Rated 5 out of 5 by geodavky Great bag!
As I sat in the waiting area on my return flight from a 3 week trip to New Zealand where I took this bag I watched the family next to me pick up their department store rolling bag as it fell over several times (the handle hit the lady next to me) and thought that's what you get for buying a cheap bag.
This bag is great! Holds more than you can imagine (I had it filled with 47 lbs of shoes and clothing!). The side pocket works great for extra shoes. LL Bean does it again! Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CampingFamilyVA Love This Carryall!!
I was searching for a bag to take us through our next 3 trips without paying the baggage fee. I figured I had nothing to lose as 3 trips avoiding baggage fees both ways paid for the suitcase itself. This suitcase went above and beyond! Paired with packing cubes I was able to get a weeks worth of clothes in this bag. (this from someone who usually chooses the largest suitcase possible and still manages to overpack). I was concerned about the bag being 1" over regulation size. I called LL Bean and read reviews assuring others that they had never had a problem so I figured I could try it and if prohibited from using the bag I could always return it. No worries, it fits in the overhead perfectly. I got the Plum color-very pretty. Dark, subtle color. I'm in LOVE with this suitcase!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by PAPAED54 Plenty of room
Delivery was fast, (3day's). At first glance I thought it wasn't going to be big enough, so I pre packed for my future 8 day trip before I returned it for a bigger LLBean piece of luggage. Was I surprised, room to spare. Quality is fantastic, handle, and wheel's are not at all flimsy, the nylon fabric, and zipper's seem heavy duty strong. We have other brand name luggage, but I think this is going to be my #1 piece of luggage. Now I know why I buy LLBean merchandise, even my winter work boots are LLBean. I think I am going to get my wife to look at buying LLBean luggage before our next trip. You guy's ROCK!
Did you ever try to return something to a store a few year's after you have bought it? FORGETTABOUTIT.
Not at LLBean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JTinPA wow! it's special!!
i've been lugging around smaller bags for years - jamming things into luggage that just wasn't big enough for seven days. and i dredded packing, even for a trip to the caribbean. so for a february trip to cancun, i sought a bigger bag and one for my wife - and did the pullman large ever do the trick!!! it's not a carryon for all those people who feel it is necessary to disrupt us with your lugging luggage on-board. but it is the most wonderful addition. so deep, so wide, so long - then a zippered compartment which adds an even deep dimension! the large bag is more than enough for a 7-day trip. and for those bothered by no holding straps, pack more or put favorite pillow on top and you'll sleep better too. and this luggage is very stylish and recognizable on the carousel. buy it now ... you won't regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mtnrunner AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Wow, LLBean has always been a great company to deal with, but they have really gone above and beyond on my recent replacement of this suitcase. First of all, it's a really great suitcase, the problem is that I stuff it so full every time, that eventually, the zipper tore a little on the corner. It took almost 5 years for this to happen, and the fault is really mine. But they have a fantastic return policy, and replaced it for me free of charge, including the monogramming. Not only that, but yesterday, I received a box in the mail from LLBean containing several items I had neglected to take out of my old suitcase! I was very, very impressed by that! But back to the suitcase, buy it, you'll love it! Lots of great pockets and no matter how much I stuff it, it is always under 50 lbs!

Rated 3 out of 5 by SusanLM Doesn't meet airline carry-on requirements
I bought this bag, and it's very nice. But I returned it because it doesn't meet carry-on requirements of a major carrier (United), which are 22 x 14 x 9. When it does, I'll buy it again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nickname1001 Great bag - large, lightweight, and durable
I've had this bag for about 4 years and have used it for numerous domestic and international trips - most recently a 6-week trip to Australia that included 2 international and 6 domestic flights. I've primarily used it as a carry on and never have been challenged by any airline for the size of the bag. I've found it fits best in overhead bins with the wheels out. The soft side/top of the bag makes it easy to squash into carry on space and less likely to be damaged on the few times that I check the bag.
For me, it's a perfect combination of durability, light weight, and generous size. I saw some reviewers want the bag to be just a tad smaller to be sure it will pass all airlines' rules. But that extra 3/4" makes a big difference to me. I often carry a tripod and some other long items that won't fit easily in most carry on bags, but they fit in this bag. And I like the side pockets - I use one for my "3-1-1" bag, which simplifies security lines.
My two complaints with the bag are that it doesn't have internal cinch straps or an "add-a-bag" strap. Those seem like obvious and very basic features. I bought a extra bag strap that I loop through the soft grab handle on the top - it has worked okay for 3 years, but I imagine I'll probably wear out the fabric on that handle sooner than necessary.
My current bag is still in great shape, but I'm getting bored with the black, so I've been searching for a second bag as an alternate. I've been briefly attracted by features on other bags - expandable, laptop sleeve, etc. But I've ultimately passed on those bags and have come back to this one as the best balance of size, light weight, and features for me. So I just placed my order for the same bag in blue!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TheCousin Rolls over Ice and Snow
A recent journey home required us to drag our Carryalls up and down curbs, on and off buses, and over sidewalks and streets covered in snow and ice. I was afraid we might have damaged the wheels, but I can see that all three Carryalls are in excellent condition, and survived the trip much better than we did. They are also light enough that, even stuffed with clothing, they were below the 50 lb. maximum for airline travel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NorthernNights Rolling Pullman - Medium
We spent 3 weeks in Italy rolling this bag across just about every surface imaginable and it held up well. At time it would have been nice to have a bit bigger wheels to handle the cobbles but overall it did great. All the pockets were a very nice feature. We would have liked to have the zippers on the mesh pocket oriented "on top" with the top open. The way the zippers are now, the clothes kind of dump out because the zipper opens on the bottom edge. One other thing we found out, similar to another person's comments was that the bag is a tad over 22." This caused a problem on British Air since the bag did not fit the carry on test frame BA uses. No matter how we tried to cram it, we couldn't get it in because of the rigid plastic frame. Just shave 3/4" off or so and it would be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Valeroo Great for business travel
I purchased this bag about 6 months ago and use it regularly for business and personal travel. Even though it's small, you can fit a surprisingly large amount of stuff in it. Love all the side and front pockets. Great to stuff books, water bottle or other small items in. Keeps business attire in place and wrinkle free. Super light for hoisting into overhead bins and sturdy enough for airline travel.
