I love these boots. I have been looking for these for 5 years. All my boots before this were a disappointment in one way or another.
These boots keep my knees steady and cushioned. No knee pain after long hikes. Rocky trails are comfortable to walk on. No pain in my toe joints or arches. Perfect fit. I would recommend these boots to anyone who experiences foot or knee problems when hiking up and down hill.

I purchased these boots last year when the soles fell off my other boots 2 weeks before a trip to Washington State. I ordered several pairs of boots and tried them around the house. These felt the best right out of the box with the Cresta Hikers a close second. I wore them for 2 weeks of hiking 4 to 6 miles a day. They are very comfortable and do fit very well right out of the box BUT I returned them because the soles of these boots did not offer the protection from rocky walking surfaces that I was used to and expecting. They also looked way more used in comparison to my old pair that I had worn for 4 years. I am currently breaking in a pair of Cresta hikers and find the soles way more protective and the support is stronger for weak ankles.Thank you LL Bean for standing behind what you sell!!

I'm on my second pair of these. They're durable, the blue color is great, they're wide so my feet don't feel squished, and they don't need any break-in time. I recommend these to everyone!!

This hiking boot was bought for my wife, because we enjoy walking/hiking in the winter months. The boots are comfortable and keeps her feet warm and dry.

I bought these boots for a trip to Alaska because I need waterproof, warm, comfortable hiking shoes. I haven't tried them on the trail yet but these boots seem to fit the criteria. My feet are somewhat narrow but I plan on wearing thick socks so the width is not a problem.

The other reviews were right - these boots were extremely comfortable right out of the box. Our first hike was a 3100' mtn, and I had no "hot" spots or feet complaints at the end of the day. And, the boots are definitely lighter without any compromise of strength. I'm looking forward to more hiking!

I was the only one out of a party of 4 that had dry feet after 24 hours of snow and rain on my most recent backpacking trip. These boots performed above expectations during very wet conditions.
They do get a bit cool inside once the temp drops below freezing, might not want to wear on a very cold trip.
The toes are adequately wide, while the heel is narrow enough to keep your feet from moving around inside the boot. Way more comfortable than my last pair of Merrels. They are light weight for their size and are still comfy after all day wear.

Twisted my ankle on loose gravel during Memorial Day weekend this year. I was wearing low-cut hikers. Needless to say, I went on a hunt for better hiking boots, hi-cut ones. Purchased several from LLBean to try out. With their awesome return policy, you can't go wrong. Verdict: The Salomon Quest Hikers are THE BEST!!! Extremely comfortable right out of the box. No need to break them in. They felt like if I were walking on pillows. Styling is great too. They're good looking. Quality is superb!!! And traction, NO twisted ankles...yet. As for the price, yes they'll break the bank BUT I believe you get what you pay for. Besides, a visit to the doctor is far more expensive. Look at these boots as an investment. They're built to last. Overall, I truly believe I've found the BEST HIKING BOOTS in the market. Thank you LLBean.

These are wonderful boots for day hiking. I've worn the Cresta hiking boots for years, and the current pair inexplicably started giving me blisters. I ordered a new pair at the same time I ordered the Salomens to compare the two. After talking with LLBean customer service, I learned that the Cresta's have a stiffer sole and are designed to use with heavy packs. Those days are behind me, and I find the Salomen boots are just right for rocky day hikes. There is even more ankle support in these and they seem little lighter in weight. They fit my narrow foot perfectly. They were comfortable right out of the box - and no blisters.

Ok I have an old pair of LL Bean hiking boots (1996ish but they are indestructable) so maybe I am behind the times. These boots are way more comfortable out of the box than my last pair .
Good ankle support but back is cut slightly lower so there is not there is no " foot cuff" feel after you lace them. Love them and even though my others are not worn out yet , I am keeping them due to the comfort
