Rated 3 out of 5 by JC001 They just don't last very long
I really like these Chinos. I get them with the pleated waist and the hidden comfort waist band. The down side is that they don't last very long. The belt loops get all worn out and they begin to look terrible. They also wear out and fray at my pant leg bottoms and they are not too long. My last 2 pairs only lasted 3 months, and I only wear each of them twice a week. So basically I have worn each pair only 24 times and both pairs look worn out already. I only work in an office environment and sit at a computer all day. It's not like I am digging trenches in them. All of these chinos that I have ordered in the past wear out at this same rate. So just beware.
I did try the less expensive chinos a couple years ago, but 2 pairs of them only lasted a month.

Color fades quickly. White line appears along crease in pants after just a few washings. Can't wear them to the office in just a couple of months after purchase.

I began buying these pants from L.L. Bean years ago because they were the only company that would tailor my pants to match my waist and inseam. The weave of the pants has always been coarse and rough on the skin. The finish never looks ironed even when I take them out of the dryer the moment it stops tumbling. I guess that why they only claim to be ?Wrinkle Resistant.? The pants soften up and become reasonably comfortable after I launder them half a dozen times. The fabric lasts, but everything else fails. I stopped ordering my pants with cuffs because the hem on one or both legs would come loose after just a few uses. The button on the waste has come loose and I had to sew it back into place. The clasp that holds the flap down has failed in two of four pairs of pants I?ve order in the last two years. In one the loop that holds the spade ripped loose. In the other the portion of the spade sewn into the pants cut through the fabric at the end of the flap. Both pair went into the trash as un wearable. Honestly, their $74 a pair for pants don?t last a year in regular use. I find this unsatisfactory. Perhaps I?m being too hard on L.L. Bean. Perhaps I should expect less of them even though they keep expecting more out of my wallet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dean17 Great when new but wear quickly
Purchased a khaki pair after after 2 years the belt loops are worn through. Unfortunately this is on the outside where its un-slightly. Its strange because even with regular wear the rest of the pants have work well - except around the cuff. They still look good after washing but I'm going to see how my black pair wears before I buy again. They just don't get worn enough for the belt loops to fail so miserably on pants that are a perfect fit and feel. Shame because the cost of postage from Australia doesn't make it realistic to return.

Rated 3 out of 5 by WJRinDallas Good Product, Great Service, Beware the Leg Size
I selected this product with great assistance from an LLBean product specialist to replace another pant product that I returned hassle-free due to an issue with the color. These pants are well made. Color is true khaki as desired. The comfort-waist construction is just right.
But I found the legs to be way too loose. My wife mentioned this the first time I tried on the pants. I specified my normal uncuffed inseam length but the pants were about an inch too long. Consequently, I took the pants to a local tailor to have the legs reduced approximately 2 inches in diameter at the base and the length reduced by an inch. I wanted pants like this and also did not feel right about making a second return. Another reviewer mentioned the loose legs, too. I would recommend that LLBean take a look at their pant patterns.

We've been getting comfort waist chinos for years, but this is the first year that the waist band tore at the elastic on both pairs we ordered.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Vallgrl I really wanted to like these, however
The fabric is very thick, and the weave is tight, however the fit was all boxy and baggy looking on my husband. His previous pants from LLBean looked good, not these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mouse1999 Heather Gray Various Shading Hides Wear and Lint!
This heather gray is shaded such it will hide wear and lint. When you need a dark pair of pants in cotton these are the ones to get. Dark colors in cotton pants like navy and black tend to show wear and lint more than khaki pants, but the shading in the heather gray should hide the wear and lint.
This style of LL Bean pant, Dress Hidden Comfort Waist is my husband's and my favorite. He is comfortable and looks great in them. These dress chinos have a button and clip at the top of the fly so no buttons ever falling off from our experience. Also flap covered button pockets in the back and deep pockets in the front. Pleated in the front and comfort waist for that fluctuating waistline.
They hem with or without a cuff to your specifications. Wash and wear! What is there not to like?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bucki72 Good quality but...
The pants are very nice with the usual LL Bean quality. The problem I have is the length. I ordered the same length as other chino pants from LL Bean and they were too long. The inseam measured exactly what I ordered but when I compared them to my other pants I found the pants to be about two inches longer. The difference is in the length from the top of the pants to the top of the inseam.

The in-seam pocket is not only great for coins, but even better, I now use it to hold a couple of credit cards, driver lic., ID card, and a couple of bills. everything I need, especially since I rarely use paper/coin money these days. No more wallet!!!
