My husband bought these for the overflow crowd at Christmas. Our grandsons tried to sleep on them, but they always deflated. This is not a good product. I'm happy that LLBean goes beyond the mfg. warranty and we can return them.

The first time this mattress was used was on a gym floor for a week. It deflated six nights in a row. It's a flawed design, as evidenced by other reviewer's similar comments. How can LL Bean continue to carry this product with so many poor reviews?
I returned it to LL Bean for a full refund.

This is the first bad item I have purchased from LL Bean. Just like the other reviews, the first few times this mattress was great. Then this past week, middle of the night the air goes out for no reason. I took a chance after reading the previous reviews because of the built in batteries and I knew that LL Bean would back it up if it failed. The concept was great but the mattress not so much, so back it goes.

Nice durable mattress but the flapper valve design is flawed. This bed fills nicely with the built in pump, but after only two uses, the flapper valve allows the bed to deflate in the middle of the night.
I would not recommend this mattress at all, Had a Coleman that lasted for years, and will probably going back to that brand.
this one is being returned. Just awful. Cannot stress how bad this is,

Rated 1 out of 5 disappointing performance
After only about a year, these mattresses will not hold air. Slow leak during the night and then you're basically sleeping on the floor. I tried soaking the gaskets (as recommended at Aerobed site) and trying to locate holes and patch them, but to no avail. Not sure if it's my fault for storing them in the attic, where temperatures might be more extreme than the rest of the house, or perhaps abuse from young kids who mainly used them - but all in all a big disappointment.

Used the mattress camping on 4 separate trips since getting it before Memorial Day. Last trip the mattress started leaking around the flapper valve in the middle of the night. Slept on flat mattress uncomfortably through the night. Trying another.

This twin bed was great the first time we used it - for a sleepover in my daughter's room, so it was on carpet and the user weighed about 80 lbs. The second time we used it, (another sleepover, another little girl) it got soft during the night, but wasn't entirely deflated. A few days ago was the third time we used it and it was entirely flat by morning (yet another sleepover). We had a queen-size electric-powered Aerobed that lasted 8 years (always used indoors on carpet, but slept on 2 adults), and we have another battery-operated full-size that has lasted through 2 camping trips on rough ground, so I was really disappointed that this didn't hold up (indoors and only used by a child). Maybe I should exchange it for another, since all the other reviewers seem to love it. Perhaps we got a bum one?
Aerobeds are super comfy and we love the battery-powered option for convenience - no cords for the kiddos to trip over, and makes it really nice for camping. I also really like the elevated "pillow" on this one. You could get by without a pillow if you had to. I think I'll take advantage of Bean's great exchange policy and just try another (which is why although I gave it only one star, I said I'd still recommend it to a friend.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Scarlett106 Perfect!
We got this for guests since we don't yet have a guest room (or a guest bed!), and it's perfect. Our guests have said it doesn't lose its inflation even after a few nights and it was very easy to inflate! I like the handy case, too.

Bought 2 of these twin mattresses to use when we camp with no electricity. Having them battery operated is a good option for us, no foot pumps, or having to pump them up at the car. They stayed inflated all night, and the next night when there was a change in temperature, it was easy to add more air! Very comfortable, even for us plus size people. Only things that would make them better is having an option to use electric when at home for overnight guests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrandMrsM Better than a hotel
We bought these beds to use on a four week, cross country car trip. The plan was to tent, and inflate and deflate the mattresses on a daily basis avoiding costly hotel stays.
We were concerned as with some of our other air mattresses, we had always ended up on the ground at some point.
Every night we used these, they worked great. If there was air loss (we are big people and we were at 8,000 feet plus, at times) it was minimal and easily put back in with a flick of a switch. Beats foot pumping or the separate pump you have to use with other mattresses.
They are more money than some, but the built-in pump, easy deflation, carrying bag, and LLBean backing made it a smart decision. They will now be bedding for house-guests when we are not camping with them. Can't wait to use them again.
