Rated 5 out of 5 by PinkStreaks Awesome duffel
We bought 4 of these to take on a 2-week trip to Europe. We must have dragged them up and down dozens of staircases in about 8 different train stations and subway stations, not to mention the hotels with no elevators... and rolled them several miles through stations and walking from stations to hotels.
They held up beautifully. They are sturdy, attractive (the bright colors make them easy to spot in an airport baggage claim), and stable when rolling (though I recommend packing heavier items at the bottom where the wheels are). The telescoping handle is easy to get up and down, and the duffel can be pulled by either the telescoping handle or the fabric handle depending on the situation (fabric is easier up stairs...)
The large is big enough for enough clothes and so on for a two-week trip using compression bags, without being unwieldy - we got them up onto overhead luggage racks in trains fully packed without too much trouble.
Just a great, tough, versatile piece of luggage for a great price.

I got an Adventure Rolling Duffle XL, travelled to Australia with this bag 3 times and to Europe 5 times, after the last trip the bag got stuck in a Airport luggage transport and ripped part of the plastic around the bottom side. Brought it back to US and got a replacement from LLB no charge. The new one is a bit different but is still travelling, again 4 times to Europe and sustained heavy duty work (travelling in trains all over central Europe) and looks like new. The bag is a bit heavy.

Bought three sizes to take on a cruise. They were on sale, so I purchased the print, which was not too pretty. But it was a lesson well learned. I saw my luggage right away when we disembarked the ship--print was so easy to find. There are many black suitcases out there. The passengers were wandering around looking for theirs. I spotted mine immediately. Packed so much. Only improvement would be that they stand up without falling over. Put the 2 inside the extra large and was perfect fit under bed in small cabin. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ezlivinginvt WOW - VERY IMPRESSED
I purchased this rolling large duffle to help move my son's clothing to his college dorm. It was a last minute thought. I called upon a Monday and he would be moving in on Friday. I did want it personalized (due to possible theft) but worried about the time crunch. I could pay additional for a rush delivery (but I am frugal and hated the thought). I decided to chance it since he would be coming home in a week for a 3 day weekend and worse come to worse we would just pack a weeks worth of clothes on the initial move in and the remainder after his break. Remember I ordered this on a Monday. I was told it would arrive Friday or possible the next Tuesday. I have always been impressed with delivery from LLBean. I RECIEVED THIS THEE NEXT DAY- TUESDAY! PERSONALIZED! Outstanding service, quality was as expected ~ great! THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL (PERSONALIZED) SERVICE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AmyGuz This is HUGE!!!
I bought the extra-large rolling duffle in Ice Blue a couple of years ago and I love it. I've taken it on several trips and it is large enough to take clothes for a family of 4, plus store a lap top and a family size toiletry bag with plenty of room left over, especially if you use packers. There does seem to be a slight pulling of one of the seems but I think this was due to my son trying to yank it out of the car without moving what was on top first. The different colors and the option to have the name stitched on it is nice too to help keep up with your luggage. The only downside, and it's only a slight one, is that the duffle will not stand up fully loaded and can tip the wheels a little when rolling it. Otherwise the wheels work very well. I bought another duffle today in Hot Coral in medium without the wheels to use for just myself on smaller trips and have no doubt that it will work just as well.

Bought this case for our teenage daughter. We figured since it came from LLBean it would hold up for quite a while. While the outside of this case still looks great, the interior white coating on the fabric is sloughing off completely in small flakes. This causes a snow storm every time you open the bag. It is all over the clothes... disgusting. Needless to say, our daughter is searching for new luggage. Absolutely unsatisfactory performance for a bag from LLBean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ducatirider58 Huge, tough and rolls easy! Holds a ton of stuff!
I used this duffel to haul all of my motorcycle gear to Spain for a week long motorcycle trip through the Pynenees. It is so big I could put two riding suits, a helmet, boots, and gloves - plus it had room for my large Bean duffel inside which contained all of my regular clothes, with room to spare. It was easy to meet airline weight restrictions, I just removed the smaller bag from inside and used it as a carry on. It has external straps that can be used to lash on other luggage, a jacket, etc. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is that it is not free standing, has no internal compartments or straps and is not very water resistant. It is tough though, heavy nylon fabric construction and has reinforcement strips in back so it can be dragged over curbs, stairs, etc. The telescoping handle is well made, plus has other handles for easy manuvering. This is the best luggage purchase I have ever made and cannot imagine having made this last trip without it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by RVAwalker Adventure Rolling Duffle
This duffle is advertised as suitable for use as carry-on luggage. A word to the wise: it will not meet any dimension of the Delta Airlines carry on bag check bin. Too long, too wide, and too tall! It would not fit in the overhead bins on a Brazilian-made regional jet. Fortunately, Delta allowed us to check these bags at the counter, without our incurring the $25 per leg checked bag fee. It would have fit in a 737-800 overhead bin, but just barely, and not if overstuffed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RVAwalker Extra-Large Rolling Duffle
As checked luggage, this duffle is strongly constructed. It is NOT waterproof, however. When United Airlines left our bags in the rain upon arrival handover from SAS at third-world Dulles airport, everything inside was soaked. Unlike other rolling bags, you cannot stand this bag on end, making it a bit hard to handle on intercity trolleys and on escalators. The skateboard wheels are of high quality, making it easy to roll. My advice to buyers would be to bag everything in plastic trash bags when packing the duffle, and to avoid flying United Airlines!

Rated 4 out of 5 by AlreadyTakenReally Conditional recommendation
I've traveled for years to Europe and other places with only a carry on travel pack and a camera backpack. My wife and I went to the UK in April and I took this as a checked bag because I carried on two camera bags.
Due to the size of this bag and the size of my wife's luggage, which was also a roller bag, we had to get a much larger rental car (a Fiat 500L which I would not recommend) than the one we originally reserved. Even with the much more expensive rental car it was a tight fit getting both of our bags into the small trunk. We used the back seat for camera bags and another suitcase.
My wife and I are both keeping our rolling bags but we won't take them to Europe if we're getting a rental car.
So I might recommend this bag depending on how you're traveling. If you're traveling from home by car and have the space for it, it's fine. If you're traveling by air and/or renting a small car, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
