The only reason I purchased a new one was because the previous one was accidently thrown out last winter. (Don't store things in trash bags) The new pillow is smaller and too soft. May 30, 2012

The straps are light nylon, I think and held onto the Hammock with Velcro which loses its' ability to hold in a very short time period. May 30, 2012
