I first purchased a size medium petite in the cropped pants. Way too huge everywhere. Then I exchanged for a size small petite. Still too big at the waist, too long, and crotch is too long. And baggy. I like the fabric (ordered the olive color). I think the extra small would be too small, but I may be wrong about that. Normally I wear 8 - 10 and usually a size medium. These are strange pants, since the waist is elastic all the way around, plus a drawstring. The elastic should be much smaller in circumference, because then it would stretch to fit one's waist. Also, I washed and dried it in the dryer hoping it would shrink, it is still too big at the waist (and I don't have a tiny waist.) L.L. Bean should close these out and start over!

If you like walking around in sleep PJs you may like these totally shapeless bottoms. They have gone back.

These pants must fit someone, but not me. They are extremely short through the rise, although clearly meant to sit at the waist, and very baggy and full everywhere else.
My usual size was huge, and the next smaller size was too tight. If the fabric were not so stiff and bulky, the pants might drape better and look more flattering. As it is, they made me look dumpy and frumpy. They are going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RRHfromCT comfortable, practical, versatile -- with pockets!
Great product overall. I had three pair of these pants, and just ordered three more in different colors. They are comfortable, wear well, and can be dressed up or down. And they have back pockets! Hallelujah! They are definitely my go-to summer slacks.
My one suggestion is that the front pockets be shaped better, as items such as keys can slide out when one is sitting down.
My request is that these be offered in WHITE! What is summer without white pants? And while I'm mentioning colors: Why not offer them also in that lovely new malachite green? Why are only the sunwashed shorts (and neither these nor the full-length pants) offered in that color?

Perhaps the most comfortable pants I own. I have the sunwashed shorts, pants, skirts and love this style for its comfort even if it's not particularly flattering around the waist.
One thing about the chambray - the stain stick laundry pre-treat that I use on everything, left whitish spots on the light blue. So not entirely colorfast. But my fault for not testing it first like the directions say.

These are truly canvas, not light. Like them but they need ironing every time if you want to wear them to work or out, which for me doesn't work. Comfortable for weekends or non-dressy situations. Fit loose.

These pants were made of a nice light fabric for summer. However, they were huge. I normally wear a 14 (in pants with a little stretch). I think these would fit a size 18. I don't know if I'll try a different size. Perhaps they will have a variety of sizes at the store I can try on.

Summer wardrobe for retired grandma with absolutely no waistline.
I have these in long and crops, khaki, chambray, yellow, and blue.
So much better in warm weather then knits. Cool and comfortable, what more could you ask

Rated 5 out of 5 by DeniseD My favorite summer pants!
I have 3 pair of these trousers, and I love them. I'm a big woman, so I originally bought size 3X. This pair was too long, and they tended to get looser around the waist as I wore them, so the next ones I ordered were 2X. A little tight at first, but then they fit perfectly after an hour or so. I wear these just about everywhere during the summer, and they are remarkably cool and comfortable. I do wish they were offered in petite length, however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Polarbear14 Mixed feelings about these pants
I've been a customer of LLBean for a long time. I shop here because although I am Plus Size, the clothes I buy are excellent quality. I was bitterly disappointed with these pants because:
they were described as capri length and yet when I got them and tried them on, they were exactly 1" above my ankles.
I do have a short inseam of 29". I got out my sewing machine and fixed these pants BUT I ended up cutting off 6" in the length before the pants fell midpoint between knee and ankle. Do be careful and measure your own inseam length before buying these pants. Otherwise you will be doing what I should have done which is to return them. These pants would be fine for someone who is taller than 5'7" tall.
