Rated 5 out of 5 by horsemom22 Excellent jacket
This jacket is a heavier weight soft shell than those I found locally. Plus it is better made and has a great fit. (I ordered a medium so I could wear a light sweater under it if needed, though I did not need to. I usually wear a women's small or medium.)
I wore the jacket almost every day from late winter until mid-spring, washed it several times, and it still looks and feels new. I am ordering another one in a different color. Highly recommended.

I concur with all the positive comments about this jacket; warmth, durability, sizing. I'm 5'2 120 pounds and the small petite is perfect. I use mine for the spring and fall when it's a bit windy, maybe drizzly and on cooler summer evenings in the mountains. I've had one for years and finally am ordering a second one in black. One comment not made about this jacket is that if you have pets, especially cats, and if they shed (I have 4 shedders in a variety of colours) this jacket is much better than a fleece as the fur doesn't stick as it does with fleece. I can look well groomed on the trails and in town whereas with fleece I'm forever trying to get the fur to stay home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kaybo Great Jacket!
Bought 2 of these in different colors (black and pink), back a couple of months ago and waited to write the review until now so I could make an accurate rating.
I LOVE these jackets. Soft and comfortable from the beginning. Love the fleece lining. Got the large to have room for sweaters and other layers. Feel like I can move in this jacket. I usually wear a medium in LL Bean. I am 5'3 and about 142 lbs., big chested, and the large fit me well.
Sleeves are a little long, but the petite sleeves are too short; so I stuck with the regular.
I will wear the black for winter, and the pink for spring.

I purchased this jacket and loved it as soon as I put it on! It is soft & very comfortable, and has stretch that moves with you! I wasn't sure what size to order based on some of the other reviews. I usually wear a Small in LL Bean clothing but most always order up a size in Outerwear so I have room for bulky clothing or layers. I ordered a Medium (regular). This jacket fits perfect with a little extra room for layers! I am petite, about 5', 3" and in the 136-138 lb. range. Some reviews said the sleeves were long and tight, but they are perfect for me. I ordered the Teal color and love it! Not a jacket for extreme cold but will be great for everyday errands, fitness walking and cycling, two sports I love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by PennsylvaniaGirl Best lightweight jacket - ever!
I bought this jacket in black and another in Colonial Red and I just bought a third in Loden because I love the fit. I bought an XS Petite and it fits perfectly (especially the sleeves - finally a jacket with sleeves just the right length for a petite woman; I am 5', 115lbs). The jacket is lightweight but warm, non-bulky, can layer easily over a Fitness Fleece or sweater, the zippers are of very good quality and don't catch, and the pockets are lined for warmth. This jacket is the perfect weight and warmth for spring or autumn, and depending on where you live, winter, too (as I live in Australia now). I noticed that LLBean made changes to this jacket but the colors of the older version are much more versatile for non-athletic types (such as myself) and so that is why I snatched up a third jacket before this older version is no longer available. A GREAT jacket!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by bama51 great jacket
I have had this jacket about 1 month. I am 5' 8" tall and weigh about 140 pounds; I ordered a size large and I can wear several layers and still move freely. It really does block the wind and does not make you look bluckly like some jackets. I live in AL but it has been a very cold winter and the jacket still feels good in March. Excellent purchase. I purchased the black color and I am very pleased.

The color of this jacket was a beautiful blue, but I found the material too stiff and confining. It didn't seem to stretch much at all, so it's just not flexible enough to move around in comfortably. I also purchased an XL (1 size up) for extra room, and found the XL to be too snug for comfort. I returned it. Also- why no 2-way zipper on outerwear??

I bought this jacket a couple of years ago. I wanted something that would work by itself or with layers. I was particularly concerned about getting something to block the wind with a little bit more substance to it than just a nylon shell. This fit the bill very nicely. I ordered my normal size and a size up. I kept the larger size because it gave me more room to layer without binding me. I'm glad I did that. Even worn alone, it does not look big on me. I am very impressed with how well it keeps the wind out. It does such a good job that I can get away with a lighter layer underneath and still be very comfortable. It has really been put to the test this winter. I like the drawstring cording in the bottom to keep the drafts out. I do not regret purchasing this.

After returning other jackets to various places because of bad fit or other reasons, this one fits me and my needs. It is well-made, lots of pockets, and the material looks durable and likely to repel moisture well. Just got it yesterday so haven't worn it outside yet, but like the cut and style of it a lot. The collar actually looks good worn up or down, somehow they got that just right. The sleeves are about an inch too long, but not a problem because I like them to cover part of my hands to keep them warm. I LOVE the Loden color (not too yellow!), goes well with my red hair. I am 5'5", 107 lbs., 37-25-37 and normally wear a Small or Extra Small in Bean jackets. I got the Small because I want to wear layers underneath, and the fit is great for that, but not baggy. With my narrow hips, I have to cinch the bottom just a tiny bit, but it looks fine. Looking forward to wearing this Pathfinder jacket for years to come.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PlumpOutdoorJunkie Unhappy with "Women's Fit"
I ordered this in my usual 2X size after having a very hard time finding a soft shell large enough to fit my hips.
The blue colour was lighter than it appeared online. The fit was horribly boxy and not at all flattering! It is definitely a "plus size" fit for someone with a large tummy, not an hourglass shape. After calling customer service to determine which size to exchange it for, and paying way too much to ship the jacket back, I received a smaller size - 1X. It was still too big, and still an unflattering shape. I kept the jacket anyways for working in the garden and more than once the zipper has split open from the bottom, leaving me stuck in the jacket.
I would not purchase "women's fit" again and I can't recommend this jacket to anyone.
