Rated 5 out of 5 by carriagedriver Perfect for horseback riding
I bought this vest to carry the many items I like to have when trail riding, but don't want to tie to my saddle. There are plenty of pockets for cell phone, keys, lip balm, trail maps. Vest is attractive and comfortable. I chose the lighter color fearing that black might be too hot in the Texas sun, so it does show the inevitable dirt which surrounds horses. This would be a great item for travelers, with all the pockets you won't need a handbag.

I actually bought 3 different safari vests because I could not find one that looked exactly as I wanted. LLBean's vest came sooooo close to perfection! The other two vests were not at all close to LLBean's quality or authentic durability!
It is somewhat feminine and very practical and has all the strength of a true safari vest. Thank you so much for always coming through with a great buy!

I bought this for my next trip and decided to test it out. I must say this is very nice. Lots of pockets for everything, when I am running out I can put the car papers in a pocket and forget the purse.
I like to carry my important stuff on me and this serves that purpose. I have used this every time I went out since it came. It will go great over my t-shirts this summer so I don't need a bag.
I would have liked it even more if one of the interior pockets had a zipper. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I bought one for my sister.

My husband has has the men's vest for years, so I decided that I would get one also. Using my measurements, I decided to order the medium size vest. Finding it not roomy enough for wearing over heavier clothing, I sent it back and ordered the large. It seems OK but still is not roomy. I know that I will get lots of use from it. For travel and outings I love the many pockets and inside pockets for keepings important things safe yet accessible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FinnieGirl Comfortable; fits good; love the color.
Purchased this vest for a trip overseas. Ordered one size up so it would be compfortable on me with a sweater/sweatshirt. Love all the pockets so I wont have to carry a pocket book on the tour. Great quality and the shape is feminine looking. Only draw back might be it's a little heavier then I thought it would be, but overall very well made and am pleased with it.

I just received my Women's LL Bean Traveler Vests (both colors) yesterday. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with them. The quality is exceptional. I will be wearing them either over a t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt. They fit just the way that I wanted them to ... they are very comfortable ... they look great. Oh, and my husband said they are 'classy-looking'! I got the vests for a very specific reason, and they will serve my purpose well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Skorpion Like Wearing Your Purse!
Love this vest! It's quite substantial - well-constructed and made with quality materials. Has loads of convenient, evenly-distributed pockets for anything you might need while away from "home base." I purchased it to use on an African Safari, but it would be excellent for hiking or camping as well. It's a little large on me, but comfortable, and there are buttons to adjust the waist area. The vest, which I purchased in the khaki color, easily accommodates a wallet, camera, (and a handy lens-wipe is attached inside one of the pockets), passport, chapstick, tissues, anti-bacterial gel, bug spray, pocket knife, etc. Handy to have all of those items in one place when going through airport security. The only drawback---and only slightly ----is that it becomes somewhat weighty once the pockets are full---but compare that to carrying a bag or backpack and it all evens out. I highly recommend this vest to anyone who needs a durable and attractive way to carry your personal items. No doubt it will last a lifetime!

I am planning on going on my second pilgrimage soon and this travel vest has all the pockets I am looking for. It is true to size and the color is neutral so I can wear almost any color underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Starshine2 Nice vest with Lots of Pockets
This vest is just what I was looking for to wear everywhere on a 3-week cross-cultural seminar "over the pond." The fabric is a nice weight. The inside is well finished. The khaki color is a nice khaki color, not yellowish. I like the numerous pockets. My Kindle will JUST fit in the largest inside pocket ... without its protective case. I would like to fit the Kindle in the pocket INSIDE its protective case. This same pocket is BARELY if at all big enough width-wise for an IPad mini, without any protective cover figured in, and the IPad mini would stick out at the top about 2 inches. As I am a seamstress, I may "operate" and add a nice padded Kindle pocket. Although LLBean is usually generously sized, this vest runs slightly small ... with a bust of 40C, which on the size chart says "L", I ordered an XL. It just fits, albeit attractively, and is not boxy. There is not much room for layering anything beyond a Tshirt or woven shirt underneath the vest. A sweater would push it a bit. Where I am going, this will not be a problem. I almost returned the vest because I found a competing product which said it had a nice inside pocket big enough for my Ipad, but decided to keep it because overall I liked Bean's vest better. LLBean, please fix the pocket sizes so they fit technology we think we can't live without! :-) This vest will enable me to get around carrying all my stuff while remaining essentially hands-free, which is just great! I only gave it 4 stars because of the pocket size issue.
