I ordered the black belt. It did not have an ornament. I love this belt. The leather is top notch. Its the kind of leather that even has a little strecth to it. Looks very good with jeans. The belt is like my pearl handled pocket knife. Very nice, but it's not meant for farm work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by yama Allagash bison belt w/out ornament
Leather is just fine but the brass finish has started to wear off with only occasional wear for dress. Ruined belt. A solid brass buckle wouldn't have cost that much more. Returning belt.

Great belt but I wish I had listened to the other reviews. My husband takes a 36 pant; however, the 36 belt was way too small. I had to order a 40 inch.

Unlike the Dress Chino Belt that I also reviewed, this belt is nice looking and seems to be of good quality. This one I'm keeping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ShutUpAndFish Great Belt, but don't like the ornament
This belt was very supple. I wish they had a belt like this with the silver buckle and no ornaments however...

Rated 5 out of 5 by iame2 should last years
I've worn this belt for a few months and it is still in good shape. It is full grain, not bonded or "genuine" and I expect it will last many years.

I purchased this belt (plain) to go with the bison leather mocs. It was a perfect match.

Things I like:
Great quality brass buckle without sharp edges!
Has a smooth leather lining.
Smooth edges.
Nice looking!
Things I don't like:
The belt stretches. A lot. The first one I got when I was a 36 pant size. I got a 34 belt, and within a year was punching new holes because it had stretched so much. (I hadn't shrunk). It did become so bad that I exchanged it (Thanks LL Bean) for a 32. This has also stretched quite a bit, but it's still usable.
Finally, the belt is absorbent.. for example, if you have any skin that could touch the belt, the belt will absorb your oils and any sweat, and turn black. Because it's a double-layered belt, there's stitching, and it may fall apart. Not a negative, per se, but something to be aware of.
I'd recommend it to people that are in shape (to avoid that second problem) but be careful of sizing! Bottom line? unless I find another rounded-brass-buckled, non-smooth leather belt? I'll be buying another one to replace this one.
