Rated 5 out of 5 by HoosierDaddy What a great carry on!
I recently took my Expedition Travel Pack on a five day trip to the high desert of Arizona. It proved to be a perfect travel companion, with enough room for a long weekend/short week. The stow away pack straps made the longer walks through airports comfortable and the multiple handles made airplane loading a breeze. I'm very happy with all aspects of this pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by stlmom Great as a Carry-on
Took this bag and a tote/shoulder bag (as a purse) on a trip to Tunisia and Greece. Didn't have to check any luggage! I had a weeks worth of clothes and and extra pair of shoes along with gifts. Getting around in the airport was not a problem with it on my back. Using the handle was more uncomfortable. Not having the rigid frame for wheels made it easy to place in car trunks and even on my lap when I needed to do that. Did I mention I never had to worry if my luggage would arrive at my destination or if it would delay me getting to a transfer flight? Love the orange color.

I wrote a review on this product when LL Bean began carrying it. I have used it on countless trips since for both business and pleasure. I have loved using this bag. In fact, it held a week's worth of clothes on a trip to Disney last week. Upon arriving home I ordered three more for my wife and two sons. I am still amazed a bag this size that fits in the overhead of every airplane I have flown on could hold so much clothing. The best part? I never have to wait and wonder if my bag will be on the belt at baggage pick up. The durability has been tremendous as well not to mention the ease of navigating airports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MomOfTwoYoungOnes Great bag, especially if you have young kids!
I have had this bag for about two years now and I LOVE it. I have two young kids. One is a preschooler and the other is in elementary school. When we travel by air, I exclusively use this bag to pack my things. This bag allows me to have two free hands to hold a little one's hand or to push their luggage as well. I can also fit everything I need in this bag for at least four days. It is also relatively light. Anyway, I rarely write reviews but I felt it was warranted for this bag. Since I've had it I've contemplating buying it as a gift for others I love it that much....

Rated 5 out of 5 by BigEddy Great bag with a few flaws, but still 5 star
I bought this bag in January and have flown about 50,000 miles with it this year primarily for work and a little bit on vacation. This bag has exceeded my expectations. I only use the backpack straps. The shoulder strap would be suitable for light to medium loads if used across the body, but the backpack straps are much easier.
The bag holds far more than you would think by looking at it. On a recent trip to Arizona for both work and play I fit 5 pairs of khakis/slacks, 5 polo shirts, 7 t-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, a pair of sandals and 7 days worth of socks and underwear. I am 6'3 and 225 pounds so these are larger clothing items. This is by far the most I have ever stuffed and it fit easily in the overhead bin of a larger plane (757). It will not fit in the overhead of a regional jet if fully stuffed. It will fit if packed snugly, but with a little give.
The straps work well but can pinch a little on heavier loads. The interior is great with load straps on one side and a zippered compartment on the other. I have used the zippered compartment for a blazer and it does an excellent job of not allowing it to shift and wrinkle. The outer pockets work well if the rest of the bag is not too full, otherwise it is difficult to move items in and out.
This is the best carry-on bag I have ever used. It could use a waist strap, but there are aftermarket options available for that.

At the last minute during a trip I needed a water resistant, carry on back pack. I'd looked and looked until I found this and it couldn't be more perfect. It was easy to maneuver and fit in the overhead just right. I will use this bag a great deal, I know. I was also thrilled to finally visit the home store in Freeport.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 6mLx1qJSkc Nice Pack
A nice hybrid travel pack, that can be used either as a suitcase or a backpack. Its backpack features are especially nice, with alot of extra pockets and compartments. Is especially useful when one is traveling, doing both light hiking/walking and staying in hotels. However, the shoulder straps pinch the neck quite a bit (this is really the only disadvantage of this pack). All-around high-quality construction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HappyCamper228 Great pack for overnighters or a month long trek
I recently took this pack on a 4 week trip through Europe and it worked flawlessly, for the most part. The bag functioned well getting through security check scanners (even when stuffed to the max) and made getting on/off planes, trains, taxis, and buses a breeze. The bag does meet carry-on requirements and the multiple carry options make getting through airports much easier. Although not stated, or maybe I looked over it, the bag does come with a detachable shoulder strap so you can carry it on its side or you can choose to use the stowable backpack straps. I never used the shoulder strap during my trip so I don't know how well that feature actually works, but the backpack straps were a little disappointing. All packed my bag weighed about 20 lbs, making the shoulder straps rather unbearable for the longer hauls through cities, which is why I gave it the 4 star rating. Overall the pack did meet my needs and held up well to rain and city abuse, but I wish it had thicker backpack straps and possibly a padded stowable hip belt of some sort to take the weight off the shoulders when fully packed.
A note to future buyers- If you are an organization freak like I am, pick up one or two of the ultralight packer sets from LLBean, they make loading and unloading this wardrobe style bag much easier to find things in as well as keep everything from shifting to the bottom of the bag. I was able to fit two of the large packers in the main compartment of the pack and use a medium and small one in the mesh side of the pack to keep things nicely organized and still have room for an extra pair of shoes and my *carryall toiletry kit.

Just the right size, with enough pockets and capacity for long-weekend business travel. If loaded heavily and carried a long time, the shoulder straps may chafe a bit. I spent 3hrs walking around London on a 5-day trip, and found some sore patches on my hips from the snap connectors. A hip belt would have helped.
