Rated 5 out of 5 by Normajune Pleasantly Surprised
I really like my Bean Adirondack chair. I was looking for a recycled chair, but didn't want it to look cheap or "plasticky." The chair is very substantial, comfortable, looks nice, and fills the bill!

Have bought these in past & ordered another pair to match. What arrived were 2" shorter in the seat, did not recline, were uncomfortably upright & the edges were unfinished ( splinters even though they were not wood). Not worth the price- will be returning them.

I guess since there are so few parts to install, I was really surprised that this was shipped missing one of the two bolts.
I'd also have to agree that the feel of the chair is lighter than I expected, but that has been indicated in previous reviews.

Based on my good experience with the All Weather Folding Chair, I went ahead and added the All Weather Adirondack Chair to my deck - a disapointment. First was the missing screws for the cross bar supporting the legs. I had to search my work bench to find substitutes. A minor inconvenience.
The chair is uncomfortable with the poorly designed flat back. My spine bumps right against it so that I have to turn my body to the right or left to relieve the discomfort. Better to have some curvature in the back as I have had in my older wooden adirondack.
The arms are very slippery so that if you put a beer or soft drink can on one - it will slide to the floor. The bottoms of the legs slide on my redwood deck surface. It's a cool, greenie idea, but a poor substitute for the real thing. As for returning it, that would be a major difficulty repackaging and shipping back as large and bulky as it is. Better I should have gone to a furniture storee and sat in in it before I bought it. Sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JUDE11 Excellent chair and the best quality
I received these chairs very quickly after ordering and they sat in the box for 5 days before I had time to put together.
I struggled with the first one trying to line up the holes for the peg and screw to fit in doing so I learned that if you loosen the screws to the back it goes together much easier, wish I knew that on the first one it would have saved me a lot of time.
I look forward to many nights sitting around the fire in our new adirondack chairs!

Rated 4 out of 5 by InsertCatchyNameHere Terrific chairs - but where'd the great colors go?
I purchased four of these chairs last spring/summer (2012) with some trepidation; at around $300 per chair, this is a pretty significant investment for the patio, especially since we purchased more furniture than just the four chairs.
However, I can say that I'm very happy that we made the "leap". The chairs were great last year for kicking back with my Kindle or a laptop to do some work or 'net surfing. Just add a cup of coffee or an iced beverage - the wide, flat armrests are perfect for holding your mug or cup - and some good music to fit your taste and mood, and you have yourself an instant "happy place"! The "upcycled" aspect - these chairs are manufactured from recycled materials - is a definite plus.
If you or your guests are older, or less agile, these chairs might be pose a little difficulty when it's time to stand up, since they are lower to the ground and angled like traditional Adirondack chairs; for everyone else, though, they are fairly roomy and definitely deep enough for me - I'm 5'7" with pretty long legs, and definitely not petite. The top edge of the back of the chair hits me mid-noggin; I usually place an outdoor pillow in back of my head to solve that issue, but a slightly higher chair back would be a great modification.
The older design that some reviewers have mentioned - that incorporates rounded edges, an extended seat deck, and slightly higher back - or maybe even an adjustable, multi-position back, would probably make what is now a terrific chair as close to perfect as it gets, and would have bumped these to a five-star rating.
My husband and our 16 year-old son had absolutely no problems putting our chairs together - assembly was fairly quick and involved no father-son conflicts ;-). The instructions were clear, and all necessary hardware and parts were included.
I also want to mention that these chairs have absolutely lived up to their "All-Weather" moniker so far. We live in the very Northern 'burbs of Philly, and we've definitely had some challenging weather here since our purchase ... including Hurricane Sandy gale force rains and winds that knocked out our power for several days, downed trees, and blew a lot of our shingles away. We've also had several heavy snows.
Through it all, our All-Weather chairs have come through with flying colors, even though they were left uncovered all winter. No chips, shreds, or hardware rust, and the colors are still out-of-the-shipping-box vibrant. That's pretty impressive! And none of the All-Weather furniture we purchased - the chairs, the round side tables, and the coffee table - even budged when the hurricane-force winds hit. We had placed the side tables against a fence that helped to partially block the wind, but they were still out in the open. This is solid, quality stuff.
I was disappointed to see that the fabulous color selection offered last year seems to have been discontinued for this season. We purchased our chairs in a brilliant royal blue, and the round side tables in lime green - our cushions and flower planters coordinate with the pieces and visually pull them together. The effect is bright and fun, and we've received many compliments from our neighbors and friends. This year's color selections seem extremely drab by comparison, kiboshing any temptation to add to our collection.
I can't wait for the return of warm, sunny days and balmier evenings so I can get back outside to enjoy this furniture!

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2icedlatte Nice chair but....
My chairs in a very nice evergreen color were shipped in perfect condition. The arrived about four days after I ordered them, which is great. Took about 10 minutes for me -- by myself -- to put them together, which is also great. They look very nice. I grabbed my iPad and plopped my 5'8" average frame down in my newly assembled chair, ready to order two more. But no! They aren't big enough! I must second the reviewers below who noted that the chair isn't quite deep enough to get a cozy, sit here for hours feel, nor is it quite tall enough to lean your head back and gaze at the sky. They frankly aren't as comfortable as my $20 hardware store chairs. I'm going to keep them--they're not awful--but I'm not ordering more, at least not until their size changes. LLBean lost $600 for the sake of a couple inches of material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yeti13 Adirondack chair made of recycled materials
We just purchased 2 of these chairs and are extremely pleased. We ordered the dark green with striped cushions to match and love the color. They are very comfortable and very easy to put together. I would recommend the cushions for the comfort. I was hesitant about the material not looking good since it wasn't wood, but they look great - not tacky at all. Thanks L.L. Bean for another awesome product.

Delivery came much sooner than expected.
Though one box was damaged, the product was fine. Didn't worry because of LLBean's return policy. Assembly was very easy and quick. These chairs are great and very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanBuyer1234 Sunset Red
This "sunset red" is more like a fire engine red. It was not the color that I expected it to be. I thought it was more of a deeper red based on the picture above. If you want a fire engine red, then buy it. If not, don't waste your money. It is a very durable chair, just wasn't the color I saw online. Also, had to use ducktape to patch it back up because the cardboard fell apart.
