Rated 2 out of 5 by Chris51 One more time
I agree with the other reviews that say the shirt is not holding up. These used to be fine shirts that would last but over the last few years the quality has taken a nose dive. I am trying a couple shirts one more time. I plan to date the shirt and try to keep up with the number of gently cycle's in the washing machine but bottom line is, if they start to tear and fall apart with in the first 6 months, I'll not buy this brand any more.
Would you recommend this item to a friend?* Not at this time.

I have bought the pinpoint oxford 100% cotton shirt for years for my husband. He loves the feel of the shirt, it looks crisp right out of the dryer, however, in the past couple years these shirts have begun to fray within months at the front placket, collar, and cuffs. We are disappointed in the durability & wonder if perhaps the wrinkle-free finish has affected the wear. Not inclined to keep buying this shirt at $50 each. Expect more for that price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ldka Doesn't Wear Like it Used To
I've bought this shirt for my husband for years, but not anymore. It just doesn't wear like it used to. It is still a wonderful, crisp looking shirt, but the fabric is not holding up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by waveryder Nice shirt - poor wear
I have owned three of these shirts. First one lasted great but last two have worn out well ahead of their time especially at the collar, and then along the shoulder creases. I like the fit and look when the shirt is new, but expect more durability than this - pretty disappointing.

I just returned my second one of these shirts due to slit holes forming in the collar. My husband does not have this problem with any other shirt brands.

I've been wearing this shirt for at least 15 years. Coming back over and over to buy more of the same thing. In my opinion, this was the best shirt that money could buy.
But something has changed. The most recent shirt is only a fraction of the thickness and weight of the shirts I have bought in the past. I read the other reviews complaining about wear problems. Based on my first wearing of this shirt, I have to say this is almost certainly going to be a problem.
I'm very disappointed and will be looking elsewhere for my dress shirts in the future.

Fit and styling are great, however the fabric starts to unravel starting with the cuff edges, then the collar edges. A sharp looking shirt becomes tattered and definitely not sharp looking. Not nearly the durability of their other shirts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Shirtless2 Shirts don't last long enough for what they cost
I somewhat reluctantly sat down to order more of these shirts to replace several that wore out way more quickly than they should have. Thought I'd look at the reviews to see if anyone else has the same issues, and obviously they do. You might ask why I would order more of an item that I am not satisfied with. It's simple, department store shirts are worse, and these Bean shirts used to be great. Come on L. L., please go back to the way things used to be.
I know this isn't a message board, but can anyone recommend a better alternative at a similar price? All of the shirts I ordered a little over a year ago have fallen apart at the same time. I'm still a Bean guy, but these shirts are a disappointment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ShrewsburyMom Nice shirt, but not durable
I've purchased two of the Wrinkle Resistand Pinpoint Oxfords and both have shown tremendous wear after a year of wearing twice a month. The cuffs, the front placket, and the neck all have the fabric worn down.
I am happy with LL Bean's return policy, though, so both are going back for refunds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NorthGuy Looks great but has durability problems
I've bought a number of the pinpoint oxford cloth shirts. Beautiful fabric and they look good right out of the dryer. Very well made. But every one I've bought has had durability problems. After about nine months of wash and wear they start to come apart. The first place to go is the fabric at the cuffs. The fabric on the sleeves seems to disintegrate right where the cuffs are sewn on. First, there will be small holes at the pleats and these holes turn into long tears along the seam. They look like they've been razor-bladed.
Assuming the cuffs are not too far gone, the next thing to go are the sleeves. Right on the crease the fabric disintegrates just as though someone cut it with a razor blade. I don't know if its some chemical used for the no-iron finish, or what. But it's happened to every one of these shirts that I've bought. LL Bean is always very good about replacing them for free, but the replacements do just as poorly. I do wish they'd last longer. And I can't in good conscience expect Bean to always replace them for free -- no shirt lasts forever -- so I usually buy replacements after Bean replaces them free twice.
On the plus side, you don't have to worry about them getting frayed because they don't last long enough.
