The pants were way too big for a 6x. Too wide in the waist and too big in the legs.

The waist size on the 5-6 size and on the 6x-7 size is way, way too big. so much so that when adjusting the elastic strap to its maximum, the jeans are so bunched up that the children don't want to wear them because it hurts their skin around the waist. Also, the difference in length between the 5-6 and 6x-7 is too great. The 6x-7 is too long. There is almost no difference in length between the 6x-7 and the size 8.

These jeans are great,very warm, great quality, very soft on the inside but BEWARE... they shrink terribly! My daughter is 12, she is 5ft 3in about 80lbs, we ended up getting her a size 16. They shrank over 2". I washed them exactly as the directions said, the shrinkage happended the same way twice, once with the 14's we got, then with the 16's. She is very tiny around the waist/torso but with the adjustable waist they fit her well.

The jeans are lovely. If they fit you will be very happy. I would recommend them to a friend with heavier kids than mine. For me I bought my 8 year olds size 8. They are very large on the waist - if I pull in the elastic they are just about alright, but the length has no room for growth at all. I will be sending them back. My girls are of average size but LLBean really needs a slim fit version to complement these. Also, the boot cut is very generous - too generous for my personal taste.

I bought these for my daughter, they have wide legs, wider than we would normally but I like the look on her. They are a dark blue and have an adjustable waist which is nice. They are not as thick as you may think but the lining is much softer than tradition jeans.

This is the perfect pair of jeans for the cold winter in New York. The flannel is extremely warm and did not peel after many washes. The stonewashed color is a beautiful dark shade and did not fade after frequent cold washing. The spandex gives flexibility and a modern fit. Great quality and value.

My daughter is a petite older teen who fits perfectly into the big kids size 16 jeans. She is always cold, so I ordered these for her 3 years ago in a stonewashed denim boot-cut. From fall through winter and into early spring she wears these jeans 2 to 4 days per week. After all that time and almost constant use, and weekly washing, they are showing only mild use with slight wear at the back leg hems and front pockets. The flannel, although a bit thin, is holding up well and is quite warm according to my daughter. The denim is classic fabric with a classic style that will always be "in". They are flexible enough for movement and comfortable enough that she has fallen asleep in them. I am looking at this pair for this year, because of the darker denim for variety. These will definitely be passed down through our family, that is if she will ever give them up or give them away!! When you buy these jeans for your child, you buy them made to last, with the quality you expect from LLBean.

I repeat my orders for these pants for two years. The last two pants bruised my daughter thighs. Still, she wore them with liners when it is cold.

The jeans are very ample. I could not use them for my grandchildren as they were too wide. I even tried adjusting the waist, but the legs were still too wide. I was disappointed. The quality is very good - sizing is not correct.
