Rated 1 out of 5áby irate Idiotic back pockets
Take a look at the picture showing the shorts from the back. It is nearly impossible to button/unbutton the back pockets while wearing these shorts. Dumbest design I've ever worn!

Rated 3 out of 5áby OldButYoung The buttons have to go
Tried out these shorts to see how they differ from cargo shorts from another company. Sadly, two differences make them, to me, not as good - 1) the buttons on the pockets. Maybe it's my age (over 80) but I just don't have nimble enough fingers to handle them, 2) the material is a little hard so that too many creases that appear after sitting don't go away. The fit was fine.

Rated 2 out of 5áby Nick50 Allagash Cargo Shorts need pocket full of buttons
I bought 2 pair of these shorts and both pairs have suffered broken buttons at the zipper including each of the spare buttons provided. I love the shorts but i'm tiring of replacing buttons, they are simply too weak for the purpose. I have many years of experience in buttoning my pants that indicates this is not the normal. They eventually break at the center with the stress of unbuttoning. I replaced with another jacket button of similar size and have no further problems. How about some quality buttons, needle and thread for everyone. Demand quality from suppliers and rest assured I'll be back for more. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5áby CCPShopper Best CCP shorts and long pants you'll ever find
I'm a CCP holder and I've been looking for months to get a pair of short and pants that did the trick and these are the shorts and pants. The pockets are very deep and the zipper pocket is the perfect place to carry. No worry about it falling out but easy to get to. About anything will be hidden. It has double pockets on each side which protects items in your pockets. I live in Florida and during the summer it is hard to carry much without it showing and these shorts do it. They are also cool.
I like them so much I bought a pair for my son who is a CCP holder.

Rated 5 out of 5áby MikeandDeni Lots of pockets; order one size up
Just received the shorts; read the reviews and ordered one size up. I normally wear a 38; ordered 40 (hated to admit that but based on previous reviews had to) they fit perfectly.
They also included an extra button, which I thought was kind of funny.
One idea might be to use a rubberized button like you find on better quality rugby shirts - might resolve the breaking button issue.

Cut with plenty of room. Material and stitching look like they are made to last. The pocket buttons are annoying at first, but they wear in pretty quickly and become usable. Love the shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5áby EMTGUY Great shorts
Have been buying these since they first came out. Shorts fit perfectly. Like the buttons on the rear and cargo pockets. Like that every year the colors are just a shade different then past years. Own these in shorts and long pants. When the waist button breaks (which it is sure to do) I return them and get a new pair. If LL Bean can't fix the waist button problem, then they just have to deal with the returns. They do have the best return policy out there. Still have my first pair of Bean boots from 1969. Resoling them costs more then when I got them new.

I love the quality of these shorts, other than the button at the waist that has now broken on me 3 times (exchanged each time).

After reading the reviews on fit, I was a little worried. When I tried them on, I found that the shorts fit very well. Ordered another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5áby eappro Order larger than normal
These are really nice, and very well made. Like most LLBean products, they will probably last forever. However, these should probably be ordered a full size larger than what you normally wear. Remember if you are going by the size of the shorts you already own, those are likely to be "broken in" and stretched somewhat especially if they are cotton. If you wear a 34 you may want to order a 36, this is what I mean by a full size.
