I needed a sport shoe to go on cruise vacation and when I saw that these could get wet even better. However when they arrived I was disappointed in the look of them. The black plastic tabs on the bungy cord lace do not match the beige shoe and for some reason the look kind of long. Also the quality just doesn't seem to be there for the usually high L.L.Bean standards.

These sneakers are a little hard to get on, with the sewn in tongue, but feel great once they are on. I liked them so much I ordered them in blue a few months later. They are a great sneaker year round for warm weather climates like Tucson, AZ.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KiminAnnapolis Fabulous pool shoes
I am wearing these shoes for water aerobics and they are fabulous. I ordered the wrong size at first and LL BEAN was kind enough to exchange them promptly and not only was there free shipping, but no charge for the return shipping. I will buy another pair soon!

This is a wonderful shoe for the gym. I wear them to cycle, TRX, lift and even zumba. The best part is they don't collect odor or moisture the way my other vented shoes would during a workout. The only negative is a smidge more ankle support would be nice.

These shoes feel good on your feet. The zip ties are easy to operate. I have toe problems and ordered a half size larger and that seems to take care of the problem but I need more cushion on the bottom the end of the day my feet hurt. maybe my feet would hurt anyway. Still I like them.

I was very happy to see that these were available in wide sizes, but when I received them found out not true at all. The wide size is a joke. I would hate to see what the normal size looks like. I cannot even wear them. I have purchased many products from L.L. Bean before and have always been very happy. This time is a fail. :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by terezz They stink! Literally!
I loved the earlier mesh shoes so much that I ordered another pair. I can see how Bean might switch suppliers since the glue didn't hold on the bottom of the shoes. However, I loved everything else about them.
Now, for me, I remove the orthotic insert because I have problems with my feet swelling. I understand it's antimicrobial and all, but I don't wear it. Plus, I don't want the arch in the shoe.
The shoes I'm referring to have the tie laces, not the bungee type seen on this model. And I got the shoes this past summer.
The shoes felt great, just like earlier. However, I noticed a nasty smell coming from them after wearing them a few times. I have a lot of allergies, so I'm likely to be more sensitive. The smell gave me headaches and nausea.
I figured, okay, I'll just put something in them to take away the smell. Well, I tried baking soda, vinegar, alcohol, and bleach. I also threw them in the washing machine twice and, no dice. I still got headaches. Oh, and I used an ultraviolet C light to "degerm" them. Well, it's not the bacteria, it's the material.
The shoes are in the garage because having them in the house gives me headaches.
I'm going back to a manufacturer who makes tennis shoes and has for about a hundred years so as not to get any more of these "improvements".
