I love these pants, but I wish there were other colors(like black). I tried dying a pair, but the stitching doesn't dye well and the pants don't look right afterwords.

I love these pants. I'm a women who sometimes purchases men's pants because of their excellent fit, materials and construction. I bought a pair a long time ago for my husband and he really likes them. So I tried them, too since I don't wear pants that are slim-fit and/or below waist designs or contain artificial stretchy fabric. These are the most comfortable, breathable and wonderful pants to wear if you are outdoors and need pants during the warmer months or even during periods of extreme humidity. The material is soft but strong and the pants retain their good looks after repeated laundering. I have virtually worn one pair into threads -- that is how much I like these pants. The pockets come in very handy and I use them to hold my keys and cell phone while working. The waist hits me perfectly because I like pants that fit at the natural waist and NOT BELOW! There is plenty of room in the seat and thigh area to allow for movement and bending. I purchased another two pairs this year and will probably get a spare as well. They are the only pants I wear during the Spring and Summer and I hope L.L. Bean will continue to offer them and will NOT CHANGE THE DESIGN OR FIT! Again, I highly recommend these pants to both men and women. They are worth the price.

Finally, exactly what I've been seeking. Way better than any of the women's cargo pants I've tried and returned from Bean and others. Comfortable, sturdy, good fit. Nice, big front pockets. Cargo pockets that are placed correctly (for some reason women's pants have them so low down you have reach way down to get anything in or out), no Velcro or buttons impeding access to the cargo pockets, great pleats that allow the pockets to lie flat when empty but still hold quite a bit if necessary. Belt loops, and a properly positioned waist (why would anyone want hip-hugger cargos??). A variety of inseam options since men come in different sizes whereas there is apparently only one ideal length for the female leg. A nice mid-weight cotton material. Slight shrinkage after the first washing.
I wear Size 8 med-tall in Bean's Double L relaxed fit jeans for women. I ordered size 30 x 30. Perfect fit at waist and the below-waist region. I might get another pair with 32 inch inseam as these might be a tad short, but those might be too long. Any possibility of offering one-inch increments for inseam?
I am a little freaked out to see these are on sale, but I hope that's just for certain unpopular colors. Sage is a great color; please keep that one. Love These Pants.

Had previously purchased Double L Cargo Pant which I was very happy with; however, I was informed that LLB would not be carrying them this year. The fabric didn't wrinkle and the Khaki was Khaki.
These pants have a fabric which certainly is not wrinkle resistant, actually came pre-wrinkled. And the color was terrible. Ordered British Khaki and the color was more of a light yellow-brown.

Bought 2 pairs of Tropic-Weight light colored cargo pants last year. Loved them & still wear them! Now in 2014, I wanted to add some basic pleated chinos in the tropic-weight fabric to my wardrobe...
Come to find out that tropic-weight, pleated chinos only come in "Comfort-Waist style" The comfort-waist feature is the worst design feature that can ever be added to a pair of pants. The over-lapping fabric destroys the fine fashion line and makes men's pants look like they are poorly designed. Please send the comfort-waist feature to the wastebasket... Thank you

I orderd two pairs of these pants to wear in Florida last year. They were very comfortable and just the right weight. Love to wear them so I ordered two more pairs this year. Wear well. Fit well. Like the fact that I can get my exact waist size. Like the colors. Do well in the washing and dry quickly. Little or no ironing. Well worth the price. The ones I bought last year still look and wear like new. Do not shrink or fade. Do get a little more of a stonewashed look after many washings. Order came promptly and like the free shipping.

Very comfortable for regular Florida wear, but unreliable availability for some colors and sizes.

I mistakenly ordered the wrong style. I wanted the comfort waist and
got the wrong ones. Not LL Bean's fault but mine. The quality of the ones I returned were excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ForeverFree Finally . . . Cargo Pants with Long Inseams!
After a four-year search, at last I've found cargo pants for my husband in his 32"/36" size!! Thank you L.L. Bean! Hubby was doubly surprised on his recent birthday; he had all but given up on finding a pair of cargos that fit his leggy, 6'1" frame. I ordered the British Khaki, and, the color is significantly lighter in person than in the outdoor photo shown online, although it's still a traditional yellow-based khaki that's very versatile. These pants fit comfortably and wash with ease. I find it best to "hand press" them after removing from the dryer, then allow them to lay flat on the folding table overnight before folding. They do crinkle after a day's wear, but, that's the nature of tropical cargos. My one suggestion for improving these pants is to replace the flimsy button at the waistband with a metal riveted-style fastener - the kind used in most jeans. Or, perhaps, back the existing button with a smaller bracing one. As it is now, my husband has worn these pants about four times, and the button is loosening and threatening to crack. Otherwise, these are wonderful casual pants that carry through all four seasons here in the high plains of New Mexico.
