We are impressed with the simplicity of this tie-down, and the ease with which it can be set in the ground and moved to another spot when needed. What we didn't expect was that our 60 lb. border collie could exert enough force when chasing a squirrel to snap-off one of the three "wings" right where it is attached to the center of the tie-down. The metal stakes held, but the aluminum frame failed.

Bought this tie-down 2 months ago and seemed to work fine.
My 5 month old golden retriever ran towards me (weighs 35lbs.) and snapped one of the posts near the center of the tie-down.

Great find LL Bean. I bought this and the recommended rope to go with it. The rope was way to long and only had a clip on one end. However, a regular leash worked fine for my 80 lb lab. Great for camping and easy to set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HALFMAINER Great tool
In New York, our dogs have a large fenced yard to run around in so when we visit our place in Maine, we do not have that luxury. Needless to say at this point we do depend on tie outs because our city dogs love to chase the wildlife and I do not want to test them and hope if they got loose they would come home. Our 90+ lb dogs would pull the old style metal stakes out of the ground rather easily so we opted to try this based on the reviews. I was surprised to read that some dogs pulled this out of the ground because ours performed as stated but we also made sure it was not placed in soft soil. They realized quickly to stop their forward motion when they felt tension in reaching end of line. In addition, love that the line would not wrap around and get tangled. I think it is a great tool, made well and definitely serves its purpose.

by K9RescuePack Holds even a 200 pound dog safely
This Pet Tie Down Item #:TA260832 works amazing even our rescued 200 pound St Bernard can't budget this beast of a tie down. The design and angle of the stakes makes it so strong and sturdy I do not recommend you purchase the Check Cord that is suggested as a companion purchase unless your dog is under 40 pounds. We will be getting at least one more of these in the near future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by kate59 amazing tie out
I purchased this as all the other tie outs I had tried did not work. Thought it was a little pricy but was very very pleased with the results. I have a hound/ red tick mix that can get out of ANYTHING.This is the only one she has not pulled out yet. It is well worth its weight in gold to me. Have purchased two more for my other dogs. The best thing is that its portable to take camping and such. i WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by denalidiamond123 Freedom when not safe to unleash
We haven't actually tried this yet - probably won't till weather is good enough to use motorhome, which is when we need to keep our GS close to our campsite without having to hold her on a leash. Or maybe when we are doggie sitting for a family member whose pet is not contained by our invisible yard fence. But I read the other reviews, some of which said it was 'too heavy' - well, yeah, if it is to hold a 100 lb or more dog in, then it probably be heavier than something to hold a Chihuahua on. Anyhoo, It looks to me to be a good sturdy, long range freedom runner and I can't wait to try it out.
