Rated 3 out of 5 by digitalmagistra Bummed that my computer didn't fit
I was sooooo excited to find this piece in the factory store; I've been wanting one for years but didn't want to pay the full price. I loved the design, the multiple pockets, the size, etc. I got home looking forward to packing it for my trip the next day. etc. Since I would have used it for an underseat bag for my computer, books, etc. I was so mad that my 17" computer didn't fit in the bag at all, no matter what I did. After reading the reviews about how it didn't fit under the seat for many people as well, I'm going to have to return it. Bummed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Charlieblue Just the right size
I was looking for a carry on bag with wheels that would be easy to handle. This piece of luggage worked well. It fit under the window seat and was also light enough to easily lift into the overhead bin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GoToItaly Great substitute for old underseat bag
My other underseat carryall had broken its wheels and I got this one to replace it. I just got back from a trip and this new one was fantastic. Very roomy and good pockets. Looking forward to using it a lot in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fidget1333 Roll on suitcase fit under plane seat as promised.
I used the new rolling suitcase on our recent trip to Alaska. It was great! It has several compartments of different sizes which is great for organizing the smaller stuff. My favorite part, and the reason I purchased the case, is that it fit great under the seat on the airplane. I am short and I had a terrible time with the overhead bins so this rolling case is great! Certain airlines let you board early if you don't need to use an overhead bin, another plus. My husband is considering getting one of the roll on cases foe himself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Leonoras Perfect size for carry-on
Everything is perfect about this carryall as far as the size to carry on the plane, the room for packing, the extra pockets and the ease of rolling the bag. The only downside is the way the bag is set-up for actual packing. If one wants to lay the carryall flat, the top keeps flopping down. In order to avoid that, the carryall has to be packed with it standing upright and then all of the clothes fall out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nicknamechoiceislimited Nice size
I purchased this as a gift for a friend. I have not used it, nor do I intend to. It seems like a nice size with lots of storage pockets. My biggest issue is cosmetic - I asked for it to be monogrammed. There was no choice of monogramming colors and they've monogrammed it in black (the bag I ordered was blue). You can barely see the monogram - black on blue isn't exactly conducive to high visibility. If the purpose of the monogram is to identify the bag on a luggage belt at the airport, this completely defeats the purpose. I hope someone at LL Bean is reading these reviews and rectifies the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SassafrassTraveler Carryall Rolling Underseat Bag
I love this bag. I bought one about 5 years ago and have given it hard use in domestic and international travel, and it's held up well. It fits easily under the seat on most airlines, so I don't have to struggle with overhead bins, which is important to me. It's light and maneuverable enough to use on trains and metros. I've recently purchased two more as gifts for family members who admired mine. The newer ones are a little narrower, but still hold enough for a 2-3 day trip.

This bag is well constructed with well sewn seams, heavy duty zippers, sturdy wheels, comfortable, adjustable handle and will fit under most airline seats.
It is relatively light but will hold all the things you need to keep with you and will carry your computer as well.
There are many zipper closure pocket so deal with all your "stuff". You can keep your passport and wallet handy and can stuff in your phone, jewelry, loose change etc. to go through security and easily retrieve those things on the other side.

Since I can't find the order in my history, which ends in July 2012, I can attest that my husband and I have owned our bags for at least two years.
We ordered them in black and had initials monogrammed in silver using a different style for each. Both versions of the monogramming look great and is quite easy to see.
More important, however, is the bags' durability. My husband travels quite frequently for work, and because we live in Europe, we also try to get out and see things as frequently as possible. The bags have been on many journeys via rail, air, and car. They've been dragged up nonworking train station escalators way too many times, then thrown from the platform into the train. They've been shoved, along with Bean's rolling duffels, into the back of a teensy-tiny rental car and had the hatch slammed on them. They've survived Ryan Air. (For those of you who are unfamiliar with that spectacularly cut-rate carrier, do a web search and you'll understand what a feat that is. ;-)
After all that, both bags look great.
Because the bag conforms to the most rigid airline carry-on standards, you're not going to get a week's worth of clothes in them. My husband has, however, taken just it on short trips. But, being a guy, he is perfectly content to use whatever the hotel provides for soap and shampoo; that no-makeup thing is a help, too.
When I fly back to the States, the trip that seems to require the most stuff to make it survivable, here's what I put into the bag's body and still have room to spare: laptop, e-reader/book, an empty water bottle, a lightweight travel blanket (comes in a pouch), an inflatable neck pillow and cover, the requisite clear plastic bag of non-lethal toiletries, fleece or lightweight jacket. The pockets hold my wallet, travel wallet/passport, pen, notebook, etc.
The only problem I have with my bag is with its handle. It often doesn't extend to its full length when I first pull on it; that necessitates me having to give it a good jiggle (and sometimes a couple of cuss words if I'm in a hurry). I however decided the issue wasn't worth sending the bag back to Bean, tho I'm certain that they'd happily replace it for me.
My husband has experienced no problems with his.
Bottom line: Excellent product, especially for the reasonable price. (Full disclosure: we got ours on sale.)
Oh, and the $350, supposed carry-on-to-end-all-carry-ons that my husband purchased about five years ago from a high-end tech shop? That's up in the attic getting ready to be sold at our next local flea market.

No more carrying a heavy bag around the airport! This will fit easily under the seat. Plenty of pockets. Lightweight yet has rollets. Well constructed. For a quick overnight trip, this is perfect. For a longer trip, this holds all those little things you need to have available in the airport and on the plane. It's attractive too--not a jumble of small make-do bags.
