Based on other reviews I ordered a size 13 instead of the size 1 that my daughter wears now. They fit perfectly. The velcro adjustable straps help to make these fit just right. Will probably get another pair next year.

These run slightly big, as I typically buy a size 1 for my daughter now instead of a 13. I purchased them in a size 13, and there is still plenty of room! These are very comfortable for her, a cute color (pink), and a nice sandal that I can feel good about her wearing when we have to walk a lot. I love that I can wash with soap and cool water, because my daughter plays a lot outside and they get dirty!

My daughter wears size 3 sneakers, but I ordered size 2 sandals based on the reports that these sandals run large. The sandals arrived yesterday, and my daughter's feet just swim in them. So we're sending them back; I just ordered a size 1. My daughter really likes how they look.

These are great sandals - good quality and very comfortable. I ordered 2 pair, one for my 7 year-old daughter and one for my 5 year-old son. I used the sizing chart that is provided on the link & measured both my kids' feet & ordered accordingly. The sandals were immediately returned for 1 size smaller for my daughter & 2 sizes smaller for my son. I would say that if you want "growing room", a size smaller than the sizing chart is probably perfect.

This is the second time I have purchased these for my daughter. The first pair lasted 2 years before she grew out of them. They do run a little big. My daughter loves them and says they are very comfortable. She has worn them walking around amusement parks all day and has never complained about her feet hurting.

These sandals are great for my active 8 year old! She loves them -- they are sufficiently airy for her, and have the support I was looking for. But when I took her to swim lessons I was holding her stuff and began thinking, "it smells like feet in here." It took me a second but I realized it was her Cool Wave sandals next to me. Yuck. I think if these sandals had a anti-microbial feature, it would prevent a bit of "stinky-sandal syndrome." I still expect to have to wash them now and then, but would prefer it be more "then" than "now."

Ordered normal shoe size for both my daughters, but sandals run about 2 sizes longer than marked. However, the sandals are well made and the girls love the colors, so will simply set them aside for next summer.

I really appreciated these sandals last year, they fit well and wore well until the velcro started to give. I had hoped to get two years out of one pair, and that will not be the case. The velcro has not lasted and now will not stay closed on the hand-me-down pair. Generally LLbean kids items will be used by more than one child. That will not be the case with these sandals.

I have been buying these sandals every year for over 6 years. I have twins and this year, the boy sandal was a reasonable fit for him, but even for a boy, I had to pull as tightly as possible to get it to fit to his regular width foot. The girl's sandal is much too wide. I have the size 13 from last year and that sandal can at least be cinched more tightly that this year's model. This sandal is much too wide for my daughter and I would suspect for most girls, even when you tighten the straps. We are returning the girl's sandals and will no longer be bying this sandal for any of our three children.

We just got a pair of these today for our 7 year old daughter. I measured carefully and her foot is just shy of 7", so I ordered a size 12, figuring an 11 wouldn't fit for very long. The footbed of the sandals we received measures a full 7.75", so they are much too long. I like the width, the sandals seem to be of good quality, and they look very cute, but the sizing is way off as others have stated. So I would recommend them, and will probably replace them with the smaller size, but beware when ordering as they do run very large.
