Rated 3 out of 5 by Angels Nice Quality Construction but Not Nice Fabric
The last time I bought one of these fleece jackets was for my teen daughter, about 6 years ago. That coat was great, she wore it for several years, and if it hadn't been lavender, I would have handed it down to my son. He needed a new fleece and so we ordered this in the size 8. He is 9, about 51.5" tall, 60 lbs. The jacket fit him in width, but the front was a little short. I'm not sure why Bean kids coats seem to be too short in the front in recent years. The other problem he had with this coat was the fabric. He couldn't stand the feel of it. It has a unpleasant coated feeling and it's not like the old Polartec ones Bean used to sell. Very disappointing. Please bring back the original Polartec jackets! I wiil have to buy him a coat elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CoastalMom Excellent Fit, Perfect Weight
This is the 3rd Trail Model Fleece purchased for our 6 year old son. It is the perfect weight here in the Carolinas. He wears the hood and it stays on, even while running. No matter how many times we wash these coats, they always look great enough to pass to another child when outgrown! LOVE THEM!

mkkk Good jacket, lots of pockets
This is a good jacket, with soft thick fleece. My son loves that it had pockets on the inside and on the outside. There is a reflective patch on the back that I like for when he goes to school.
The colors are a little hard to tell from the screen, so be warned that the sapphire is a lot more purple than the name would suggest. The zipper pull is also purple.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Parentof3 did not wear well
This jacket has been well-loved but after about four washes, the fleece looks pilly and the wrists are stretched out. We've had many LLBean fleeces over the years for our kids. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Canadienne Fleece jacket
As one of the reviewers mentioned, it is not Polartec, so you won't be getting the super-warm fleece jacket (if you want the warmth of Polartec, you can choose LLB fleece-lined flannel shirts for kids or the famous fleece-lined hoodies). Knowing that, it is by itself a good well-made light-to-medium-warmth fleece hooded jacket. Generously-sized, long in the body, with a good quality zipper and a nice assortment of colors to choose from. The lightness of fleece allows it to be also used as a layering piece underneath a jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Audra Great jacket!
This is our 3rd or 4th jacket depending on which of my kids are getting them. :) Great quality. They didn't use Polartec fleece but you really can't tell the difference. They do run a little big. My daughter is 5 and I ordered the Little Kid M 5-6, and it's a little big on her the S 4 would've fit better but all I have to do is roll up the sleeves a little, she will grow into it so we'll get at least 2-3 years out of it and that's fine with me. The Snapdragon color is beautiful. The jacket is so soft and the kids love them! I will keep buying these jackets as long as they have them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lee61 Fleece hooded Jacket
Just bought this jacket for my niece for Christmas...I am only giving this 4 stars because... it should be about $10 less then it is! The jacket is very soft and I am sure she will love wearing it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by texasmom2011 seen much better from LLBean
I was very disappointed when I had my daughter try on the jacket. It was poorly cut and SO thin!! I expected better from LLBean. I shipped it back and bought a very similar jacket from a competitor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shopportunist Where's the Polartec?
I have to say that I'm truly disappointed that LL Bean is no longer using Polartec fleece to make this jacket. I don't care what anyone says - Polartec makes the best fleece, with the best tactile quality, hands down.
This new fleece feels qualitatively different, and I can only hope that it will feel less cheesy once it's washed. I know Polartec costs more, but LL Bean just raised the price as it is, so why not just continue with the Polartec? Please bring it back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CandiceM Runs big
I am quite happy with this product however, it runs rather large. I ordered a Med for my 5 yr old. The size says Medium is equiv. to size 5-6. My daughter is usually a 5/6 in most clothing. However this fleece was a little too big on her. I prob should have gone with the Small but decided to roll up the sleeves and hope to get a few years out of the Medium.
