Rated 4 out of 5 by User1 Spacious and easy to use.
This bag is designed to use. Lots of capacity inside with nice slots and pockets and a large, open stuffing area next to the body for a coat, shoes, lunch, or purse. Easy to get things in and out with a fold-over flap. Comfortable wide strap with good hardware and material, worth the price, I'm pleased.

Overall it seems well-made but is too large and bulky to be characterized as a "messenger" bag.
This would serve as an overnight bag or perhaps something, for those so inclined, to lug their laptops around in.
I didn't return it because aside from the size I didn't find anything wrong with the bag itself. I'm sure I'll find a use for it, but I will continue to shop for a messenger bag that will simply accommodate a paperback to read on the subway, perhaps a bagged lunch, and a few odds and ends.

This bag is roomy, well organized, and stylish. I love it for traveling! The padded shoulder strap gives extra comfort, and can be worn across the chest for less strain on the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hcabats GREAT size for middle school!
My son has now officially outgrown his Critter (now Explorer) Backpack...that he has had for 8 or so years since preschool for his winter gear...wasn't sure that this would hold as much as that one, but it is surprisingly large, but not too big for a smaller 7th grader! I liked the style a bit better than the larger Bean's Messenger Bag a little more sporty, so gave it a try (plus the black was out of stock until february)...SO glad I did...fit him and his stuff perfectly and he looked great with it on AND it will last him for years. His brother and I think dad now want one too! This bag is as great as it looks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by PEPJR Well made bag
Very well constructed bag with three simple areas for your office gear. A large padded section for your computer, a large open area for files, books, and other devices, and a small zippered organizer under the flap on the front of the bag.
There is one minor design flaw. The two pen holders are designed for pencils or narrow pens. Any pen with a rubber grip will either not fit or get caught on the very tight, non-elastic, bands at the top of each holder.
Other than that, a very nice and very protective bag.

I would be lost now with out this bag! I've had it almost a year in Dusty Olive. I use it everyday on my commute to work. Easy to throw over my head & shoulder and take the train into the city. I pack in this bag my lunch, meds, ball hat, umbrella, phone, ear buds, sunglasses, any important papers or anything else I need to get through a busy work day. Great bag, can't say enough good things about it. I have recommended it to many friends. Looks great too! Don't hesitate if you want a great bag that looks good, is functional and will last, this is the one to buy!

I bought this bag after buying a travel back pack. All the reviews were from men. I happen to be 5'8. This bag is incredible. I found the back mesh pocket great for a water bottle, book and a light sweat shirt ,all at one time. Holds all the extras with my 13 " laptop .
I would highly recommend this bag.

I purchased the bag for my large HP laptop which fits like a glove.
The carry strap across my body protects my lower back from further unjury far better than a backpack - plus I can reach into it while walking.
Still enjoying figuring out all of its pockets for best arrangement of my gear.
