Large enough for your shaving tackle, toothbrush and a change of clothes. Small enough to fit the overhead compartment of even the least-accommodating airline.

I wrote a review of these duffles 7 years ago when I bought several of the large and extra large for my son, who was going away to college. He still has them and they are in great shape, so I recently ordered 2 medium duffles for my husband and me. We take lots of weekend trips and these are the perfect size! They are easy to carry and hold plenty of stuff. I highly recommend them!

Indestructible carry-all for college stuff. Then while it is empty, easily stowed away until moving again. I have given these extra-large duffles with a monogram as gifts for anyone that moves frequently, especially students. And I use them for storage (bedding, seasonal clothes). Outside pocket is handy for a list of what's inside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SD814 Color is not true, but great otherwise!
We just received four of these large bags for our upcoming trip. All are fabulous, but I ordered the True Teal because of how it looked online. When it arrived, it was a bit more vibrant of a teal color (and resembled the Makita tools, which my husband uses.... so that's all I could associate the bag with) I was hoping for a more subtle teal, so I've ordered a new color.
Space wise these bags appear to hold a large amount, and appear to be rugged! With LL Beans guarantee, I am excited to have purchased these bags for all members of our family and plan to use them for the next stages of our lives.

This is an extremely durable bag, I do not usually check a bag when I go on a trip, instead I cram everything into my carry on, this makes for a heavy bag as it is usually a week long trip. Therefore being so heavy, and me being lazy I resort to dragging it as I did non get the wheeled one in an effort to save weight and space in the overhead compartments (big mistake). Regardless, my bag has been dragged throughout many airports around the country and through the streets of Chicago and also through many camping trips but thanks to its black bottom it doesn't look filthy (I got the pink one) and there isn't a single tear on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boston310 Small Adventure Duffle - Holds More Than You Think
I recently wrote a review on the Medium Duffle which has already been posted on the web site. But I forgot to write a review on the small Adventure Duffle that I had purchased a bit earlier. I use the small duffle as a gym bag and I have been very pleased with it. It is sturdy and well built and can hold all the items that I take to the gym. But I have used the bag ecently for overnight trips and the bag can actually hold more than you may realize. Recently I used the bag for a weekend trip and I was able to pack a couple of days clothing in the bag and everything did fit...but the weather was mild so I did not have to pack extra clothing as I would during the winter. One fact that I forgot to mention on the original review are the cinch straps that I have used on both bags. The cinch straps can be adjusted if you are not packing either bag to capacity.By tightening the cinch straps, the clothing in the bag will not shift as much while traveling and as I found out, it reduces the amount of wrinkling of the garments. Also by tightening the cinch straps on the small bag....the bag can be made smaller in size...and therefore much easier to store under seats on an airplane. All in all, two great bags

I bought 3 of these for my family 8 years ago and we have used them on every trip since then - they have gone on planes, in cars, camping, and on school bus trips. They still look brand new and the zippers are in fantastic condition. We take them everywhere. I would buy them again - except I don't think I will ever need to! Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boston310 Medium Adventure Duffle - Great Travel Item....
I have been using a small Adventure Duffle for a gym bag and have been pleased with it. . A few months ago, I acquired tendonitis at the gym in my right knee and I have to walk with a cane for about a few months. I travel frequently to NYC on Amtrak and I was looking for a bag that was lightweight but could carry a decent amount of clothing for a few days. I have previously purchased luggage from LL Bean that I have had for over 15 years (Wide Mouth Duffle, expandable Gear bag, etc. ) that I still have and use and they have held up well. But traveling with a cane, I wanted a light weight bag, so I purchased the medium Adventure Duffle and am very pleased with it. For one thing, it an carry a lot of clothing and with a reinforced bottom, the bag does not sag. I like the comfort strap as it makes carrying the bag easy on the shoulder. The cross-over straps secure the contents which is good. The bag, like the smaller version, has side handles on each side ....making it very easy to lift to put on an overhead compartment on the train or in the trunk of a car. All in all - it has been a great bag for traveling.

Truth be told, I was expecting thicker fabric. But it was still durable and well-made. If the strap was adjustable, that would be nice. The color, Blue Iris, is shown as a pretty lavender. It arrived a dark purple, which was extremely disappointing. It has plenty of room, and Audrey likes it :)

Honestly, one of the best practical purchases I've ever made. Excellent quality and construction and it actually fits more than you initially expect. Very stylish and would make a great gift for any traveler.
