Last year during our camping trip my husband complained that his back hurt. I read about the Therm-a-Rest Dreamtime Mattress and decided to surprise him this year with it. He absolutely loved it! He slept well and had no back problems whatsoever. My husband is 5" 10", 160 lbs,, so I bought the smaller size. It does take awhile to inflate the first time the mattress is used. The only disadvantage is storage as it should be totally unrolled and the valve left open.

I wanted a pad for crowding into hotel rooms for conventions, so weight and size is not a priority. I read a review that awarded it the most luxurious option among many air mattresses.
I have only slept on it for five days this weekend, but it lived up to the claims: I can't feel the floor when I sleep on this pad. I am not a light woman so I know I ask a lot of this pad and it delivers.
The price is high, but a convention where I don't sleep well is a waste of my time and money because I get cranky and don't have fun. This is insurance and I am glad I got it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RutiJoy A good night's sleep
I recently used this to camp for a week and slept quite well! It was very comfortable. I liked how thin it was yet cozy and felt like it was substantial even without the air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MJay I've already bought four!
As a 50-yr old female, I've already experienced back problems, hip problems, and a variety of mattresses. When my first Dreamtime mattress arrived, I was very skeptical and wondered if my tent-camping days were over. I first added extra air, but found that just leaving the valves open without the extra air gave me the best sleep. Slept like a log in Acadia! (I just use a sleeping bag on top of the mattress.) I was so impressed that, in time, I've managed to acquire one for every member of the family. The mattress is not only great for camping (car camping - too heavy for toting around), but it functions well as a take-along bed when visiting friends/family.
I store my mattresses in the open position, as recommended by the manufacturer. They all are neatly tucked under beds.

This mattress is almost as good as the better hotel mattresses. When I tried it out with blanket underneath on living room floor, I fell asleep for one and half hours and woke with no back/neck pains at all. I usually feel all kinds of aches from these things, but not here. Just great, perfect for car camping.

Just returned from a 7 day camping trip in Moab, Utah. Awesome, awesome sleeping pad! Highly recommend...nothing negative to say just positive.
If you want to have a wonderful night's sleep this pad is sure to give you just that...

Rated 5 out of 5 by TrakerGirl Incredibly comfortable
I am 59, have a bad back, sleep on a Temperpedic, and the air mattress just wasn't cutting it. I slept extremely well on this mattress, in a very cold Maine forest, very comfortable and wide. Required a bit of trial and error to get the inflation just right. Too heavy for hiking, great for car camping. Great product, worth every penny.

Worth the price tag. I have used this camping, and it feels like a real bed. I have also used this on the floor of a house when there were no more beds available, and it was fantastic. I am 6'6 250 lbs and it held up great. Even when sleeping on your side, there are no pressure points. I think of this now as a portable bed. Quality goods like this deserve premium prices.

This pad is amazing in many ways. A little heavy for any thing except car camping. Unfortunately, even when fully inflated with many breaths, it is just the same as sleeping on an air bed. I woke up throughout the night with pain and could barely move in the morning. If you have a bad back, this may not be the pad for you.
Additionally, the pad picks up all the leaf debris and hair on it's brushed fleece cover. Not easy to remove either.
