Rated 5 out of 5áby Duckwhisperer Rain Pants
These are perfect! I bought them for snow pants to wear to the barn, so obviously fashion is not an issue, but I wore them today in -10 temps with a windchill of -25 with only sweatpants under them and stayed warm and dry. I am 5ft. 5 in. and weigh 105 and a Med Reg fits perfectly with room for either jeans or heavy sweats under them. You couldn't sneak up on anything wearing these as they make a slight rustling noise when you walk but it didn't seem to bother my critters. Elastic in the pants leg hems would make them even better but the fabric is light enough I can tuck them into the tops of my muck boots. These will replace my heavy winter coveralls. Highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5áby Capespinner Great but stowaway pocket should be in front
I'm 5'2" and 127 lb. and live in Massachusetts. I bought the petite medium and the length and fit are perfect. I can fit lightweight long underwear and sweat pants under these pants. However, I need to make sure to put my hiking boots on after I put these pants on. Also, the stowaway pocket should be in the front. It is a huge pocket but totally useless when in the back. I use these pants for walking in winter and kayaking in spring and fall. Move the pocket to the front and maybe add another one on the other side of the front and I would give them 5 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5áby bucketlistbound Not on the trail
I hoped these pants had leg zippers for putting these on while on the trail (and in your boots). I ended up returning these. These are probably great if you start out with them on, but I don't see that you can put them on while on a hike.

Fit perfectly over my jeans. Haven't completely tested how waterproof they are! Love the adjustable waist. Wish they had pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Wiredachie Comes in short pants length
I tried on a lot of rain proof pants and LLBean won because of their sizing. No hemming as the pants came in reg or short lengths. These are comfortable and big enough to wear warm pants underneath. Pockets would be a plus. The fabric is not stiff or scratchy. I plan to wear these to football games in the Fall and on a Norway cruise in Aug. It rains a lot in Norway.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Drummerlady Great except around the ankles
I am 5'1" and weigh 110 lbs, and I ordered the Sm-Petite. The hip fit is excellent, and I can wear them comfortably with or without jeans/long pants underneath. I liked the comfort of the mesh lining, even against bare skin. However, there is an annoying problem around the shin area. Inside the pant legs, where the mesh lining attaches to the smooth lining, my shoes caught in the material, even though I had the zipper and snap unfastened, as is intended. (Normally, I would remove shoes before putting these on, but I know the rain pants are designed with zippered/Velcro ankle openings for the purpose of pulling them on over long pants and shoes, if needed.) Also, the lower pant legs, especially in someone my height, blouse the material around the ankles. I solved this "flare" problem by removing each pant leg snap and replacing it with a sew-on large snap that allows me to fasten the overlapping tab to its matching snap bottom at a point 7" outward from the zipper. Yes, this causes some foldover of material, but it is far preferable to having so much extra fabric hanging down over my shoes. I'm fully aware that few customers would go to this extreme, so I am hoping that by mentioning it, LL Bean will consider an adjustment in the design so that we shorties can wear these otherwise wonderful rain pants without having them drag on the ground or "swish" noisily as we walk.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Sewkarenann Chunky fit
These were a great price for a Gortex pant. As usual, the cut is very generous through the seat, as with most LL Bean sizing. The waist fit well, but seat and thigh are extra generous. I also would have liked some ankle tabs for winter bike riding (as this is what they were purchased for) Will be a good all purpose winter sport pant for skiing and biking with a warm underlayer.

Rated 4 out of 5áby luvstotravel Waterproof!
The pants do what it states it does, keeps you dry. However, they are longer than I wish they were (I'm 5'5"). I had to pull them up well over my waist. If you are looking to be dry and attractive this is not the pair for you. But who looks good in rain pants anyway? :o)

Rated 4 out of 5áby phalks POCKETS?!?
These would be the best-ever waterproof pants for me IF THERE WERE POCKETS! Come on, LLBEAN, put some pockets in!!! I have a pair that I've worn sailing for six years....and as soon as you put pockets on/in them, I'll buy two more pairs!

Rated 4 out of 5áby Bbrown0716 These pants Survived an Alaskan summer in the bush
I purchased these pants before I went to work in the Alaskan bush for the summer of 2013. We were about 10 miles from the Bering Sea in Goodnews Bay, AK., 500 miles west of Anchorage. Although we had "nice weather," it rained, A LOT. I wore these pants 4-5 times a week all day for 3 months and never had a rip, tear, or leak. I did however give these pants a 4 because they are lacking front pockets.
On a side note, I went up to Goodnews Bay to work at a fishing lodge and had the pleasure of going to the village a couple times a week. The Yupik natives let me in their homes and I sold native artwork at the lodge. While looking around their homes I notice almost every pair of boots, shoes, jackets and outerwear were from llbean. I asked them why they bought from llbean and they said great quality, free shipping, and friendly customer service.
Being from Vermont and having the same opinion as they, I started to identify myself as "being from New England, the same area as llbean" when the natives asked where I was from. It worked and was a great conversation piece. If this clothing is tough enough for extreme arctic winters, it is tough enough for any conditions in the lower 48.
