Rated 5 out of 5 by KYHUNTER4Life Outstanding Product
I received this item on 3/3/16. My 7 year old and 5 year old were anxiously awaiting its arrival as was I. Upon opening it was folded neatly in the box. I was amazed at how easy the setup was. Literally took less than 2 minutes. The two bars that go at the foot and head took me a minute to figure out. I was looking for instructions in the box, but found they were located on a tag at the foot region of the cot. I am 6'3 260 pounds, and was amazingly surprised to find that the cot was very sturdy, did not sway, and neither my head nor my feet were even close to hanging off either end. I am so pleased to find that there is still a company out there that knows how to make a very fine quality product at a reasonable price. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cabinshopper4 comfortable cots
Purchased 4 cots for our cabin in the UP of Michigan. They are awesome to sleep on and easy to store away!
The LLBean staff was a tremendous help with placing this order, giving me an extra 20% off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Turtleox The cot is great for someone with a stroke
I had a stroke several years ago. I had trouble getting off the floor of the tent while sleeping on the ground. When I used this cot camping, I was able to easily stand up. It was very sturdy and easy to set up once you realize the Velcro can be adjusted on one end. The only thing I don't like is not being able to sleep right next to my husband.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boxcar6 Plenty long for tall sleepers
I'm 6'3'' and there is plenty of room on this for me. Very comfortable and plenty sturdy. Makes for a great seat during the day too. I'd recommend watching the videos online for instructions on assembly. It's not difficult but the tolerances are (necessarily) very tight so you need to have some good technique to put it together easily. The fabric wraps the frame and is secured by a more than sufficient amount of velcro, so it can be adjusted to fit on the frame a bit looser to aid in the assembly process. Thick material with a ripstop stitching throughout is very much appreciated!

I ordered this to have extra sleeping space when I have visitors at my house. This cot is long enough for my 6 foot four inch boyfriend which is hard to find in a cot. I am going to order another one! Makes some noise when you first get situated but after that it is not noisy.

If your brood tends to be on the tall side, regular cots tend to be too short. This cot is sturdy, comfortable, and spacious. My teens fought over who got to sleep on the cots instead of the beds at their grandparents' cabin! Wonderful sleeping alternative for large crowds. Beware, they are heavy to carry and relatively large even when bundled but well worth it for a good night's sleep. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.

My new cot arrived this morning and I instantly opened it up and put it together. It is a dream to set up, gone are the day of fighting to get the end bars in place! I had it together within 3 to 4 mins. The storage bag is a good size so you dont have to fight to put in back in. Fit and finish is perfect! I am 300lbs and 6'3" and it is very comfy and strong. I sat above all three legs tosee how stable they are with my weiight and there was no issue at all. In my mind there is no better cot!

Rated 2 out of 5 by MtnCamperNC Changes to Maine Cot?
I purchased this same cot a couple of years ago and it was a bit of a challenge to put together (very taut). It was firm and has remained so - has not sagged over time. This encouraged me to purchase a second one. This second cot that arrived in last week's post is much looser and the fabric touches the support legs when I lay down (I'm 5'5" and under 140 pounds). I'll be getting in touch with LL Bean to see if this is a one-off or if they've changed the formula for constructing this cot. I would prefer the cot to be a bit of a bear to stretch into place, rather than the sagging that I'm now experiencing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RJTaylor Great Cot
Now that I've gotten older I needed a good cot for the fishing and hunting camps. I researched all the cots and decided to go with the Maine Military Cot. I was not disappointed in the least and am very happy with my purchase. I'm a big man at 6' 1'' weighing 280lbs with very broad shoulders and powerfully built. I give this information only to help you in your research as this info from others helped me in my decision making. I will itemize my findings for you:
Cot Length - Perfect. Plenty of room to raise my arms under pillow and feet do not hang off.
Cot Width - Perfect. Did want it to wide incase I needed to push up on each of the side rails and lift myself off the cot when my lower back is acting up.
Strength of cot - Does not shake of move excessively when getting on or off or tuning over. Feels very secure. Can set on the side rails with no problems.
Quality of cot - Very pleased. Frame and legs are incredibly sturdy. Fabric stretches tight as a drum head and does not sag but just a little. The complaints I've read about in reviews about the fabric making unbearable noise must be written by people who are extremely light sleepers and must find something to complain about. I personally don't find the noise an issue at all and I consider myself easily annoyed by unwanted noise at night.
Set up and take down - Quick and easy and had no problems at all with the end rails. However I do have very strong hands and arms. But even folks with less strength I believe would not have to much of a problem. Its mind over matter once you see how it goes together. Goes back in the carry bag very easy.
Great cot and I look forward to using it for years to come. Thanks Byer of Maine!
