We purchased a rocker and stationary chair. Happy with oak construction and able to follow written instructions to assemble. Great chairs for myself and wife loves the rocker. Being seniors we hope to spend many days enjoying them and easy to get in and out of. We did order chair pads to enhance our "butt" comfort. Plan to use them on our screened in porch.

I opted for the natural Oak Rocker and believe I've made an excellent choice. The Rocker arrived sooner than expected, and in good condition. The assembly instructions seemed easy but could have been clearer about attaching the rocker parts but errors are easily seen and corrected. Upon completion of assembly the chair turns out to be quite comfortable even without cushions and is quite heavy. I am very pleased with this purchase and expect to order another one of these soon.

We have come to expect very good quality from LL Bean. The 4 chairs we bought said they were "finished" with something but you can't tell, it must be a light poly spray or something. They need to be sanded, stained, and poly'd. You could get a splinter from them the way they came. I would think for the same price as the painted ones, they could put a little more work into these. I am disappointed it will take a few weekends of work before we can use them. I'd send them back but we paid extra shipping already - extra shipping again to return them is not worth the trouble. They do feel heavy/sturdy but assembly is required...

I was thrilled to buy 3 chairs for my husband as a Christmas present. We live in the mild climate of San Francisco and put them outdoors at the end of January. We have had maybe 2 rain storms and we do not get snow. Within weeks one of the chairs peeled back the paint in many different places. It was truly defective. The other 2 chairs are also going back as they are beginning to peel back paint. These are not meant for outdoors, at all. Customer Service has been wonderful to work with. On order now are the all weather Adirondack chair. Unfortunately for my husband they do not make a rocker.
Kudos to LL Bean for keeping this customer satisfied but why don't they make an all weather rocker?

Rated 5 out of 5 by A1quiltingdiva A wonderful rocker
Would highly recommend these rockers! They are beautifully crafted and constructed with great quality. They are weathering well on our uncovered front porch and are the most comfortable rockers to relax in. They fold up for garage storage during the winter. I plan to purchase two more next summer!

easy to assemble - comfortable - look great - too early to tell how they will hold up over time but seem very solid and well constructed - put together myself

Rated 1 out of 5 by actonmama rotted in a few years years! have to repaint often
I loved these chairs and the end tables when I bought them a few years ago. We store them inside during the fall and winter but they continue ot peel and rot and we have had to repaint them and replace some of the wood. We have had the same problem with the tables and footstools as well. Do not buy unless you can bring them in from the rain and plan to sand and repaint in later years. Ver diappointed!

added the cushion and this chair is extremely comfortable. I didn't have any issues with putting it together. It took about 30-40 minutes. The directions were easy to understand. thanks LL Bean for another terrific item.

Ihavekids Love my new chairs!
I fell in love with this rocker a year ago when I sat in one at the L.L. Bean store. Finally, we decided to take he plunge and purchase two for our deck. I love the red one in the store, but went with the less bold (but very nice shade of) yellow.
Originally, we waited to buy these because I thought they were kind of expensive. Recently, I saw adirondack rocker chairs in a catalog for almost twice the price of the ones I got from L.L. Bean. That makes me feel a lot better about the price I paid for these!
Assembly wasn't that bad for us. My husband had both chairs put together within an hour. The only thing I think might be a problem is the front pegs loosley insert with no real way of fixing them permanantly (or at least semi-permanantly) other than maybe some wood glue. We have small kids and they've already yanked them out a couple times. You're not suppose to sit in the chairs without these pegs...so I'm going to have to glue them in to keep them from being lost.
