Rated 4 out of 5 by Summerwindnc Toasty, waterproof, perfect for the Coldest weather
This coat allows you to venture out in the worst weather snug and dry. Unlike other down coats, you have room to wear a warm sweater, or fleece as it is not snuggly fitted.
Down inside the hood will keep you warm, deep fit allows for a knitted hat to layer up for the best protection from the worst weather winter has to deliver.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dashin2424 Awesome coat for the winters in Colorado
I bought the vibrant red and it is vibrant, however I love it, looks beautiful against the pure white snow ! Very very warm. I am concerned about the zipper,,,,really should be a metal zipper, hopefully it will hold out...so far so good.

I returned it for a credit, and never even tried it on! I couldn't unzip the zipper, and I was afraid I'd break it. I saw a lot of negative comments about the zipper in the reviews, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway.
The parka was also too short. I'm 5'7", and it came to the top of my hips. (I like a coat that covers my hips#. The color #Navy Heather) was the only thing I liked about it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MaineGirlForever Great parka, however...take " vibrant" seriously!
Really great parka (I've had one before). Super warm for Maine's cold winters. However...I ordered "vibrant red" this time and, um, LLBean really means it when they say "vibrant". It's almost neon! It kind of makes me look like a fat red tomato! I may go to the flagship store and try on the other colors to see if I like any of the other colors better, once they get their winter stock in. In the meantime the coat is sitting packed up and sealed in the bag it was shipped in, now sitting with the winter things. (The red was so very "vibrant" it was kind of mocking me every time I walked by it so I packed it away for now!) On the other hand, if I fell into a snow bank there would be no getting lost! :-)

Loved the look and warmth of coat. I ordered a size larger than I wear so that I could wear bulky sweaters underneath, but it was at least one size too small with lightweight summer clothes underneath.

It's July and I can't give an accurate rating as far as warmth or durability. It's way too hot to think about putting the parka on. However, it did arrive timely, in good condition, the color and the fit are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2pleased Best coat for winter
I purchased my first parka back about fifteen years ago. I work outdoors and wore the parka every day for those fifteen years. The fit was perfect and very comfortable. It always kept me toasty warm. It lived up to the claim of water resistant on the occasions I was caught without my rain gear. It washed and dried beautifully and always looked sharp, even as it got older.
The workmanship was super, made like iron. I especially loved all the pockets. Of course it did fade a bit from all the exposure to the sun but it always looked great. I recently purchased my second parka and look forward to having it for many years. Expensive to begin with but, if you average it out well worth the price.

Warm AND waterproof--great for cold and snowy days of course, but even better when it 38 and raining! Collar is lined with a soft material and zips all the way up to the chin. Length is good--to upper thigh. I ordered a small and it's roomy (I'm 5'6" and i usually wear a size a 6-8). Lots of pockets. I wish they had better color choices though (like twilight blue or periwinkle or emerald green)

Rated 4 out of 5 by NYDogwalkinggrandma Super warm
Kept me toasty warm and dry during the coldest days.
Plenty of room for layers underneath.
Zipper is horrible. Even when I am careful, it jams.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lopez metal zipper please
This coat is wonderfully warm in every way. I so wanted to keep it, but I returned it because of the zipper. I read other reviews before buying it, that complained about the zipper, but I still ordered it, thinking that it might not be as bad as the reviewers said. Unfortunately, it was. I was often delayed in leaving places because I couldn't get my zipper started. Once I got the coat on, I was often unable to get the zipper to disengage to get the coat off. At those times, I had to step out of the coat with the zipper still engaged, then climb into the coat, feet first, to wear it again. It would be so wonderful if LLBean decided to give this coat the quality I expect from LLBean, and had it made with a metal zipper.
