Rated 5 out of 5 by FreelanceWriter Simply Excellent Cargo Pants
I have 3 pair Allagash Cargo Shorts and 2 pair of Allagash Cargo Pants, if that tells you anything. They're as described, fine quality and wear well. If there is one drawback, it's the double hidden buttons (2) on the rear pockets that are sometimes hard to unbutton to get to your wallet. It can be awkward trying to unbutton the pocket while standing in the grocery line and holding up traffic. The same double and hidden buttons are on the cargo pockets but less of a bother. But I knew that when I ordered and it's not enough of a negative to detract from the quality of the product.

A girlfriend bought me a pair of these years ago. I forgot how wonderful they were until I purchased another pair a few weeks ago. Light fabric, great stitching and cut. I'm disappointed with the cut of other cargo pants I found out there. Not so with these. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for another sale (hint, hint) so I can buy another pair.

The only problem I have had with the Allagash Cargo Pants is that the button holes on the pockets were made too small for the buttons. It took all my strength pushing with both thumbs to get the buttons through the very tight button holes. After I managed to button and unbutton pants pockets twice, the holes loosened somewhat.
Other than the button hole problem, the fit and comfort was acceptable.

I have had multiple pairs of these cargo pants and they all fail in the same way: the lower outside edge of the right back pocket where I carry my wallet tears the fabric of the pants, leaving a hole at the attachment point. I believe this is because the back pockets are outside the pants and just stitched on.

This pants are real hit at work. Most of us travel internationally and we need pockets, safe pockets and hands-free to deal with other matters. They rock. More people are wearing these to a casual workplace. For those of us fortunate to have those jobs. I like the tropical shirts as well...pockets.

I like these pants very much. The only issue, which I know from earlier purchases, is that they are not very colorfast and they will fade very quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanHiker Very comfortable, good fit, great utility
Although 81 yrs old I usually hike once each week in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (today's hike >10 mi.). I also use "dressier" hiking trousers on cruises because of their pocket security. However, to date their only use was attending an opera that had a different venue for each act; these trousers were excellent for walking between venues in the rain (from cathedral to auditorium to outdoor ampitheater), and with a semi-dress sport coat and tie did not look totally out of place. Most comfortable and handled rain well; however, they were bought primarily for a trip to Italy but eventually will hit trail too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RobertG Pretty good pants, could use a few improvements
I have four pair of these pants. I like cargo pants and I like the fit. Traveling a lot by air I find the zipper front pockets great for keeping my phone and cash secure while still having the other front pockets for my hands.
The buttons on the cargo and back pockets seem to be a point of contention. I keep the "inboard" button on the back pocket closed leaving one open and then fish my wallet out when I need it - never been a problem. I use a similar technique for the cargo pockets.
The cargo pockets are big, they can hold probably more stuff than you want banging around on your leg.
Size is good on the waist, but they're about 1/2" to 1" shorter than stated. I wear a 30" inseam and these fit like a 29".
The LL Bean Natural fit is really comfortable for me, and these pants work with you.
They hold up well, I wash my every time I wear them. The material where the corners of the back and cargo pockets are attached is where they fail first, but after probably 25 - 30 washing with lots of heavy use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OldKel Nice pants!
I've been buying these pants from L.L.Bean for years now and I have to say that they are my favorites...except in the Summer...then I get the same ones only shorter.
I figure I get over two good years wear per pair, and that's with two pair and alternating them every few days. They have nice pockets and I need pockets. They look great, which always helps, and they're very comfortable. I have found that they measure large in the waist so I just order two inches smaller, i.e. I have a 35" waist and the 33's fit perfectly.
So there you have it.
