Rated 1 out of 5 by NorthernStar Difficult to pack and unpack
This duffel rolls fine, has good handles & shoulder strap. But the one thing I really dislike is the zipper that goes straight across the length of the bag. It is very difficult to pack the bag and take advantage of the interior space. I wish it had a U shaped zipper on top. This would make it possible to actually access what's inside, and not have to pull everything out piece by piece to get what you want. Because it's so difficult to pack and unpack I think I will have to return it. Very disappointed as I paid the higher price for this bag thinking I could trust LLBean, but not being able to access the interior of your bag makes for a very poorly designed travel bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TheRRT Needs to stand up
A well made bag, good wheels, pulls easy. I've never had a problem using the medium as a carry on. The only complaint that I have is that this bag will not stand up. WHY? Very difficult to do anything that requires one to let go of the suitcase such as pay for something or use the restroom.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BlueSilk Needs some upgrades
I have owned this bag for several years and have made several cross-country and over-seas trips with it, and it definitely has seen some wear and tear - rips to the fabric, straps ripped off, scuff marks, etc. I do wish it the fabric was a little more durable.
My biggest complaint about this product however is that it does not stand up on its own, so you have to lay it on the ground every time you have to let go of it to use both hands for something. It really needs footrests to allow it to stand on its own, hands free. It also has a tendency to be top-heavy and falls over easily when rolling; a wider wheelbase would be nice too. This duffle is definitely too cumbersome for airline travel or when you have to roll it any great distance.
On a positive note, you can pack a ton of stuff inside!
I would not buy this product again unless there were some upgrades to the support system of the product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bobbetraveler Poor Quality
I bought this bag for my husband as a replacement to a well-used similar rolling duffel by LLBean. This one is cheap and the quality inferior to the old one. There are no outside pockets for shoes, paper, files, etc. Even the monogram is cheesy and small despite being the same type face as the old one. If this is an austerity measure to cut back on costs, I am not a fan. I think I will begin to shop elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mamagug Love the bag!
We bought two of these for our kids to use several years ago -- our intention was to use for airline travel, but we've found that these are considered oversized (by about 4 inches) on nearly all airlines (Southwest and Delta for sure)... That being said, we have used them on flights and they've held up wonderfully. I think they're easy to pack and so roomy! Happy with the quality, just wish we could take them without having to worry about them being oversized! And we actually liked them so well that we just bought two more of the "large" size -- the wheels make it so easy to maneuver an otherwise heavy bag, and I feel like they're easy to manage and a little easier to fit all of them into a rental car as opposed to suitcases.

This is a very durable product; however, it is missing footrests on the end to keep the bag from resting on the ground. It would be a perfect rolling duffle if it had those rests when standing it up. As a pilot, it is necessary to have a stable piece of luggage that is easily handled without getting the end wet with jet fuel or water. I still recommend this duffle if you want to carry it like one. But to roll it and stand it on end is a no go.

I used this duffle one time and it kept tipping over on it's top at the airport and was very wobbly and tipped side to side when walking through the airport. It is going back, sorry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Traveler01 Roller Duffle
I purchased this product as a replacement for a LL Bean duffle I have had for years. The construction of the new rolling duffel was something I would expect from a discount retailer not LL Bean. I sent it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by drbeth It is what it is, and it is great
No, when fully packed it does not stand upright. Nothing will stay neatly pressed when packed inside. But for what it is and does, it is terrific. This is my second one? the first one, an extra large that I bought ten years ago and traveled with me all over the ? was confiscated by my daughter when she went overseas for a year and then to college. It is still in terrific shape? stitching, and fabric all intact except for a small hole that appeared about seven years ago when I retrieved it from an airport luggage ramp but which has never frown larger. This one, which I bought two months ago and have already taken to Europe and Asia, is of the same quality? I can discern no difference in the quality, heft and resilience of the fabric and stitching. It can always absorb one more thing, useful when you buy too many gifts when on a vacation. For me it is the perfect vacation bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SailorH Collapsible, roomy bag for road trips or boats.
This bag would be good for road trips. It is roomy and does have wheels. However, the material is not as durable as I had hoped. After the first flight to Europe it was very scratched, and I worry about it tearing every time I check it on a plane. (It is too big to be a carry-on).
I opted for the yellow one and though I really like the color, it is now marked and looks older than only 6 months. Admittedly, I use it more than the average customer.
The wheels and frame are relatively lightweight, which is good, but they do feel slightly flimsy for such a big bag. It's tippy to maneuver when it's full. Obviously if you need a bag of this size, it's because you'll be putting a lot in it. On my last plane trip it weighed 49.5 lbs.
Because there is only one big compartment, it's tough to rummage through and find what you need quickly.
I work on boats, so I pretty much live out of my luggage. This bag appeals to me because it is collapsible and doesn't take up much space to store on the boat.
This bag seems less durable than one I have from a different brand, but it is also less than half the price-- which is maybe fair enough. Overall a decent big bag, but I am concerned about durability for such extensive traveling as I am doing.
