Rated 5 out of 5áby SassafrassTraveler Carryall Rolling Underseat Bag
I love this bag. I bought one about 5 years ago and have given it hard use in domestic and international travel, and it's held up well. It fits easily under the seat on most airlines, so I don't have to struggle with overhead bins, which is important to me. It's light and maneuverable enough to use on trains and metros. I've recently purchased two more as gifts for family members who admired mine. The newer ones are a little narrower, but still hold enough for a 2-3 day trip.

This bag is well constructed with well sewn seams, heavy duty zippers, sturdy wheels, comfortable, adjustable handle and will fit under most airline seats.
It is relatively light but will hold all the things you need to keep with you and will carry your computer as well.
There are many zipper closure pocket so deal with all your "stuff". You can keep your passport and wallet handy and can stuff in your phone, jewelry, loose change etc. to go through security and easily retrieve those things on the other side.

Since I can't find the order in my history, which ends in July 2012, I can attest that my husband and I have owned our bags for at least two years.
We ordered them in black and had initials monogrammed in silver using a different style for each. Both versions of the monogramming look great and is quite easy to see.
More important, however, is the bags' durability. My husband travels quite frequently for work, and because we live in Europe, we also try to get out and see things as frequently as possible. The bags have been on many journeys via rail, air, and car. They've been dragged up nonworking train station escalators way too many times, then thrown from the platform into the train. They've been shoved, along with Bean's rolling duffels, into the back of a teensy-tiny rental car and had the hatch slammed on them. They've survived Ryan Air. (For those of you who are unfamiliar with that spectacularly cut-rate carrier, do a web search and you'll understand what a feat that is. ;-)
After all that, both bags look great.
Because the bag conforms to the most rigid airline carry-on standards, you're not going to get a week's worth of clothes in them. My husband has, however, taken just it on short trips. But, being a guy, he is perfectly content to use whatever the hotel provides for soap and shampoo; that no-makeup thing is a help, too.
When I fly back to the States, the trip that seems to require the most stuff to make it survivable, here's what I put into the bag's body and still have room to spare: laptop, e-reader/book, an empty water bottle, a lightweight travel blanket (comes in a pouch), an inflatable neck pillow and cover, the requisite clear plastic bag of non-lethal toiletries, fleece or lightweight jacket. The pockets hold my wallet, travel wallet/passport, pen, notebook, etc.
The only problem I have with my bag is with its handle. It often doesn't extend to its full length when I first pull on it; that necessitates me having to give it a good jiggle (and sometimes a couple of cuss words if I'm in a hurry). I however decided the issue wasn't worth sending the bag back to Bean, tho I'm certain that they'd happily replace it for me.
My husband has experienced no problems with his.
Bottom line: Excellent product, especially for the reasonable price. (Full disclosure: we got ours on sale.)
Oh, and the $350, supposed carry-on-to-end-all-carry-ons that my husband purchased about five years ago from a high-end tech shop? That's up in the attic getting ready to be sold at our next local flea market.

No more carrying a heavy bag around the airport! This will fit easily under the seat. Plenty of pockets. Lightweight yet has rollets. Well constructed. For a quick overnight trip, this is perfect. For a longer trip, this holds all those little things you need to have available in the airport and on the plane. It's attractive too--not a jumble of small make-do bags.

I bought this carryon for my trip to Key West. It did NOT fit under the seat on American Airlines. My other luggage is also LLBean Lite Weight and the bag did not fit on the handle as expected. It blocked the pull out handle on the larger bag and I had to pull two pieces of luggage behind me...while using a cane to walk !! NOT POSSIBLE I discovered. I will be returning this bag. ON the positive side, it did go down the aisle in the plane.

Rated 5 out of 5áby jotogo Great little bag!
I have had to purchase several of these for family members because they had "bag envy"! There has never been a problem stashing under the seat when I have flown.....until my last trip. It will not fit under the aisle seat on Southwest or Airtran because they have made that space smaller with a metal bar. Bummer! But I still love the durability, convenience, and size of this rolling bag. Perfect for a train trip to Chicago for the weekend.

I purchased this rolling bag along with the large rolling Carryall bag both in Royal blue for a recent airline trip. I was looking for lightweight luggage to replace my older heavier other brand named set from years ago and wanted a small carry on bag to slip over the handle of a larger bag to make rolling the two convenient and comfortable. The strap of the small bag was big enough to fit over the handle of the large bag without a problem. It was convenient having both together but there wasn't enough room to comfortably hold the large bag's handle when the smaller bag was installed. I squeezed my hand in but had to stop to adjust several times when rolling the set and even used the small bag's handle to roll but it wasn't as secure. Either the larger bag handle has to be longer or the smaller bag not as tall to be comfortable to hold. Also I need to remember to not have the smaller bag too heavy as the set become top heavy and falls over. The Carry on bag had ample space for all my needs so I highly recommend it. I love the Royal blue color, as well.

I waited too long to order to test in the airport, but this bag turns out to be great for work as well. It's durable, roomy, the color's great - I got plum - and the value and lifetime garauntee beats other manufacturers. I'll be traveling again soon and am sure this bag will continue to satisfy. Thanks, LL Bean, you've created another winning product!

I bought this for myself and then realized it was perfect for a friend who only wants a small roll-on that she can put under the seat in front or in a small overhead compartment. We were both delighted with the high quality, the roomy main compartment and the great new color. The LL Bean small roll-on with its single, main compartment is a great advantage over other brands that have dividers more proper to a rolling brief case. It is much handier and convenient for folded clothing, toiletries and accessories when going through TSA controls, for example.

áby kpin Great bag
I love this bag. I'll be flying a few months from now, but I packed it with most of the things I'm bringing and they all fit. If you are a light packer this can easily fit enough clothing for a week. The side shoe pocket is great. There is an inside mesh pocket on the main flap, which I didn't notice online, but it's nice to have. I would prefer if the inside fabric was a lighter color rather than black, but this really is a wonderful piece of luggage. Handle & wheels are both very smooth. Really like the plum color.
