I was hesitant to spend this much money on a vest, but I now have to carry oxygen with me all the time. Carrying a purse as well has become a burden. I'm now able to fill the pockets with all my essentials and a bit more.
I'm not about to go on a safari, but love the vest when shopping at the supermarket, going to craft shows and more. I really like the weight of it, though I have not worn it in the summer yet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MNTraveller No Deep Pockets :(
I bought this vest for travel. It's a Traveler Vest. I travel a lot and what I use most when I travel are inside pockets. Deep inside pockets that can take a small wallet, my passport, tickets (yes, some of us still use paper tickets!). I was actually hoping to be able to stop carrying a purse with this vest. This vest has not got a single pocket deeper than about 4 or 5 inches, and it has made very poor use of the inside of the garment which is where I want my most important pockets. L.L.Bean should have me design their Traveler Vest! Seriously. I do not think that this was designed by a traveler at all. Other than that it seemed like a very nice garment.

by horseladE Comfortable even when pockets are full
This vest is a comfortable way to keep small items handy when trail riding on horseback. The weight is well distributed on the shoulders intead of on the neck like another well known super pocket vest. I am 5'6" and 147 lbs and bought a large to have as much length as possible. I used the button tabs to take in the waist for a better fit. After washing, the fabric was a bit softer. I was able to press a nice crisp pleat at the tab, from back yoke to bottom hem, so it lays flat and neat. I use the front button tab closure more than the zipper closure while riding. I have relatively small hands, but a few of the pockets are a bit narrow at the opening. But the main front pockets are large enough for easy access to my phone. Having my phone, keys, chapstick, pocket knife, etc in the vest instead of pants pockets is also much more comfortable while riding or sitting. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CottageGardens Didn't know I've been looking for this a long time
How handy! I got it for weather that's too warm for my gardening jacket, but the pockets are even better, securing anything inside them as I move around. Washes and dries well too.
It also comes with a computer screen cleaner attached inside a pocket, a bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Time2Run Comfortable, functional and great fit
Bought this vest for a trip to Colorado for biking/and hiking. Has plenty of secure pockets and sturdy zipper. Very comfortable and had room enough to layer clothing underneath for warmth at higher elevations but did not look boxy when worn with just a tee shirt.

I researched vests for about a week looking for something I could wear on a hike or occasional horseback ride, and a clothing item I could attach an achievement patch to. Western vests do not have many pockets, so I chose this one. I usually wear a 6 so the small is a good fit with some room to wear over a sweater or polartec.
As other reviews mentioned it is well made and has pockets for everything so I will not need to carry a purse.

I love this vest! For a long time, I have been looking for a good alternative to uncomfortable hip packs for my daily long dog walks and hikes. This is just what I needed. I can carry my phone, keys, doggie bags, treats, snacks, and other minor necessities in total comfort. If it is a longer hike, I add a light camelback for water. Even on a hot day, it is loose and well-ventilated enough to be entirely comfortable. Also, I like how it falls just low-mid-hip - comfortable and flattering. I am a size 14 usually, and the large is just right for me - when I was slimmer for a bit, I even moved the side button straps to keep it nicely snug. I've washed it about five times now and it is keeping its shape and just getting softer. Not inexpensive, but a great investment - I expect to wear it for years!

The description related to size is off - if you are a size 12, definitely buy a medium and save yourself the hassle of a return. Also, the color is definitely NOT a dark loden green - it's more like a faded army/kaki green. The shape and cut are okay but the buttons on the pockets and waist are hard to navigate and the inside pockets are shallow. A disappointment.

Purchased this vest for hiking, gardening, and bird watching. There are lots of pockets for all your supplies. Made with nice high quality fabric, should last forever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DXRshopper Versatile Traveler Vest
I purchased this vest to use at home as well as when traveling. The number & location of the pockets are very good. I do a fair amount of volunteer work & don't like to carry a purse all of the time. This vest allows me to carry important items, such as my wallet, keys, tissues, and mobile phone easily and unobtrusively. The fit in the shoulders, abdomen & chest are good. A large-busted woman might be more comfortable in a larger size because the chest can be a bit tight. She would have to determine if shoulder & abdomin fit are more or less important than chest comfort. The only improvement I would like to see is to make the garment convertible from long-sleeve to vest. If detachable long sleeves were offered, the garment would be even more versatile as a windbreaker. One or both sleeves might have a pocket which closed with a zipper or Velcro. Overall, I like this vest very much.
