Rated 5 out of 5 by knitterspinner I buy these every year!
These are amazing! We have been buying these for over 4 winters now. Hands down best snow boots! They are tall to keep the snow out. I love that they are functional as snow boots and puddle boots in the spring when it is still really cold during spring thaw when everything is wet. These are so easy to clean up, just hose them off if they get muddy. Best of all, the kids can put them on and take them off all by themselves. They hold up great to pass down to younger siblings, too!!

I have been buying these boots for my kids for several years now and I just returned our latest two pairs. Every single time my kids wore these out in the snow, they came in with soaking wet feet. And the liners started to fall apart as well. We won't be buying them anymore. But LLBean is great about taking things back- always excellent customer service!

We're coming to the end of a LONG winter up in Canada and my 8-yr-old has worn through all the liners that came with these boots. The construction of the outer part of the boot is great and they must have been comfortable, because she wore them even when there was no snow and wore the treads down on the heels because of it. They were tall and warm and great for playing in the snow, but the liners are flimsy. My other daughter has Kamik boots and the liners are reinforced with a strong fabric patch over the heels. Maybe LL Bean would consider something like this? And then I would buy these boots for all my kids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LikeToShop Wonderful boots!
I bought these for both of my kids, who were 7 and 9 at the time, three years ago. Ordered them big, and the kids are still wearing them this winter. I was thrilled to get three years out of them, and the extra liner that was included really allowed us to do that (since it was worn after the first winter or two). The boots are easy to put on, and warm and waterproof -- everything needed to keep a kid happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Liz84 Happy with the service, not so much the boots.
My mom bought these boots for my two oldest boys and they loved them. But within two to three months the removable liners on both pairs got holes above the heels and my oldest got a hole between the fabric and the rubber of the actual boot where it's sewn together. I would give these less stars but LL Bean has such a great guarantee and like I said previously my kids love them. I called LL Bean and they sent out a replacement pair for my oldest son before I sent his back so he was able to use them while we waited for his new ones to get here. I haven't called yet on my younger sons but I'm sure I will have great customer service again.

I am so happy with these boots, they are nice and tall to keep the snow out and keep her legs warm. She wore them most of the day playing in the wet snow and they were bone dry inside when she took them off - I was impressed! Definately worth it!!

These boots have been perfect for us. I tend to buy winter gear a size big so that my older son can get a couple of years out of it before I buy another. I did that with these boots and he loved them last year, loves them this year, and is really excited that I bought the exact same boots in the exact same colour for him to wear next year.
I wouldn't use them for puddle stomping. They do a good job of keeping feet warm and dry in the snow, but they aren't perfectly water proof. I've noticed that when my son is playing outside all day that the liners get a little damp - but that's easily fixed by taking them out to dry and putting in the second pair that comes with the boots.
I have not had any trouble with the liners or any desire to purchase more. When he wears the boots to school, my son keeps them (and his snow pants) on so that he doesn't have to take so long getting dressed for recess - so these boots have been getting a lot of wear and activity over the last two winters and they still look just like new. There has literally been no wear and tear on them. They are in perfect condition for handing down to his little brother. The liners have also held up perfectly. The ONLY reason I took a set out of the boots was so that they would dry. Aside from being damp, they were just like new.
If you need waterproof boots and/or boots with a serious cold rating - then these aren't what you're looking for. But if you just need a good all around winter boot for your kid to play in the yard and at school in, that do a good job of keeping their feet warm and dry, while also being comfortable and easy to put on and take off - this is a fabulous boot. Not only *would* I purchase them again, I *have* purchased them again.

Gave as a gift and they couldn't be happier. Love the fact that they have the felt insides that can be taken out to dry (and replaced over time if necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Obidog Great boots!
The fact that you can remove the lining for drying AND that these come with a spare lining make them fabulous boots for boys who like to play in the snow once or twice a day. I was so tired of trying to figure out how to dry their old boots, not to mention dealing with the smell of boots that are always damp! Also, these are nice and tall to keep out the snow, and are easy off and on. We love them!

Rated 3 out of 5 by mom4gurlz Liners dont hold up
I purchased these for my 10 year old and in just a few weeks the felt liners had completely worn through. After 2 months the second set of liners is trashed too. The boots them selves are great and have little signs of wear. They also are a good wide fit which is a plus for my kids. Hoping Beans comes through on the liner repacement, because this is just not typical bean quality.
