Rated 5 out of 5áby HowdidIgetthisold Best Travel Bag Ever
I can't say enough good things about this bag. I've had it for at least five years now and it goes everywhere with me, whether it's a long weekend or a quick overnight. It's easy for this grandma to carry onboard and lift into the overhead compartments. The huge shoe pocket fits my exercise shoes or my low hiking shoes, keeping the profile of the bag low so it can fit into those compartments without shoe bulk on top. If you're traveling really light, the other side pocket has handy inner compartments for passport, credit cards, wallet, etc.
After years of trying different bags, this is the one for me. What sold me on it in the first place was LL Bean's video about how their wheels are constructed.
The ONLY negative - and it's a only problem because of my lack of planning - is that once the buckles and handles are secured, you have to open them up to get to the inside of the bag.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Seminole88 Still Great after Years of Travel
I have had this three-piece set in green for a number of years. It has held up beautifully on lots of trips by air or in the car, and my grown children have frequently borrowed the set for cruise vacations. The zippers and wheels are still in working order. When not in use, the smaller pieces nest inside the larger ones, so it takes up very little storage space.

I love this luggage set!! I bought the set over 10 years ago. I am a frequent traveler and wanted something that worked and also, I could spot at luggage claim among all the other bags (I have the Red).
May favorite things:
1. You can stuff an amazing amount of clothing in it and with it's light weight, you can get it under any 50 lb checked limit.
2. The medium bag is perfect for my weekly travel to work. It holds everything I need and with the inside and outside straps, nothing shifts (for those of you looking for wrinkle free, well, I haven't found a bag yet that you can stuff and it arrives wrinkle free - That is what irons are for.
3. The medium bag fits in the overheads of the planes (even some of the smaller ones, with its soft sides it squishes quite well.
4. The small bag has a nice top pocket to put drinks, food etc. which won't leak onto other items as it is a seperate lined section. It is also a nice size (square# with many pockets for ipod, ipad, magazines etc.
1. The large bag tends to tip forward
2. The nylon over the plastic corners does tend to tear #medium bag#, however it never became a problem as it did not continue. The bag stayed durable, though a bit frayed.
3. I also like to place a bag on top and this bag does not allow you to do that, but it is a duffle and that isn't a normal design requirement.
4. The small bag should have outside sleeve to slide over the handle of a larger bag.
I am on my second medium bag. This is only due to a bag can just take so much abuse then it finally gives up #though it does still work, just worn out)
I would highly recommend this set as it is functional, lightweight, durable for the frequent traveler and offers a nince selection of colors.

Rated 1 out of 5áby limerickgal70 Unstable, doesn't roll well
Bought this for my trip I was ready
But the wheels are too small and unsteady
And when I rolled o'er a stick
This thing totally flipped
And it made a big mess on the jetway

Rated 5 out of 5áby ESL1 Going strong. Bought a second one.
It's a duffle, so it's not the same as a rigid case. If you don't like duffles, you probably won't be happy. Tends to bulge outward when packed full. Side handle would be useful but not practical with the side pockets, which I really like. No problem packing for a week long trip. Light weight. Love the way the top opens. Easier to pack than most other duffles. Putting another case on top will tend to "crush" the top, but what do you expect with a soft case? Only thing I really don't like is that the outside top zipper compartment is basically inaccessible with the cross straps tightened. I usually fly on the smaller planes so it's been gate checked many times and never had any wear and tear issues. Going strong.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Ficelle Love the Color and Style
The medium rolling duffle is very easy to get around with and lift into the overhead; pretty good capacity; and I just love the color (green with orange trim) and style. Very cool and low-key. I wish they would use this material for more items. The zippers work fine, you just have to be a little careful. I'm going to get the extra-large as well.
Originally I bought the matching messenger bag, but it was very poorly designed (no outside back pocket; the cover flap would not lay flat when opened to the back; no way to just stick your magazine in easily without opening the whole thing), so I returned it. But they should try it again, in this fabric. A messenger bag is more functional (for me) than the squarish carry-on bag that comes in the set.

Rated 5 out of 5áby coolgirl9 great carryon luggage ever
It is amazing how much you can load staff to the 22x14x10 carry on, we will go to Europe for 16 days, the carry on can load 14 days of clothes and 3 pairs of light shoes. My daughter and I will only use this carryon and small backpack. I would highly recommend this carry on, I bought 3 of them

I purchased one of these in 1999 for traveling for work and weekend get a ways. I've used it hard for 15 years. Its time for a replacement now as the main zipper and the front pocket zipper have worn out. Other than that the case itself is in great condition.
Love this bag. Plus often get compliments on it.

Rated 2 out of 5áby ProbablyBeenThere Afraid to check it
I've been an enthusiastic user of LL Bean duffles for many years, and in most respects this has been the best of all. As advertised, it's extremely easy to load, it stands upright unless the load is unbalanced, and the handle/roller system is excellent. Capacity is very good, but that may contribute to an issue (see below). It is not like every other bag, so it's easy to spot on a carrousel.
As others have observed, this duffle is wider than other luggage, so there's a slight learning curve in maneuvering it, and indeed you cannot stack another bag on it to free up a hand.
On balance, this is still my favorite big bag ever except that...
in five trips as checked luggage this duffle has arrived damaged twice. In both cases, the bag was full, but not overloaded, weighing in at under 40 pounds.
One time, the internal stitching failed, and what appeared on the carrousel was a floppy bag too unbalanced to roll, and definitely not ready to be checked again. On the up side, the contents were fine and Beans replaced the bag. I've been careful to be sure to secure the internal straps when using the replacement, just in case that contributes to bag integrity.
On our most recent trip, the fabric and foam padding on one edge was breached. Contents were OK this time too, and a local shoe shop has repaired the bag at little cost. That could have happened to almost any luggage, but the bottom and edge material of this duffle is not as sturdy as the rest of the bag and does not compare well with my conventional LL Bean duffles.
I'm thinking that the unconventional dimensions that make this duffle so easy to pack and unpack might make it less than a favorite for baggage handlers. I'll keep using it for car travel, but am on the lookout for a sturdier solution for flying.

Rated 2 out of 5áby maineshopgirl Has some design flaws
We loved this set when we first got it and were impressed with how much the luggage holds. The disappointment came when we had it fully packed and ready to go to the airport. When fully loaded, the rolling bags don't stand up without tipping forward. Also, the tops of the rolling bags are drastically sloped forward so you can't stack a smaller bag on top (leaning against handles). Lastly, with so many straps, airline folks and porters are prone to lifting it up by one of the compression straps vs. the handles. Over time, there's concern this will cause damage.
After using these bags for two trips, we returned it because of the tipping problem and sloped top. In our opinion, they're very frustrating flaws that we're not willing to live with.
