Rated 1 out of 5 by ShoppingWarrior Quality Steadily Deteriorating
Based on the glowing review in Consumer Reports, I purchased a set of these sheets in 2010 and they were indeed wonderful. Even after three years of heavy use, they still snap like taffeta when shaken. Then in 2011, I bought another set, expecting to receive the same sheets. Sadly, these were not the same--good sheets but not wonderful ones. There was no explanation for the change in quality.
Very recently, in 2013, a third set were ordered. These are noticibly rougher, so much so that I am going to return them. No one would be happy sleeping on these sheets. This deterioration of quality while the price has increased is just not acceptable.
(All sheets were white, king size, and were washed before using)

Rated 5 out of 5 by mbzr Trusting Consumer Reports Rating
I recently ordered a Pima Percale 280 thread count flat sheet, fitted sheet, and a pair of pillowcases. It will be some time before I will be able to determine actual quality but for now I will say; in Consumer Reports I Trust. Consumer Reports painted a dismal picture of sheet makers/sellers overall, but gave the LL Bean Pima Percale sheets a high rating. I purchased these sheets solely on the recommendation of Consumer Reports and have faith they would not put their reputation on the line for inferior sheets. The sheets look and feel great so far. I hope I remember to update this review or post a new one in another 6 months or so to let others know how the sheets fit and hold up over time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LLBeanLover51 Soft and nice but ripped withing days
These sheets are nice cotton and a beautiful color, so I was so excited to get them (in the right size .. had mistakenly ordered wrong size earlier). The top flat sheet is fine but, unfortunately, the bottom fitted sheet ripped right in the center within a week of putting on the bed. I left it on for another couple of days, and lo and behold, another rip appeared, lower down on the same line. Clearly something to do with the weave. So disappointed. I love LLBean and order almost all my clothing and home goods from them, but these did not make the grade. Just received the flannel ones as a replacement. They got great reviews and seem to last.

Rated 2 out of 5 by beanviewer delicate, city water only............
i'm always in search of good quality sheets that stand up to bleach and rust remover and these won't be on my go to list in the future. an ok sheet, but not a memorable sheet for that price.....colors will immediately fade with first wash. (yes, I know I didn't follow washing instructions)

Rated 5 out of 5 by OnlyPercale Outstanding Sheets and the best customer service
I am very picky with sheets and cost is not an issue. These sheets are some of the very best that I have had, whatever the price. I have had these sheets now for about two years. They soften nicely over time, although they are comfortable after the initial wash as well. They fit my large high quality mattress which is 14 inches deep as well as my even larger pillow top mattress which is also at least 14 inches deep. The quality of the elastic is very good. The quality of the material is excellent, cool, crisp and breathable. They are a little softer than another brand from Vermont which I also like but which has been discontinued, and wrinkle a little less, but it has the same breathability and has the same cool feel and the ability to allow you to slide along the mattress when you move at night without clinging to you. It has also proven very durable.
With regards to LL Bean customer service, I accidentally tore the associated pillow case...my fault and not a defect in workmanship or quality of material, but LLBean gave me a refund, no questions asked! That makes for a loyal customer

Great quality, crisp, smooth, percale sheets, but they are way too big for my new 9" memory-foam-type mattress. Not only do I want to see more of my headboard, but I don't want to use a ladder to climb into bed. It would be nice if quatilty sheets were also sold by mattress depth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Abbeyroad 280 Thread Count Pima Cotton Percale Sheet
These sheets are smooth and comfortable. I have had a number of sheets over the years and have been pleased by their durability. My only complaint is that the fitted sheet is too large for our pillow top mattress and required alteration to get it to fit snuggly. Mattresses seem to be getting larger every year, so I suppose manufacturers are just trying to keep up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WhitneyL Excellent sheets for the price
Recently bought a new queen mattress which is very deep. These sheets fit perfectly with extra room in the corners. They washed and dried very well. Very soft for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JuneE I love these sheets.
I just bought a comforter cover to go with my previously purchased LL Bean percale sheets. I love how the sheets are both soft and crisp feeling, not clingy, which is important here in Tucson. They wash up beautifully and feel heavenly to sleep in. I am very pleased.

In a previous review of these sheets, I noted the sheets were too big for our new 15" Beautyrest memory foam type of mattress. They look awful but we can sleep on them. This morning, I altered them by 2" at each corner and now they fit better. I won't buy them again for this bed. They should be marked to fit a 20" plus mattress, perhaps a pillow top. Still on the quest for sheets to fit memory foam size bed.
