I was hesitant to order these as there seemed to be very little protection for the toes. However, thought I would give it a try. They came out of the box and I put them on. After adjusting the tension on the three Velcro straps. these sandals fit great and are quite comfortable. Nice cushion for comfortable walking all morning long. Long enough to protect the toes from a head-on encounter.

Purchased item for wear at beach in water with less than perfect bottom (rocks). Was a replacement for previous shoes over 10 years old. Have diabetes. Have only worn around house so far, inside and out. Fit seems fine and the adjustable nature is very important and seems good.
Selection of this type shoe at LLBean (Freeport store) was extremely limited. Like the only one on hand.

These are the classic, basic Teva sandal. They support the foot as well as any athletic shoe, and can be worn with wool socks in the nippier weather. Great for average to wide feet. If I'm not going to be doing any serious swimming, I'll wear them into the water, and not have to worry about what's underfoot. That is what they are made for, after all. They were designed for guides on kayak and canoe trips who needed a water shoe that would dry quickly, provide support and take being wet in stride. If you have never owned Tevas, what are you waiting for?

Rated 5 out of 5 by drbeth Great sandals for the price
It took a few hours for the chafing from the front straps to cease (No skin was lost), but once it did, these turned out to be great sandals, even when I walked in a rain storm. I like the foot bed, as I prefer a lot of support. The sizing was perfect, but I should add that I have learned to go by European sizing as that just seems to be more accurate when to comes to shoes made outside of this country. (My pair were made in Viet Nam.) I have walked a few miles on pavement in them and they are fine. Not necessarily as comfortable as my cork bedded Naot sandals which cost twice as much, but these hold up much better in the rain!

Great sandals. True to size (11D), and well-made. This is my third pair, and I'll buy another when these wear out.

Despite a pricy $80 tag, this was quite an uncomfortable shoe. There was no support in the toes, so when walking it was more difficult to balance. Also, the arch is very high, and pushed uncomfortably into the sole of my foot. The Teva Hurricanes XL are much more comfortable on the sidewalk as well as trail, and are only $60. I kept the Hurricanes.
