Rated 3 out of 5 by TampaFLGirl too boxy for my frame, but a quality shirt
This shirt is of high quality. Unfortunately I found the cut too large and unflattering. I'm 5'6" and weight 130 pounds and ordered the small. I know it's supposed to be a big shirt, but the cut wasn't feminine enough for me to keep it. I recommend the product to anyone looking for a boxier cut--very nice linen and quality buttons, just what you expect from L.L. Bean.

I bought two of these. I usually am between medium and large, but I ordered both sizes and sent back the large.
It's been hot and humid and I work in a building without A/C but feel comfy wearing this shirt with a sleeveless cotton shirt underneath. At first I thought the sleeves were a little snug but after they softened up, they were fine. I could roll them up without trouble.
The Rose Pink garners me many compliments whenever I wear it.
I wore the mauve one to a meeting and then went out into the heat to watch birds and was comfy in both settings.
Classy, comfortable and pretty.

Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent linen shirt
I like this shirt as well as the Premium Linen shirt on this site. It seems to wrinkle less than my Premium Linen shirts bought at LLBean. You cannot beat the price either. Everyone needs to know this is the perfect over-shirt (worn as a light weight jacket over a tank) for the sultry weather in the Southeast. Linen wrinkles but it is comfortable and a necessary fabric here. You won't go wrong with this shirt. I bought the linen color and wear it with many outfits. The perfect Big Shirt!

Rated 5 out of 5 by maplescones Beautiful fabric, classic style.
This is the first time I purchased LL Bean's linen shirts (the washable linen big shirt in the solid color, not printed). I am 5'4" and 130-135 lbs. (usually a size 8/10) and wanted to be certain the shirt would have a big shirt fit/style on me when it's warm, so I bought the regular size large. I don't like wearing tight clothes when it is hot/humid. The shoulders are not too big; in fact, they are just right. The length of the body is just right too. Sleeves are a bit too long, but my arms are on the short side for my size so that is something I'm not too worried about with a big shirt. This shirt has two buttons on the cuff, so I can button them to the smaller size (or just roll them up a bit). So if you want the shirt to feel like a big shirt, I would go up a size.
Beautiful fabric--not too heavy, not too thin. It is substantial but will still breathe in hot weather. The quality and design are high-quality. The pocket in front is just right--not too big, and not too small. The cuffs, collar, and back inverted pleat give the shirt a classic style. Mauve berry is much prettier and more natural-colored in person than it looked on my computer screen (more like a clover blossom). Very happy I took a chance and purchased the linen shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveTheClassicsLady I own THREE, and absolutely LOVE them ALL!
I swear by these "go to" linen big shirts, and own THREE of them (White, Linen, and Dusty Orange) At 5' 2", and approx. 107-110lbs., I considered all reviews and ordered size Small Petite. They are PERFECTION! After laundering on gentle, I hang my shirts to dry. (This seems to give them a tad of "sizing".) I prefer to touch up with an iron...for a "crisp" look! I wear them over tanks, tie them at waist, belt them, use them for swimsuit cover-ups, etc. The possibilities are ENDLESS! (One of my fave styles is to combine this shirt with my LL Bean Lightweight Plaid Scarf and Khaki Capris!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by entropy13 BRING BACK THE PLUS SIZE LINEN BIG SHIRT!!!
I bought this shirt in several colors (all the ones I could tolerate) and wore them all out, and now they don't sell it in plus sizes anymore. So sad! I check back every few weeks, hoping against hope...but so far, no.
The fit was casual and perfect (well, the sleeves could have stood to be another inch longer), and I loved the material. The colors were a mixed bag for my tastes, but the minty green, indigo, and lavender were lovely. Now I'm regretting not braving the sky blue (even though it's not a favorite). The cost seemed on the high side until I realized how much wear I got out of these (years each, at least!)
Seriously hoping they bring it back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rebushka Mixed feelings about this shirt
"Big" in the name is misleading as the Medium was short in the yoke and sleeves for LL Bean standards. The cuffs seemed to be cut on a weird diagonal and are short. The colours that I bought were stunning in real life, the pale blue and the natural linen colour. I'll try the large and hope it fits better because it was a beautiful shirt.

This shirt is very beautiful, lightweight, feminine and true to size. I got 2 of them. Seriously, get it while you can.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Roseangel Neck too big
I love the beautiful linen in this shirt. Too bad the neck was about two inches too big. Also, it is not a 'big shirt', because it fits like a regular shirt.
I own other linen shirts from Bean, which I love. Too bad I had to send this one back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TallGirlTwo Too close fitting for a "big shirt"
I'm 5' 10" tall and evenly proportioned. I bought this shirt in my usual size, a large, to wear over tank tops with my summer khakis. This shirt does not provide the loose comfortable fit I usually associate with "big shirts". It is more fitted. For me, the sleeves and arm holes are too narrow to allow for unconstrained movement. I'm reluctantly returning the shirt. I say reluctantly because I like the medium weight linen fabric and I love the print. Apart from the too narrow a fit issue, the only other detractor is the fact that the pocket is a bit too big and ill placed. I'd have been willing to overlook that if the fit wasn't so close.
