Rated 5 out of 5 by Oatmeal830 'Under the seat' carry on luggage with wheels.
Another terrific, quality product from LL Bean.
Light weight, spacious with a few useful 'pockets'. Sturdy collapsible handle, dense quality wheels and substantial outer fabric. It is a great product and handles well in the airport and fits great under airplane seats. This product will tolerate a lot of travel miles. Don't hesitate with this product......Buy it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lv2Trvl Love this bag
This bag changed for the better since I purchased my first one 5 years ago. It is lighter, has double zippers on front compartment, and inside it has a nice spot for my iPad. I can fit an extra pair of shoes, 2 books, magazine, a sewing project, medications, and my purse inside so it is the only thing I take to the departure gate. The old one had a mesh pocket on the side for my water bottle, but it meant I couldn't roll it down the isle once onboard. The new one has a side pocket that fits into the bag, making it easy to roll down the isle. Have only used it on one trip, but it like it so much better than my old one. I definatly recommend this bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by rosebeetle design flaw
This is a fine bag except for a significant design flaw: the strap on the back which is supposed to fit over the handle of a pullman does not actually do so. The strap will not fit over the handles of either of my LLBean pullmans. This requires the traveler to tow the pullman as well as this carry-on bag. The location of the handles on the carry-on are so positioned as to make it impossible to stack the carry-on onto the handle of the pullman and hold both handles. Were it not for this flaw I would recommend the bag. It is plenty roomy. The side pockets are small but adequate for stowing flat items. The larger of the 3 front pockets is very roomy, and the other front pockets are satisfactory for several books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PhoebeBeebe Does what it claims
I love this bag because it makes me feel safe. I purchased it for two features: its light weight and small size. I have difficulty handling a larger bag on stairways, escalators, and public transportation when I'm traveling. The small size makes me pack conservatively, taking only what I need and rolling everything tightly. The size and weight of this bag make it manageable, so that I can also carry a purse, tote, or jacket, and still have a hand free for stair railings, doors, or swiping a subway card. I recommend this bag for someone who wants to "travel light--travel right."

Rated 5 out of 5 by SarahLLBean Short trip wonder
Perfect size for a 3-4 day trip. Side pockets are an asset even though one extends into main packing area. Since airlines are reconfiguring seats, it doesn't always slide under the one in front of you. Very easy to maneuver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by verypickyguy decent bag that could be great
My wife and I purchased these bags to avoid plane-side baggage checks due to small overhead bins, and we wanted to have a wheeled bag for those long gate runs. We also wanted to be able to piggy back on our large checked bags for check-in and customs where you must manage all your luggage.
This bag is well built, but needs a few refinements. First, it has fabric bellows at the hinge side of the main compartment opening that allow it to be opened only half way. So you have to hold the lid open with one hand and pack with the other. Silly. We cut them out.
Secondly, the strap that is intended to slide over a larger bag to piggy back them is so tight that you can barely fit it over a handle. It should have a Velcro size adjustment. Also, this strap is so high on the carry-on that the handle of our Pullmans won't reach it, rendering the strap useless. The piggy back strap should be in the middle of the bag.
Finally, it needs a water bottle strap or holder.
Size-wise this bag is great, and construction is typical high Bean quality. Make these tweaks and you'd have the perfect carry-on.

Carrying my laptop in a backpack was becoming painful, so I am delighted with this compact, inexpensive, and sturdy solution. I can fit my laptop, clothes for the first leg of my trip, and notions.

Rated 2 out of 5 Not at all what I expected
I feel bad giving this a poor review as I was hoping it would be everything I expected and more. The bag is small but roomy, but the opening is so annoying because it folds out but the flap doesn't lay flat so you have to stand the bag up and keep one hand on the flap in order to pack it. I could live with that but what I couldn't live it and what drove me insane while traveling last month, was that the handle was rickety, at one point it wouldn't retract and I had to manually press every button from the top down to get it to retract. AND any bag, including the L.L. Bean Carryall Tote Bag would not stay on the bag. It kept slipping off because the top of the this rolling bag is narrow and small. Short of zip tying your tote bag to the handles, it will not stay on. This drove me nuts. And of course it kept tipping forward every time I had to let go of the handle to do business such as checking in. And to top it off, it fit in the overhead bin but it was too short to place anything in front of it and too puffy to place anything on top - a total waste of space. I will be returning this bag at the next chance I get. I will look into the Sportmans Expandable Underseat Bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RCarlton love this bag!
This bag is fantastic. It's light, fits under the seat, and rolls well. It holds clothes for 2-3 days, and my tablet fits nicely in the front pocket. Perfect for a short work trip or weekend getaway. I also have the Carryall backpack and the toiletry bag, and they work nicely with this small bag.

Love it - have two of them and are easy to handle both at the same time. Holds more than I expected.
