I bought these boots for my 10 year old son. He has not had the chance to try them out in the cold and snow, yet, but my husband has these boots, and has found them to be very warm. There is no question that they will be waterproof. I am looking forward to warm, dry feet after a boy's romp in the woods and creek this winter.

My daughter wore these in North Dakota last winter and she said she wouldn't have anything else. They kept her feet warm and dry. I got a pair for this year's winter in the panhandle of Texas. I'm out all winter feeding cattle, and my feet freeze. I'm looking forward to wearing these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by glofstr Decent but not worth the money
The boots have some positives and negatives. On balance, passable but cannot recommend anyone purchase them.
Positives - look decent, not great fashion but good appearance for the type of boot. Waterproof and well made. People complimented me spontaneously on the boots.
Negatives - Not really easy on/off as advertised. I am a male, medium build, 5'9" and 192 Lbs. A struggle so I tend to wear them less. The calves are too tight even for my build, they should be larger. If you are a heavyweight, do not even consider these, they will not fit well. Also, larger calve openings would allow you to put your pants into the boot if you wish.
Not as warm as advertised at all. Wore them in 7 degree weather, feet got cold in 10 minutes. Above 25 degrees, they are warm enough but clearly NOT the 40 below as advertised. Was not expecting that hype to be true but should be able to handle down to zero at least.
Overall, I thought about returning them but I decided to keep them after looking around some more.
Decent boots, will probably last, well made and there is the LL Bean guarantee but not as advertised and really not worth the money.

My husband usually wears a size 13 but this boot in a 14 fit him very comfortably. I had to laugh when he said they felt like standing on marshmallows. Can't get much more comfortable than that! Like most of the country we have a good bit of snow and it's far worse than freezing out so these boots are right at home here. They keep feet dry and oh so warm without sweating! If you know of anyone who spends time outdoors they will surely appreciate a pair of these quality boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JennyMac72 Great Boot But Run Large
My husband has an average size foot. He wears a size 9.5. I have read just about every review on this item:
1. Half say the run big
2. Half say they run small.
I ordered my husband a size 10. They say for half sizes go up to the next size up. I did and they were to large. The only downside is the returns take about two and a half weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed that the size 9 is the perfect fit.

Way too heavy for me to walk around in, just felt uncomfortable. When I wear boots its usually to work in around the farm and most of the day. These wore me out just walking across the living room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wavicle fantastic boots
I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas and he LOVES them. He's complained about all the other winter boots he's had over the years, but he has nothing but praise for these and he goes to them first even if it's not that cold out. This morning he wore them while snowblowing our 200' driveway in 0 degrees (the latest blizzard to hit New England) and he said his feet never felt cold. He had tried on the chore version of the muck boots in a store but they didn't stock the winter version so we ordered them from LL Bean, feeling pretty confident we had the sizing right -- he normally wears an 11.5 but the 11 was a good fit even with medium thick socks, so for him they seemed to run a little bit large. He did notice that the chore boot had a bigger tab on the heel which allowed them to come off more easily than the Arctic boots do, but that's a minor issue. So far they're a huge hit!

These boots cost more than I wanted to pay but they are very warm, light weight, waterproof and easy to slip on and off, comfortable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hammerhead2012 Quality built but horrible fit
Well built boot but extremely tight around the calves. Sitting down for an hour my feet were stone cold from lack of circulation. If you have big calves I wouldn't recommend these boots. I went back to lacrosse alpha pro boots with a wider top along with an adjustment to open or cinch the top of boot.
