This is a very nice cardigan sweater, more substantial than I anticipated. It looks quite okay with a shirt, tie and slacks.

If your into cardigans, highly recommended. I'm 6ft tall 170 lbs and a large fits great.

I ordered this sweater in navy for my husband. He loves the feel and weight. The only thing I didn't like are the pockets "hanging open". I plan to hand stich them closed to look neater, they do add style. I highly recommend this cardi for guys to wear every season of the year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LoveNJBeaches Awesome, but Cotton
I love this sweater. I now have three in different colors. Totally comfortable, top quality, but they are cotton so they stretch and/or shrink or both. My oldest one is several years old and is wearing well, yet they are still more suited for casual than for a shirt and tie.

Looks pretty good, but I can't figure out the size. Layered with a dress shirt, it is warm enough for wearing around in the house where I keep the temperature low (upper 50's to low 60's). Overall quality is very good, but the fit is odd. The sleeves remind me of wearing a rain poncho you buy at an amusement park. It is possible this would stuff well for making a scarecrow. I am keeping it as it still looks good, it just feels odd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rlommen Perfect Texas sweater
It never gets too cold in Dallas for the Fall or early Winter, but a nice sweater is necessary on some days, and I'm so happy with this one! It has a more weight to it than your average sweater, but the cotton fabric makes it breathable rather than itchy (as wool often does). Although it's a men's sweater, a size small and fits perfectly --a bit roomy in the arms and comes down just below my hips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mervich Double L Cotton Sweater, Burgundy Cardigan
Got this button-front cardigan in burgundy XL (which is my normal size). An earlier reviewer stated the burgundy color was not burgundy?mine is a rich, true burgundy with brown buttons?and I am picky about such things. The fit and sleeve length are perfect (I wear a 34-35 inch sleeve in a dress shirt). Front pockets are a plus. The body may be just a bit long, but no more than an inch, at most. I wouldn't say this is a heavy sweater, but it is more than mid-weight. An premium sweater at a great price! Nobody does it better than L.L.Bean!

Rated 3 out of 5 by PARoadtrip Sleeves too short
First let me that this is a beautiful sweater. I read many of the reviews and saw that several people had written that the sleeves ran short but figured I'd be OK with a tall size for my hubby. Not! The body is tall; the sleeves not so much. There is no LLBean store near us and, not wanting to pay for return shipping more than once, I decided to call customer service for advice. Duh! Why didn't I do that the first time? The kind lady on the phone had measurements of all the sweaters and helped me find another style (the blue jean sweater) that actually had tall length sleeves. If your intended wearer usually wears a tall size or otherwise has long arms, save yourself some trouble and order by phone so you will know what the actual measurements are. Tall is not necessarily so.

The double Cotton Sweater, Button Front
(Burgundy) is a fine sweater. However, it may be that the size was mislabeled. If the size label is correct it has to be the largest Medium I have ever seen. It should have been labeled Large. Even the length is certainly for tall people. But the sweater is a fine product. But as they say you can't really tell until you try it own. So nuch for catalog shopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CupOKatie Even nicer than expected...
My husband wanted a cardigan, and when this sweater arrived, it was of even better quality than I expected. The weight is very nice, not too thin, not too heavy. I was especially impressed with extremely neatly executed joining points in the garment, such as the button-band, buttonholes and pockets. Makes it look VERY expensive! Really perfectly finished, so soft, and layers wonderfully!
