Rated 5 out of 5áby LPMichigander Warm, comfortable and a good fit
Good quality, warm mitten. Although the woolen inserts are fine, I think some insulation (thinsulate?) in the buckskin mittens might be a good addition.

These mittens looked and felt great! Nice and soft. I didn't use them for chopping. I mostly used them when I was snow blowing out my driveway, or carrying in groceries. After just a few weeks, the woollen inners started to wear; within a month, they were holed. The leather is nowhere near waterproof, so my hands were 1. cold 2. wet. After a few months, the leather is worn. Repeat--I didn't use these mitts hard! I've already bought replacement mitts. I'm disappointed. Like much LL Bean, some stuff is great quality, well made, lasts; other stuff, not so. These mitts are the latter. If you're doing anything more vigorous than walking, I don't recommend them.

Warm, waterproof mittens. Well crafted. Fit great. Use them everyday it is cold. I have not seen anything that beats the quality.

Rated 5 out of 5áby WhiteSoxFan36 Perfect for XC Skiing in a Polar Vortex
I bought these after my regular gloves couldn't get the job done during a recent morning of cross-country skiing. The temperature was -2F when I left the house, but even though the gloves were rated for cold weather, my hands were painfully cold within minutes. Even after getting my heart rate up, the pain in my hands didn't abate. A friend recommended a down glove brand that he uses, but they cost nearly three times what I paid for the gloves I already had. I tried these as an alternative, and don't know why I ever wore anything else. I went out this morning and did ten miles (the temp at 6am was 10F). My hands never got cold even though I spilled a couple of times. The buckskin outer mitts got wet, but the wetness never made it to my skin. There is a great loss of dexterity with these, but for anything less than tightening bindings or holding ski poles, they're absolutely perfect.

These got excellent reviews and i was between these and the expensive Gortex ones. Glad i picked these! My husband wears them for shoveling in Upstate NY and they keep his hands warm and have room for the little handwarmer packs. He was so reieved after freezing wearing gloves. Excellent product.

We were having sub zero temps in Ky and our gloves weren't keeping our hands warm. Purchased these and no more problems.
We had these gloves about 20 years and they too were as warm.

I put these on our shoe dryer to pre-warm them, and my husband was able to use the snow blower for two hours without painful swollen fingertips. Every other pair of gloves we've tried has resulted in painful fingertips within a half hour.
I wish we found these sooner.
