This garment felt wonderful, had a comfortable fit around my upper body but I had difficulty walking as this shirt limited my mobility.
The length was laughable - 34 inches from the shoulder to the bottom hem. I'm 5'10". This polo hugged my upper legs and fell just above my knees. It was 6 1/2 inches longer than my 'alligator' brand polos.
It was returned

Rated 2 out of 5 by TheDesertPup Polo Shirt that doubles as a TENT!
With much excitement, I ordered the weathered purple Polo in size XL. Every Polo and Tee shirt I own is an XL. I am 5'11" tall, & weigh 164 lbs., with normal H.W.P. I am not a giant bear of a man.
This XL Polo shirt would easily be very loose-fitting on a 300 lb. 6'5" man! I simply do not understand how or why LL Bean has decided that XL is so totally beyond normal sizing in this shirt. It is way beyond overly large. I would describe the fit as tent-like.
Rather than launder it, hoping for normal shrinkage on a 100% cotton Polo, I returned it as defective, and requested a Large as a replacement. I have grown extremely weary of so many returns to LLB based on incorrect sizing. It has become a very frequent thing, & is truly annoying. I have lost faith, but other than sizing problems, I still love LLB, & will hope to enjoy this Polo in Large.

After reading reviews here about size, I was a little concerned as to what size to order. I'm not a big guy, but would often order large unless I know a shirt is over sized. I like shirts that are a bit looser & relaxed fit. I decided to try a medium. Arrived and tried on - so far, so good. Washed in cold water & dried in the dryer low heat. No noticeable shrinkage. Appears to be a good quality shirt - not too heavy, but not thin, cheap cloth like some polo shirts I've tried either. So far, I'm very satisfied. Ordering some more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SteelSunflower Great shirts, beats competitors-
My husband and I both love this polo shirt and the quality is MUCH better than LL Beans direct competitor. However, the big drawback is that they never seem to have many colors in stock. I would think this would be a big seller for them and I would have ordered more had more had more colors been in stock. This seems to be on ongoing problem as I have had difficulty getting much color variety for several years. I must be ordering at the wrong time of the year...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nightmaren Fits Perfectly
A lot of people are complaining that the shirts run big or are too long, but personally they fit wonderfully. It always amazes me how many stores claim they sell Tall Shirts only to have them shrink to the size of a tube top. Not LL Bean, these shirts are perfect in length and its great to see that after multiple washes, it hasn't shrunk at all. The length and width of these shirts fit my 6'4" frame perfectly regardless of how many times I have washed it. I'll definitely be purchasing more of these in the future.
My only complaint and its a small one, is the colors I want tend to be sold out before I even get my catalog. Looks like I'll have to stop by online more often to ensure a better selection of colors.
Great Shirt. Excellent Fit. Amazing Price. Don't change a thing LL Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by lildudesmom Nice shirt - Runs Big
I got these for my husband. The material and colors are very nice. They do run a bit big, but he likes to wear an undershirt, so they worked out fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HuskyWalker Soft, a bit large
My husband is usually a Bean large in the polo shirts, but this one runs slightly larger. He is wearing it all the time, though, as it is soft and he says he likes the bright green especially well with his tan jeans.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Blacksmithking Latest batch is better
I noticed new colors (a new batch?) of these shirts were available, and the older colors were on sale now. I ordered one of the newer medium-talls, and it's much better. That's a relief, since in the interim I tried polos from other vendors and found them dissatisfying. I'll try a few more of the new batch of LLBean polos soon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JEH12 I wanted a Polo shirt not a mini dress
I've been buying Polo shirts from LL Bean for 30 years. I purchased three Polos recently and am quite disappointed in the overall fit of the shirts. Each shirt is four inches longer than previous ones I have purchased and the neck opening and button placket are overly large. I can't wear the shirts untucked as they are too long and tucking them in doesn't look good either. I plan on returning the Polo shirts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Timot54 Wrong fit after over 40 years!
I have been buying and wearing this shirt for over 40 years. Got a new one today and it is as other reviewers say: way too baggy. It is a very different fit than before. Also had a bad smell when I opened the package. That is another unfortunate first. I strongly recommend making these right and charging whatever that costs. Last one I will buy until I know you have changed back to the original quality and fit. Too bad.
