Rated 3 out of 5 by DonnyW Well made but very scratchy
When I ordered the shirt I knew I was taking a chance because of the wool content, and I have always found wool to be a little too scratchy for me. But the description promised that with the 100% cotton liner the shirt would be "soft against the skin". Upon receipt of the shirt I did not find that to be the case. It was much too scratchy to be comfortable. I could have worn a t-shirt under it but, #1: the sleeves would have still been scratchy; and #2: with the slim fit (as in SNUG... and I am very slim) I think an added layer would have made it even more uncomfortable. For men who are not too sensitive to wool this will probably be a great shirt; it did seem to be very well made. But as for me...I returned it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by signcarver slightly scratchy, slim fit as described
Wearing wool does not bother me however i do agree with other reviewers that this sweater feels slightly scratchy, especially at the collar if worn over a t-shirt. I don't notice the scratchy feel on my bare arms though.
If worn over a long sleeve shirt with a collar, i think this sweater would be fine.
It is slightly thicker than 100% wool, warm but not bulky like 100% cotton sweaters can be.
The fit is definitely slim, about the same as the commando sweater from LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Orpheus Great fit, classic look, and not itchy
The shirt fits slim and though I still wear an undershirt with it, I don't find it itchy at all. It's a step up from a thermal henley, and nicer looking than a sweatshirt, but more casual than a sweater. It will be a go-to shirt in the cooler months, and you'll never run out of places to wear it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by aluzin Cotton/Wool thermal Henley.
I'm from Moscow, Russia. I'm 5'7" (173 cm), usually wearing size M.
I got this Henley in size M, red color and I must say that I LIKE it.
It's slim, but designed not be too close to the body.
Yes, it's a be longer then it should be (considering my height)...
Quality is good. Not itchy.
Enjoy it :)

Living in Florida, it's hard to buy quality cold weather gear locally. This Henley is top quality, soft and true to size. Very happy with this purchase.

Like another reviewer said this is quite comfortable and warm. A few people had expressed their opinion that the shirt was itchy, but, personally, I don't find it so. It's definitely not satin, nor 100% cotton, but I find it to actually be comfortable. If you're on the border, I would say try it out and see if it's really too scratchy for your own tastes.
It's a little long, though, which I'm not a big fan of.

I wish we could keep this. It is just too rough and scratchy. It has a great old fashioned "I chop my own wood and still have an outhouse" look but it just isn't comfortable. I'm sure there are some folks willing to put aside some discomfort for the look so Im giving it 2 stars for quality and appearance. (zip on wearability) Sorry LL Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TotalConvert great but a little scratchy
Like this shirt a lot, but as another review noted, despite the cotton lining it's scratchy in parts. Still, a nice shirt for weekends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cpkmd nice fit, a little rough
a nice fit, slim and not too long. interestingly, it is singificantly slimmer fitting than the non-henley thermal. only drawback is that its rough on the skin. it is cottom lines, but you can still feel the outer rough material. not a deal breakser though
