Rated 3 out of 5 by tiki21 more of a suggestion
can't offer a star rating yet so i just picked 3. these are some suggestions because they said they took other suggestions. this is the only take-along set of panniers that i found at a great price that is visible and reflective from all directions. that's the great part. but they appear to have measurements not in keeping with the norm for grocery panniers. they would PERFECT with a few changes and could be used for a lot of different purposes. a waterproof top or cover would be great especially in climates that often have rain. all yellow or yellow and orange all around would be fantastic (but what they have is certainly better than anything out there). making it the same size as most grocery bag panniers (11w, 8h, 13l for a paper shopping bag) would make it good for shopping, camping, school and nearly anything else one could think of (the waterproof dome top would cover a bigger laptop)...an all in one perfect system. and the and the change in shape might make it easier to peddle on some bikes. just my 2 cents. but does seem like a good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BeebeT Great for commute, durable
This bag is fantastic for the daily commute. I ride 4 miles to the university and unstrap the bag to carry into my office after every ride. The yellow reflective material enhances visibility. The bags are large enough for most of my medium sized books (200-600 pages) however my laptop will stick out of the top. So, I wouldn't use this for laptops if rain, mud, and danger are of concern. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the bag. To the customer: I would recommend this product to everyone commuting to school/work. Be sure to wear gloves when putting on and taking off the bag because the bungee cords need breaking in. The cords will scratch your hands for many uses until they stretch out to your rack. To L.L. Bean: I suggest making the rain flap more resistant to rain. The flap will not prevent water from soiling the contents if the rider encounters a storm.

Info from my son, given as a gift. Easy to install, balanced, great for grocery shopping, it can carry more than a backpack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PrepperJohn Great Panniers for Shopping
These Panniers seem to be of excellent quality and are very convenient for shopping in our local village. I wish there had been instructions on how to attach to the rear deck of my shopping bike, as the various belts and snaps don't line up well. The elastic hooks seem to work great, but be careful that they don't snap back when connecting, since they could cause an injury.

I was looking for a way to bring groceries home on my folding bike. Other panniers I looked at were too big. The back of my foot would hit when pedaling. This one is perfect and is still big enough to handle all the groceries my bike can handle. The neon green helps make me more visible. I recent got this so I can't attest to it's long term durability. So far I am very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pluck59 Grocery review
Positives: I chose the yellow panniers for increased visibility. The bags perform as advertised. I can drop my helmet and vest into a bag and go shop. The bags are well made and I recently carried a one gallon jug of water with no problem. I like the strap on the back of each bag which a light can be hung from. Negatives: I had to move the bags backward as to not interfere with the pedaling motion. The biggest drawback is the drawstring opening at the top. In the event of a downpour I feel the small opening at the top would allow water to intrude. Perhaps design an elastic flap to cover the opening when the bag isn't fully extended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FrankenNewYork I've got big feet
I wear a size 13 boot and when I ride I do graze the pans with my heels but just barely so it isn't a real problem (and I think I have a work around to space them a little farther back on the rack.) They seem sturdy, I wish they were bigger but they're big enough for me to carry groceries. I've seen other reviews saying that they are difficult to get off the bike but I had no problems once I stopped trying to use the hooks to pull on the cords; they are just too small to get a grip on. I get the bungee between my forefinger and thumb and just push down on it and position the hook with the other hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by je11ybean A perfect 10!
If there was a 10 star rating option - the panniers would score a perfect 10! I've had mine for about 6 months and LOVE them! Weather permitting, I do almost all of my local errands on my bicycle. It's amazing how much I can stuff in my panniers plus people rave about them everywhere I go! The bright green panniers are great for visibility plus they look wonderful with my vintage hot pink Cruiser bicycle! One of my best purchases ever from LLBean!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by IslandCyclist Great product!
I purchased the grocery panniers in high-vis yellow, and they did not disappoint.
I can see these bags through walls! No way is someone in a car going to be able to claim he didn't see me from now on!
Aside from being EXTREMELY noticeable (a good thing on a bike) these bags are HUGE. I haven't used them for grocery shopping yet, but I think I could probably fit a large child in each bag comfortably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Farmwifemomof4 Not just for Groceries!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am really glad I bought these bags. They are really easy to install and remove. I have used them twice for riding to my sons baseball games. I was able to haul their gloves, water coolers and extra sweatshirts. I plan to use them for hauling picnic lunches with the family along some of the local bike trails. I bought the black one because of previous reviews about the bags getting dirty while using bike trails. Great product! I am finding reasons to ride my bike now :D
