Rated 5 out of 5 by Robfoll Great bag; holds a lot
This is a great bag. Sturdy, yet light-weight. Strong solid handles, good size wheels. When I use LL Bean's ultra light packers in this bag, it holds a lot! This item replaced a different suitcase whose wheels fell apart. LL Bean is the absolute best re guarantees on their merchandise, no questions asked. Have had this bag for almost 2 years, and so far, so good! And perfect size for a carry on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TedfromOxford Ballistic Rooling Pullman Large...Perfect
I was looking for a rolling Pullman that was well made, spacious and Lightweight . The bag needed to have a firm body and not to wide.
I set my requirements based on my travel with the rail system in Germany. The bag was easy to maneuver in narrow spaces and not to heavy to throw overhead .This bag met my expectations with flying Colors and because of it's design I could get by with the medium which I will purchase before my next trip to Germany.

The bag is very well priced and is a good attempt but there are a couple of design flaws in my mind that if fixed, would make this bag MUCH better. First, is the handles are attached to a very soft part of the bag with very little structure. This makes it less durable and a bit more challenging to handle. Second, the outermost pocket has a vertical side zip with several compartments inside that should be accessed from the top. What makes this even worse is the fact that the handle on the side of the bag prevents you from placing the bag on its side to access it. Make the access for this pocket at the top of the compartment and its a much better situation. Other than that, it is a decent bag that looks great. Very lightweight, smooth and sturdy telescoping handle and wheels. I'm surprised the design team didn't catch those two fairly obvious items though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AmericaninSweden I want to like it
We travel a lot so we need dependable luggage. I love how lightweight this piece is, but the first time we used it, the zipper pull ripped off at some point in transit and we had a big gash in the back of the suitcase. It's easy to handle and functionally quite a nice design but it just doesn't hold up to the rigors that today's luggage is put through, unfortunately.

Rated 2 out of 5 by THHiggie Smaller than Advertised
I am disappointed in the two large ballistic bags I recently received. They are much smaller than advertised, and the one interior compartment is further shrunk due to two large protuding supports that run the length of the bag. There are no interior compartments and the outer ones are small and difficult to get to. I had watched these bags for months because they used to be advertised as 27", and that's what I wanted. When I finally bought, they were adversited at 26.5", but when I received them, they were barely 25" including the protruding handle and wheels.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Globetrottinmama Very Disappointing
There's nothing ballistic about this bag. I've had it less than a year and it's tearing in multiple places. It's only been used for clothes on a handful of trips/flights. The two stars are for the beautiful blue color and it's easy to roll. I will be requesting a refund from LLBean.

The luggage fits well in the over head compartment of the planes. The color options are good. I wish it had a handle grip on the bottom side of the luggage for ease of grip when removing it from over head compartments and going through the TSA security tunnel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GoHo Not as good as the old Ballistic
I've had the (old) Large and Medium Ballistic bags for years; they've traveled the world with me. The handle on the Large one recently came loose, so I sent it back for an exchange. Kudos to L. L. Bean for their no-questions-asked 100% satisfaction guarantee! However, I'm really disappointed in the new Large Ballistic Rolling Pullman I received. It doesn't have the two-sided design of the old one; just one large interior space. Where the old one had in-line wheels, this one has external wheels that don't appear as sturdy. It's definitely more lightweight, which is a plus - but it also feels far less sturdy, so that's the tradeoff. I have not yet used it, but I'm traveling to India for several months this fall and will likely use it then. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised . . . but so far, I must say I'm disappointed.

I got the 25" Pullman for my husband for Christmas, to use on our vacation this past April to Ireland. So far only 1 trip. there are no marks, scuffs etc. It looks brand new. In Ireland they use a lot of gravel drive ways. I was so glad to have the 2 big wheels, I do not believe those little "spinner" wheels would have worked on the gravel or latter on cobblestone sidewalks. I would have had to carry the bag. It did not tip over, even with an add-on/carry-on bag that had the fit-over- the handle to carry on top of the bag; not on the B&B gravel driveways, not in the airport. I liked it so much, I bought the 28 " when we returned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rgodave Great luggage, BUT . . .
My wife and I just got 2 of these bags. Well made, outstanding wheels, light weight, smooth-working telescoping handle, and a side handle. All great stuff.
BUT - the zipper for the front compartment is only on the left side of the bag, and does not go across the top of that compartment nor down the other side. Being on the left side, while the side handle is on the right side, you have to set the bag onto that right-side carry handle to conveniently get into this compartment - the zipper is on the wrong side of the compartment. So there's nothing to hold onto to steady the bag while accessing it.
Inside that compartment is an open pocket, a zipper pocket, two pen holders, and a pocket for a cell phone (or whatever). But since the zipper only opens one side of the compartment, and those pockets open toward the top of the suitcase (not toward that zipper), they are all awkward to get at.
This would be the best bag we've seen if only the zipper were installed for better access!
