This vest is perfect for what I'm going to use it for. I take a lot of photographic day trips and with all the pockets, I can stuff them with all my accessories without carrying a backpack. I ordered this same vest a couple of years ago but it's too snug to zip but I still wear it. I decided to order the one in the logan color (which has a slight washed look) a size larger and it fits perfectly, even over a sweatshirt. Washes great in cold water, dry low heat and it's good to go. I might order the tan one if the price ever goes down.

Wish this came in petite sizes. I ordered the Large and it is a bit big and a little long waisted for me. I will need to take a tuck in the shoulders. Overall I am happy with the purchase. I walk everyday in the county park at the end of my street and it has lots to pockets for keys, a snack and my cell phone.

Very versatile, lots of pockets. I ordered M for my husband who is 6' and 155 lbs. Fits him perfectly.

What a nice looking vest. Really! It looks fabulous on me with my LLbean cord skirt and sweater. Ha! I bought this at full price as my old vest was shredding apart and I got tired of looking for suitable bargains. Sadly, I did not realise even though I had seen some of the reviews how useless it was, so I ordered a medium thinking (unwisely) that it would be roomier. How disappointing. Even without a thin sweater, if I want to reach the inside, presumably safer pocket that does not cover my phone completely, I would need to unzip and unbutton the vest. The slash pockets are indeed too narrow to easily get your hand in or out of. The inside pockets are too narrow, placed too low, shallow and the safety of the velcro is lost for anything larger than a few cards. If I took it off with my cell inside and wasn't careful it would fall out. Actually I know this as it did fall out. The outside pockets are too shallow for my phone to be safe except for the patch pockets but then I have an issue when I bend over and my phone jabs me. The lower patch pockets are barely gusseted so that the lens cleaning cloth creates a lump in a pocket that is too flat to look okay with a lump and it gets tangled in anything put in the pocket. I forgot it was there and put in change for the bus since the side pockets are so narrow as to be a joke and pulled out the cloth for my glasses and all the change went everywhere. I am not sure where I am supposed to put my glasses without them getting scratched since the upper pockets are shallow as well. There may be eleven pockets but in name only. Yes, if I don't put keys or my slender card case and my folded bills (money) and my reading glasses anywhere in the vest, I look swell. It is a miracle of bad design. Looking good with poor function is not good design. I got a medium for a thicker sweater and a handy place for things when I go shopping. I am 5'1' and 138 lbs with a small, pear shaped frame. My weight is coming down but this vest will never work even if I weighed far less which is too bad. I have tried, believe me. Did I mention the short side vents? I could go on but it will be easier to just return it. I may try a man's small but I will read the reviews most carefully.

I conceal carry so this vest is a great asset. It doesn't wrinkle heavily so I don't have to worry how I look if I just throw it on and run out for an errand. I'm really glad I purchased this vest! A great investment.

After considering several travel vests, I chose the Bean vest as it appeared to be the best suited for my needs. It has secure pockets on the outside as well as interior pockets. Some I looked at had pockets in inconvenient places or they were overkill with too many pockets for my purpose. Also, it is a good fit. I plan to use it while traveling but also for everyday errands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MissOxnard Traveler vest, both men and women
The vest is very well constructed with many, many pockets.
It was extremely hot to wear in hot climate, even thought it is made with breathable cotton and had a mesh backing. Perhaps a lighter weight sturdy fabric can be substituted for the cotton.
I would have preferred two fewer outside pockets and two more inside pockets. Unfortunately, pickpocketers are so skilled that they can unzip or unbutton pockets with ease, so outside pockets are not safe for valuables.
Fewer outside pockets in the women model would look more streamline.

This seems like a very nice, well-made vest. The fit was very loose. The pics online make it look more fitted than it is and I returned it because of that.

I found the Traveler Vest in green earlier in the year. I wear many vests and wanted something lighter for spring and cool summer days. The vest is well made and perfect for many purposes, not just traveling. I bought a second vest in khaki, as I couldn't find anything else I liked as well!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Valleygirl Fabric is too heavy for the Serengeti
I wanted a vest with lots of pockets for an African safari last February but this version was just too heavy and hot. Space was at a premium in my carry-on luggage as some of our flights on small planes in Tanzania only had room for carry-ons, and this was too bulky to merit taking up space at the expense of necessities. I may use this in the fall for hiking in North America, but it just does not work on the Serengeti. That said, I saw a photo of Princess Catherine wearing a similar vest and thought it made a functional fashion statement!
