My wife gave me this pack for fathers day after a few hints.
I was looking for a load capable pack that wouldn't break the bank. My intentions are to use this as my primary pack on my Colorado Elk archery hunt in September. The intentions are to have a base camp and spike out to promising ares for several days.
My setup of this pack includes a camo duffel with tent, sleeping bag, pad, cook-set and additional layers. I will strap my day pack on the outside with essential hunting/survival gear.
I have tested the pack for 2 months now, and I am very pleased with the versatility of this pack and how it handles loads. I weighed the pack with all hunting and camping stuff and it was 38# (no food or water). I have been doing training walks with this load on a descent of 450ft for just under a mile turning around and going back up. with a compressible load this pack is very comfortable. I tried loading it with 50# of feed and it handle the load OK, but it feels a lot different than camping gear.
I am 6'-0" tall, and it fits well, the suspension is simple, and adjustable, but someone taller may have fit issues.
This pack could support an entire line of add on products such as a weather resistant duffel for backpacking, accessory pouches, hydration bladder pocket and additional Q.R. buckles and straps.
I have used this for hauling in treestands and that was like a walk in the park.
Overall, this pack performs it intended jobs very well, the olive color is perfect for hunting
Nice job L.L. Bean

Rated 5 out of 5 by clayshooter25 Perfect for Carrying Hunting Blind!
I tore the carrying case to my chair blind this past deer season. This pack is the perfect replacement. Much more comfortable and stable plus there's plenty of room to strap on other gear. Gotta have my son get one too!

Carrying a climbing stand into the woods with a rifle and a backpack can get to be a real chore.
This pack has a multitude of different attachment points, compression straps, and the large sling that enables you to snuggly hold your tree stand for transport. I then looped the shoulder straps from my backpack around the treestand and carried the entire bundle on my back using the Hunters pack. All of the weight is carried on your hips using the well padded waist strap.
It's a top quality product that can also be used for hiking and camping, pretty much anytime you need to carry something any distance. It looks and feels like it's built to last. I would recommend to anybody.

Rated 5 out of 5 by imiller Great Pack for the Money
I was looking for a pack that I could use to pack into an area, set up camp, and day hunt out of while having the ability to expand to pack out meat on the first load. A few high end packs fit the bill (Mystery Ranch NICE frame and Crew Cab, or Stone Glacier Solo for example). The LL Bean Hunters Carry All was close enough and at ~15% the cost it was a no brainer. For the pack in I generally have my sleeping bag down low, my clothes and food in 2 separate dry bags, with my tent and pad sandwiched over the top of them. In the several trips it has seen use I have been extremely happy with the overall performance of this pack and even fully loaded with 4 quarters of a decent sized mule deer the pack was as comfortable as to be expected, although I did have a quarter slide out the bottom midway through the hike. At 5'11" the load lifters still did there job and the waist strap didn't slip.
My only complaints would be to add a zippered pocket to one of the compression wings and that a deeper hydration pocket would allow the use of some of the larger capacity hydration bladders, although a fully loaded bladder as well as a load compressed on top seemed to distort the frame and wasn't as comfortable.
As a previous reviewer mentioned an add on line of additional components would make this pack an absolute steal and would meet the needs of a lot of hunters.

The deer in Alaska are small and I bought this to pack them out to camp. This pack will hold a gutted deer with the hide still attached without any problem. I was able to pack out deer and walk a couple of miles, through brush and the pack held up great. I have also packed in a 50lb cement pier to my cabin and it was easy. My only wish is that it had a small outside pocket and another set of straps on the bottom quarter of the pack. Aside from that, this is a great pack.

PROS: If you need a LARGE multi-purpose pack, this is the one! It's feels like an internal frame pack with the advantages of an external frame.
I?ve used it for wet winter camping to carry bulky items like extra: clothing, food, fuel, etc.
Everything fit into two large and two smaller dry bags. For two other trips (caving and a canoeing), I just switched dry bags. My basic essentials are in the small bags and equipment for different activities is pre-packed in the large ones.
All I need to do is select the appropriate bags for the activity. Pre-packing makes storage easy, too.
The pack is light weight and easy to use and will adjust to fit large and small loads. It was also great hauling 60 lb. of firewood. Hip pad and straps fit fine and are comfortable. It?s got a pocket for a hydration bladder and another one for wallet, keys, phone, etc ? items you carry but don?t need ?til the trip is over.
CONS: It could use a couple more web straps (which I added) to help keep awkward items from shifting.

I've been using this carryall pack and for the first time I can transport all my gear without stress on my back and shoulders. Fatigue is no longer an issue. It's sturdy, comfortable, and easy to use. Lots of adjustments and options. I'm getting up in years and I wouldn't be able to hunt as hard as I do without this product. Best investment I've made. Thank you L.L. Bean

Rated 5 out of 5 by Biggs300 Daypack with Real Utility
I bought this pack to carry tree stands between a couple of hunting leases but the pack has proven to be an excellent day+ pack with the addition of a XL (46 Liter) Compression sack. The pack's rigid, sturdy construction and placement of compression straps provide real utility for hauling. It should carry an elk quarter just fine. I did a 2.5 mi. hike with a 50 lb. load and the pack, although not overly padded, was very comfortable. This pack is hard to beat for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by mountainHunter solves the mountain hunters dilemma
This pack solves the mountain hunters dilemma. External frames are great for packing game quarters, but they are noisy and have a propensity to bang against your rifle. On the other hand, if you have spent all day climbing a mountain and shoot something, you want to be able to carry it out without having to go back down mountain to get your pack frame. This carryall pack fixes the problem and also is a great value.
