Bean's pima cotton polo has been my "go-to" summer shirt for years. I have just about every color. They look great, feel great, don't shrink, and wear like iron. I especially like the super-soft inside neck seam and the color-matched buttons. The fit is absolutely true to size. So, don't think you have to buy a size larger to allow for poor construction or shrinkage, as you would with ordinary polos (including pricey ones with little animals sewn on.)

Great feel, great fit, and great quality! As a Baptist Pastor I wear these shirts daily. It is hot in Fl. and these shirts keep me cool. I would suggest looking at the sizing chart and going by the chest size, because this is what I have done and I have no problem with the fit.

I recently submitted a review of this item, and would like to clarify one point. Regarding size, I stated that these shirts seem to be sized generously, so if you are in between sizes, as I am, I would recommend down-sizing. In many shirts, I wear an X-large, but this one in a large fits perfectly.
Get this polo - you won't be disappointed!

The fabric, color is very nice, but the design of this polo is right out of the '60s. Big blousey sleeves that stick out, not cut on a bias, they make your arms look like twigs. Loose collar and blousey torso cut make it look like you are wearing your grandfather's shirt. I guess this is the L.L. Bean style, but to me it looks like you picked this up at the thrift store. Unwearable.

Price is very fair compared to other pima polos at upscale shopping centers. This polo would easily be $50+ elsewhere. Alpine Green looks very close to pic. I'm 175 lbs, 6 ft., semi-broad shoulders and the medium fits very well with room to spare in the mid-section (33 in waist). I live south with 100 degree summers, this high quality lightweight polo will keep me cool.

I bought this pima cotton polo, plus a Double L polo for my husband for Christmas. He actually liked the pima cotton with banded sleeve a little better because of the fit. It was the right length and the right width (he is 5',11" at about 190 and I ordered him a Large). He probably just needs a Medium in the Double L polo for it to feel right.
His complaint on other brands of polo shirts is that they are too wide and short, so they are not flattering at all. This polo has a nice texture and fit. It's great finally finding a high quality polo that fits the way it should.

I ordered this shirt a couple weeks ago for my fiance in Raven Blue and can't say enough good things about this shirt. My fiance usually wears button-down dress shirts, so I wanted to buy him something a little less dressy, but still nice-looking that he could wear in the hot, dry heat in our Northern California summers, and this shirt is amazing! We washed it as soon as we received it, and hung it up to dry - it did not wrinkle at all like I thought it would, nor did the collar curl up like I anticipated! I am very pleased with this product. The pima cotton is so soft and lightweight and almost silky-feeling. The Raven Blue is such a beautiful deep blue and I can tell this product is very well made. We ordered the M and it ran pretty big - I was surprised, it ran like how we thought a L would. Overall, he is very pleased with it, however. It only runs noticeably big in the shoulder seam area. He would rather have it a little big than too small, so he will stick with it, and we'll just dry it a couple times in the dryer to shrink it down if it will. Excellent product, he would highly recommend it - says it is very comfy for work.

Very disappointed in the quality of the shirt, it was missing a button when delivered. Sent back for a refund, caveat emptor.

I purchased 2 Pima short sleeve polo shirts in 11/2010 and after only 2 washings the 2 buttons on each of the shirts came off, making the shirts useless for this 78-year old widower who cannot sew.
