Rated 5 out of 5 by Houstonswimcoach Great Jacket
I have been shopping for a quality fleece jacket for fishing for the last four months. This jacket has all the features I was looking for. As both a stand alone jacket and a layering component under a rain jacket, you can't miss with this one. The velcro sleeves sealed the deal. They hold the sleeves in place while putting the rain jacket on, or taking it off. The zipper pockets keep items secure. You COULD buy another brand, but you'll spend a lot more, and get a lot less.

The main reason I returned it was because it wasn't warm at all. The arms had no insulation fleece and there was no draw strings at the bottom to keep wind out. I returned it.

Perfect match as a thermal layer under my gore-tex waterproof fishing raincoat for chilly spring days in the Colorado high country.
I also wear it alone as a light weight jacket while moving from one fishing spot to another.
And, it looks good enough to wear with the family at a restaurant.

Warm and comfortable
Sleeves need attention, the cuffs are not that comfortable

They fit like tailor made and work well with my waders and pants I purchased to go with them. I will get many years of use from these, they are LL Bean quality....

Looks like a perfect soft shell for underneath a rain shell. Cuffs are terrible, material is cheap and poorly constructed, it is light weight but not great in the wind. Odd fit for fly casting, material does stretch a bit but sleeves are just kind of weird. Not gonna stand up in the rockies!

Jacket is good quality ,as all Bean products. It a little light for really cold weather but can be layered. All in all I am well pleased.Paoli

Lightweight fleece not very warm, Velcro cuffs on jacket cumbersome and interfere with fly line casting and retrieval. Will be returning this to Bean's. This doesn't happen very often.

Despite what I've read about the negative comments on this product, I can only imagine these unfortunate few have received some "ugly ducks"
I couldn't be more happy with this product, frankly the "bunching" of material on the wrist is so minimal you can hardly notice it. And as far is the fleece being "too light" I've found it to be just right for where I fish. This past Easter I was in the middle of a stream with very windy conditions and a light drizzle.. I'm glad I had this on, with just a tee underneath it felt just right and kept me dry without making me sweat.
The ONLY complaint I have.. if you want to call it as such is the velcro, when adjusted after multiple times loses it's "stickyness".. but, when it goes through the wash it brings it back to life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LLBeanFishing Returning this Item
After reviewing several of the ratings and reviews and based on past LLBean qaulity I decided not to listen to the reviews that were posted on this products and ordered anyway.
The previous reviews regarding the velcro cuffs are spot on. Not only do the velcro cuffs stick out but the cuff is so loose that when the velcro cuff is tightened there is a significant amount of material bunched around your wrist. If your flyfising and trying to keep water from running down your wrist this is not the jacket.
Second the body of the jacket is very thin fleece Polartec 100 or less and not at all wind resistant. The sleeves and shoulders are not water or wind resistant. You could not use this for light rain or wind while fishing. Not what you could consider a "Soft Shell" jacket.
Third the jacket design omitted a chinch at the waist. The fabric is very loose and bunches when tucked into waders.
Fourth the jacket is too thin for the weather in the Pacific NW.
Unfortunately not up to the quality of other products that i have purchased from LLBean.
