We purchased the Delta Day Bag to use on our new bikes. It is extremely well made and will hold many items. It is insulated and will carry a lunch or cold items. The side drop down to make a saddle bag for the bike. It is roomy and easy to attach to the bike. Glad we purchased one!

Super bike bag. Price is right, very compact, yet when opened up one can carry a lot of gear. Three of my family members saw the bike bag and went to LLBean and bought one for their bikes. Maybe I should get a commission! This bag is easy to put on and take off your bike. Yes, I would recommend this bag for the people who go out riding for a couple of hours or for a day bike ride.

I am returning the bag and trying another. Style and space was what I wanted but it was not for my bike rack on back as the screw holes would not line up.
Ordered it in Jan for my florida vacation in March but it was back ordered so often that it did not arrive until too late. Bummer!

Rated 2 out of 5 by 2255 Poor stitching, won't last
I used the item for about two month and I liked it. I like that it goes on and off quickly and it holds a lot of stuff in the center compartment. One day I used the side compartment (panier like) and after riding for 5 miles this way the stitching on the side compartment came apart. Now it has a hole 5-6 inches long. The center compartment is still usable, but still this item is very low quality and I wish that L.L. Bean would find a higher quality item that can hold up to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by summitgirl Great bag for a road bike.
This bag a "just right" choice for someone who prefers to use their beloved road bike for commuting. It is nice & slim & low-profile for carrying your stuff to work in a non-obtrusive "roady" kind of way. And, when you want to fold the panniers down to hit the farmer's market on your ride home...still..low profile, not big & bulky..just really great, efficient, functional, stream-lined, easy to use, very thoughtful design....especially for the roady who wants to commute to work but still have a little functionality. Shoulder strap for quickly carrying the whole package right in to work...easy & efficient. Great job, LL BEAN!! (I would only add one tiny thing...little rubberized "S" hooks affixed to the bottom of the bungies for clipping on to your rack when you do, in fact, unfold & use the panniers..FYI).

Rated 4 out of 5 by GJ13 Delta Day Bag has great features
Delta Day bag has great features and is very functional. Interior is great and the expansion features makes this a great bag. Easily attached and removed to the bike rack and shoulder strap makes this a very useful biker bag. Only issue was the interior support seemed to big and had to be trimmed down to fit better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BKrider Doesn't stand up to daily use
Not suitable for daily use--velcro goes bad, seams can't handle moderate weight. Only good for occassional riders, anything above that invest in a higher quality product.

This bag worked great for what I needed it for. It held my camera and binoculars with room to spare. I also packed a light lunch and hit the bike trail. I was very pleased with the quality of the bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CNYCamper Good for the price, a few caveats
Overall, I'm glad I purchased this bag since it's much more than I expected for this price, esp. with a sale.
This is a deceptively sizeable bag and fits a surprising amount of items in the pannier sections even without the panniers unzipped. I've put the shoulder strap, my small cable bike lock, first aid kit and a folding cane (I'm an above knee amputee who can cycle 50 miles, but must walk with a cane) in the unzipped pannier sections without stressing it, thereby freeing up the amount of room available in the main section which is sizeable. There are 2 small mesh zipper sections in the lid that can hold some change, an ID, energy shot or other small items. There are 6 connection points that work well with my Trek brand rear rack and the panniers have a small elastic loop that will secure them to the rack. Make sure the rear rack you have has a small lip of some sort at the axle connection point otherwise the panniers may get in the way of your pedaling.
The panniers are surprisingly sizeable and are constructed of lightweight nylon. I have no concerns putting clothes in the panniers, but I wouldn't put anything heavy or sharp in it since the material just can't withstand it. It's also something that I wouldn't overfill since I can easily see how the seams would separate. If used with this kind of awareness the panniers will be quite useful when needed. I like the bright yellow of the panniers too to increase visibility for safety.
I often travel to Denver and rent a bike there. This is the kind of bag that would be fabulous for me to use as a carry on bag since it has the shoulder strap and is spacious enough for the things I need to enjoy my day. Overall it's a pretty versatile bag.
Here's the things I'm not so crazy about. The bag has no reflectivity to it. A couple of reflective stripes on the sides and back of the bag would be great. I also wish that there was a small loop in the back to attach a red safety light for more visibility. The bottom of the main section of the bag has an insert to give the bottom shape and durability, but I had to trim a good 4 inches off of the insert since it was drastically buckled when I received it. Not really a big deal, but I'm not sure how that got past quality control.
It's probably not a good item for the ultra serious cyclist, but for someone like myself who rides about 1500 miles a year it's a nice addition for my most prized material possession.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bethinboston nice bag but seams coming undone
i really like the bag and it is a nice bonus to have the large panniers (side bags) to put bulky items in. but i have only had the bag for maybe two weeks and i can't ride my bike to work daily so i really have only used it maybe 5 or 6 times and one of the pannier seams has given way at the bottom. i just noticed it last night when i got home from work. luckily i didn't loose my water bottle on my way home. i don't fill it with anything overly heavy, so if you buy it just make sure to keep it light. i will be returning it and trying something else.
