Rated 5 out of 5 by VTGradstudent Very nice shirt
This is a great shirt. The material is high quality, the cut is great (I love the signature line because a large still fits properly [where a large in other well known brands feels like a tent, and the arms on a medium are too short], this shirt fits slim and the sleeves are long enough). The buttons are high quality and I particularly enjoy the cut of the pocket flaps. I bought another one in a different color, it should arrive today!

I had an original Bean chamois shirt many years ago, wore it out. Decided to try the Signature version for the tailored fit. I really liked the tapered body that didn't fit like a tent. But the sleeves are way too narrow, fit like sausage casings around the forearm. If you're very slim overall, you'll probably love this shirt. But if you're athletic/muscular (and I'm not talking bodybuilder proportions), you will likely find the cut of this shirt to be too constraining in the arms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Megaman Fantastic fit and quality
This is my new favorite winter shirt. The chamois cloth is very thick, so it's both warm and durable; it's also incredibly soft. The best part is the slim fit. I like my shirts close fitting, so I sized down to a Small which was perfect for me. (I'm 6'0 with a size 38 chest and an athletic build). Some LLBean Signature items I've ordered in the past have been a bit too baggy, but the trim fit of this shirt is right on target. LLBean, great job!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JPhO Great shirt, but inconsistent fit
Let me first say I love LL Bean's Signature line, and the more tailored fits they use. I wore LL's Chamois shirts as a kid and you can't beat the soft fabric in the winter.
That said, I've had trouble ordering these because they seem to fit differently depending on what color you order. I've ordered several, only to have to return some because they vary so much. Once you get that right, they're great, although I do wish the sleeves were consistently longer. Also, the only other thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that the stitching can be a little sloppy in some parts. Not that it's bad, but for the price I wish they were constructed as nice as their Belfast Flannels.

I own two of these shirts. Once the cold weather comes I basically live in them. This shirt is soft, warm and wears well. This is a solid shirt that you could wear out for a night on the town, a walk in the woods, work around the yard or just to relax. Buy this shirt, don't think twice.

It's wonderful when everything is right. Finding Medium Talls isn't easy, and this shirt fits beautifully. The chamois cloth is very soft, the arms are just right and the shoulders fit as they should. I like the buttons, which give the shirt the look of "quality." Is this available for women, too?

Rated 4 out of 5 by BillfromNY Oversize Neck Opening
(This review is about the PRINT version of this shirt, not the solid color version.)
FIRST, by way of comparison (Everyone should include this when writing about product sizing!!!): I ordered a size Regular (NOT Tall) medium. My measurements are 73.5" tall, 40" chest, 15.5 neck, 34" sleeve length, 32" waist, 163lbs.
I bought this shirt in size Medium (which should be sized for a neck no bigger than 15.5), yet the neck opening on this shirt is closer to 16.5.
I've encountered oversized necks on many other Bean shirts, as well as those of other retailers. I have to believe this is being done on purpose. What gives???
I like being slim, but a shirt with an oversize collar that looks like its hanging on you, makes slim guys like me look pencil necked. Not good!
Otherwise, the shirt fits me well, with enough extra room to accommodate someone heavier than I.
Despite the oversize collar, I will probably keep this shirt to wear as a shirt jacket, where the oversize neck is OK--but not as a shirt.
The shirt's pattern is less crisp than the image on my computer screen, and the shirt is kind of dingy looking. But worn as a shirt jacket over a brighter layer, it will look very nice.
It's just long enough, so I washed it in cold water and hanged dry it lest it shrink any shorter.
One other criticism I have of all six Signature line shirts I've bought so far, is that while the chest is a good size, the shirts do not taper enough to the waist, being almost box shaped, leaving me with more shirt to tuck in my pants than I would like.
I AM HAPPY THAT AT LAST SOMEBODY IS SELLING A MAN'S SHIRT WITH A PATTERN THAT IS SOMETHING OTHER THAN LITTLE SQUARES WITHIN SQARES OR LINES NEXT TO LINES!
I mean, how about some shirts with a pattern of circles, triangles, diamonds, squiggles, or dots and dashes for a change?

This shirt is comfortable, looks great, feels great - I like the oversized buttons, and it is obviously great quality. Definitely recommended.

I wear a medium in all LL Bean Signature shirts so I picked up a medium in this shirt also. The shirt fits beautifully every but my forearms, I don't have particularly large forearms, but the shirt is just too tight around them to the point where my arms feel constricted.
This is really disappointing because it fits great everywhere else. Beware if you have decent size forearms because this shirt may not fit you.

The size small fits like a perfect MD in women's sizing. Pleasantly surprised that the length was shorter than I expected. Looks vintage, from Bean "Heritage" genre. Got the barley color, w/the large different colored buttons makes for a great addition to a ladies wardrobe.
