The color of this jacket was a beautiful blue, but I found the material too stiff and confining. It didn't seem to stretch much at all, so it's just not flexible enough to move around in comfortably. I also purchased an XL (1 size up) for extra room, and found the XL to be too snug for comfort. I returned it. Also- why no 2-way zipper on outerwear??

I bought this jacket a couple of years ago. I wanted something that would work by itself or with layers. I was particularly concerned about getting something to block the wind with a little bit more substance to it than just a nylon shell. This fit the bill very nicely. I ordered my normal size and a size up. I kept the larger size because it gave me more room to layer without binding me. I'm glad I did that. Even worn alone, it does not look big on me. I am very impressed with how well it keeps the wind out. It does such a good job that I can get away with a lighter layer underneath and still be very comfortable. It has really been put to the test this winter. I like the drawstring cording in the bottom to keep the drafts out. I do not regret purchasing this.

After returning other jackets to various places because of bad fit or other reasons, this one fits me and my needs. It is well-made, lots of pockets, and the material looks durable and likely to repel moisture well. Just got it yesterday so haven't worn it outside yet, but like the cut and style of it a lot. The collar actually looks good worn up or down, somehow they got that just right. The sleeves are about an inch too long, but not a problem because I like them to cover part of my hands to keep them warm. I LOVE the Loden color (not too yellow!), goes well with my red hair. I am 5'5", 107 lbs., 37-25-37 and normally wear a Small or Extra Small in Bean jackets. I got the Small because I want to wear layers underneath, and the fit is great for that, but not baggy. With my narrow hips, I have to cinch the bottom just a tiny bit, but it looks fine. Looking forward to wearing this Pathfinder jacket for years to come.

I ordered this in my usual 2X size after having a very hard time finding a soft shell large enough to fit my hips.
The blue colour was lighter than it appeared online. The fit was horribly boxy and not at all flattering! It is definitely a "plus size" fit for someone with a large tummy, not an hourglass shape. After calling customer service to determine which size to exchange it for, and paying way too much to ship the jacket back, I received a smaller size - 1X. It was still too big, and still an unflattering shape. I kept the jacket anyways for working in the garden and more than once the zipper has split open from the bottom, leaving me stuck in the jacket.
I would not purchase "women's fit" again and I can't recommend this jacket to anyone.

Very well made. Perfect fit. I love it. Wear it all the time. Keeps me warm and goes with everything. (I purchased in black)

I have looked all over for an athletic fit jacket in a true plus size. This is the first one I found that I liked, but sizes and colors were limited when I ordered it. Normally, I am a 2x kinda girl. But I ordered the 1x in black and kept my fingers crossed. When it arrived, I had a sweater on and put the jacket on over it. It worked!! It fits great, and looks really nice. For our milder TX winters, it will be toasty warm and I can still fit a sweater or fleece under it for an added layer of warmth on the coldest of days. Thank you, LLBean, for not forgetting that some of the plus size women like to look stylish and have some of the flattering details like the slightly fitted look.

It feels like my neoprene snorkel gear. I guess that's what makes it wind and waterproof, but I don't care for it.
Size-wise, I'm 5'6" and 112 lb, size SX plenty big.

I have this jacket in 3 colors, and use it fall through spring for all different kinds of activities. This weekend it was great over two light layers for snowshoeing. In spring and fall I use it for long walks along the coast where it blocks the wind to keep me comfortable. I like the placement of the exterior and interior pockets, the high collar that allows room for a light scarf, and the neat appearance. My oldest one is now a few years old and still looks like new. Of the many LL Bean items I own, I consider this one of the best!

Doesn't fit me - too small in the chest, too small around the arms, and the sleeves are several inches too long. I wear the same size Bean shirts without these issues, which seem to be the same ones that I've had with all of the Bean coats & jackets that I've tried. I guess I didn't love it enough to try a larger size in petite although I'm not convinced that would fix the fit issues - honestly trying to get the size right via mail is too frustrating.

Looked long and hard for a petite soft-shell jacket. It is well-contructed, not too boxy nor fitted. The plus side to this style is that the neck and facing is the same color. It is windproof and waterproof (at least the top half of you will be dry). Water drops roll right off. The stand-up collar is stiff, as is the body of the jacket, but I imagine it will soften up in time. The not-so good - the inside of the cuffs is gray. Come on! Ya'll took the trouble to to have the neckline match the shell exterior, but used gray on the inside of the cuffs and hem?! It would be no big deal except the sleeves go down to my knuckles (like most LLBean clothing these days), rolling them up exposes that hideous gray and takes away from the clean lines. Rolling them inwards looks dorky. Leaving as is looks like the jacket is too big. Have not had it long enough to say whether it is "breathable," but I suspect it is not. It is what I want but it is a hit and a miss. Depending on how expensive it would be to have the sleeves shortened, I have not decided whether to keep this yet.
