Rated 3 out of 5 by travelourroad disappointed in the medium rolling duffle
I have always wanted one of these so was delighted when a great sale was offered. I must admit I am disappointed. The pattern (nautical blue tropical print) is very nice. I am disappointed with the size as I thought it would be compatible with my carry-on size for plane travel. It does not even hold as much as the more common and smaller European carry-on size bags. Also, since the top of the bag is tapered or rounded, the capacity is greatly diminished and accessibility into the bag is not that great and frustrating. I recently went on a weekend trip and it sufficed for that. Because of its light weight design, I had hoped this would hold more. I pack very light and smartly and can live three weeks out of a very small, unexpanded, rolly, but this will not fit the bill. This doesn't hold much more than a jumbo backpack As mentioned from others, these rollies do not stand up on their own. Because of the bargain price on the sale and because I use various styles of luggage, I will keep it. Durability will not be determined until I put it through its paces.

Rated 4 out of 5 True teal is REALLY BRIGHT TEAL
SoI the bag came and had my monogram on it just as I had asked for. However, I ordered the true real color since the picture made it look like a gorgeous slate blue and it is SUPER SUPER bright 12 year old girl teal. I suppose I can get used to it but it will definitely not match my other ll bean bag. That being said, the only complaint I have is the color and the bag is great, everything else I'd hoped for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Trekker87 Ripped on first trip
Granted it is a small hole, but the first time I used the large adventure rolling duffle it developed a tear/rip at the bottom where the "reinforced" fabric covered the plastic base. I believe the corner of the bag caught on a curb and tore. Though customer service is replacing the bag, I expected higher quality from my LLBean product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by KincardinePair hard to lock
all in all I have no problem with the construction , material or design of this duffle . However I bought it with the intention of using it as checked baggage and found there is no real place to place a lock on the main compartment except by using the zipper tabs and there is no way at all to lock the side compartment . Note the much cheaper much weaker no name duffle it is replacing did have places for a lock .

Rated 4 out of 5 by likeBeanproducts Adventure Rolling Duffle - Large
Good travel bag. Holds a lot. Rolls easily. Only problem I've had is that the bag won't stand up on it's own. Makes it difficult to move through long check in lines in the airport. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the rolling duffle bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TheTallSwede Large and easy to handle
This duffel fits plenty into it, but airports seem to have a problem processing it (maybe it gets stuck in conveyors?). I have never still seen the luggage tag on it when it arrives at baggage claim and have had it lost multiple times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ali2811 Such a great bag
I bought this XL rolling duffle eight years ago - monogrammed and in a now discontinued ice blue color. Along with clothing, it has been stuffed to the gills with sea shells, snow boots, books and even a rug. Despite checking it dozens of times, the zippers and wheels and fabric are as perfect as the day I received it, even with its numerous baggage-handling battle scars. In a distinct color, it's always easy to find on the baggage carousel and stores flat when not in use. As far as comments re the shortcomings - not standing up hasn't been a problem as I've learned to lean it against something if I need to, it's been waterproofed with a snow boot spray and we always use nylon packing cubes inside to keep things contained and wrinkle-free. It has had many great adventures with me and is an unbeatable bag at this price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 4goods Just bought our 3rd one
We have two of these rolling duffles and just ordered our third. We decided that luggage with an absolute return policy was a good idea for our college-bound kids, knowing they will take only slightly better care than airline handlers. After three years and dozens of overseas planes, trains, autos, and buses, that first bag is still going strong. The zippers, fabric, handles, and wheels are all reliably sturdy. We've had the same experience with our newer one, which led us to order another when we recently replaced less forgiving (and more expensive) luggage from a well-established suitcase company.
When you see this bag on a luggage carousel the owners will always smile and say, "Great bag." Cuz they know we know.
We did have a sticking pull-out handle issue which was corrected with WD 40, per suggestion by LL Bean customer service. We could have returned it (and maybe we'll need to in the future) but I love the retired fabric design. So far the fix is working and the bag keeps on rolling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LuggageLover Super large capacity, light weight
My family of four use the Extra-Large Adventure Duffle exclusively for our luggage. We have traveled all over the world with it. We each own one and can fit everything we need for a 2-3 week vacation in them. The only problem we have with them is they last 1-2 years at most- that's about 12-16 flights. They then develop holes in the fabric or the plastic base around the wheel breaks. I have searched extensively for another large capacity, light weight, rolling duffle bag. These are the largest capacity duffle available With LL Beans's policy they replace them if they break or we pay for a new one for $109.95- a bargain!
Pros- Super large capacity
Great quality wheels
Cons- Not water proof
Does not stand upright

Rated 3 out of 5 by AdventureWoman2 needs to stand up
Durable fabric...rolls great...but it won't stand up and that loses two stars. Its just a big hole for packing anything! I've traveled domestic and international with it. But when it wears out - I am going to find a rolling duffle bag that stands up.
